Not the same thing. You agreed to a contract stipulation at time of booking. You don’t do that when you buy a bottle of Peanut Butter in a store that was priced wrong.

The Contract King is back everyone!

For the last time, we all know what the cruise line is legally allowed to do. However, we are talking about what is the right thing to do for their customers.

What they CAN do, and what they SHOULD do, are 2 different things here.

I go to the casino and gamble.  Sometimes, I break even.  I can put a quarter in a slot machine and get a $10 payout.  So the drink package glitch of 2019 is a gamble.  I put in $18 for a day of drinking.  I might win, and get the $55 a day package for $18.  Or I might loose and they credit back the $18.  So of course I dream of them keeping that price for those that got it.......but I will not cry over it, if they send me an "I'm sorry" letter.  I know it's most likely a mistake.  I booked it knowing it's a mistake.  It's nothing more than a gamble for me.  I have nothing to loose, and only free booze to gain.

That’s not accurate at all. You don’t book a Shore excursion for one price, thinking that it might change and you’ll lose out on it. No, these were purchased at an advertised price. That price should be honored.

Did you read your contract when you booked your cruise?

In agree their IT has a history of issues and all the more reason to know this was likely a error “glitch”.

I'm aware of what the contract says, and I understand they are legally entitled to do whatever they want.  However, I don't believe it's the right thing to do to your customers.  This isn't going to bankrupt the company.

We had to think about this, too for the very same reasons you mentioned.  At D+ we get plenty to drink - but fresh OJ, a pool drink; night cap, and coffees are a nice add-on for only $18/day.  So we do have the package in our paid cart - no cancellation this morning.  We have our confirmation.  This morning for our 11 day March Serenade cruise it is now listed in the cruise planner at $60 for Deluxe drink package and they added Voom!

No cancellation in my order history either.  Guess we'll wait and see what happens.

    The Entitled Nation.....

    Somebody made a mistake....  I want, I want .....

It's not a matter of being entitled, as you are inferring here.  It's about a multi-billion dollar company making a change to a product's price, and the customers purchasing the product at that price.  Sorry that they made a mistake and are now calling it a "glitch", but the transaction was completed.  Their prices are now back to where they used to be, but RCI should honor the purchases that were made in that time frame.  If I'm entitled to anything, I'm entitled to the price I paid for that product.  The price that they had advertised for HOURS before changing it.  The price that they initially said they would be honoring.  The price that is listed as a Special Offer in the email confirmation.  The price that I told clients about, who bought it, and now I'm going to look bad when RCI cancels it.  We're all entitled to RCI owning their mistake, and letting the people who purchased at this price keep it.

For a company with a shoddy IT history, you'd think they would proofread something like this....

I would pay $75 a person for all you can eat crab legs, crab cakes, etc. I wish they would do this. Like tables with butcher paper tablecloths. where you show up in jeans and they put a pitcher of beer in the middle and pour crabs across the table and you just eat all night.

    That sounds.....amazing

Noticed the same query in another thread.

Only 1 person reserves a cabana in the Cruise Planner. They will get either 6 or 8 wristbands in their cabin, depending on what kind of cabana has been reserved. Those serve as the admission method.

Thanks for the info!  So I'm guessing anybody can have access to the beach itself, but to get near the cabanas you have to have a wristband?
