  1. On the Quest Roll call for 5th April sailing a couple of American passengers have decided to cancel. Unfortunately as I understand it, as Seabourn’s statement about being able to cancel and receive a full future sailing credit was issued within 30 days of sailing, UK passengers cannot take this offer and will lose all monies.  So my view is unless the Seabourn UK change it’s policy on cancellation and/or the FCO prohibits travel to any of the areas in the itinerary UK passengers will embark on this cruise.

Received as an attachment to an email from my Travel agent along with USA visa (esta) requirement.  I copied and pasted to this post for information.  Hope it helps.

I am on the April Manaus to Miami cruise.  I made my final payment January 6.  I have not received the Vaccination Notification you both got.  How did you receive it?

My travel agent is calling Seabourn to find out why I didn't get it.

  3. I received this notification from Seabourn earlier this week after making final payment. We are in late 50-s had vaccination last year and thankfully no side effects.

    VACCINATION NOTIFICATION:
Please be advised that Yellow Fever vaccination is strongly recommended for all guests on this itinerary. The vaccine must be given at least 10 days before
your trip. Please bring a valid, original International Certificate for Yellow
Fever or an original, signed vaccine exemption certificate issued by a licensed medical doctor. Note photocopies are not accepted. Guests without proof will
be permitted to board. However, during the cruise, upon arrival at certain ports, documentation may be requested by local officials who will make the final decision on granting guests without proof of vaccination permission to travel ashore.
We recommend you contact an approved health travel advisory service at least 8 weeks prior to travel to discuss travel health precautions for your trip. More information on Yellow Fever can be found by visiting the following website: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/diseases/yellow-fever.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Don’t remember hearing any PA announcements in our cabin on Seabourn except for the mandatory lifeboat drill the first day.   I hope this has not changed.    The anchor chain noise is one of the “benefits” of a cabin guarantee.   You do save money but you usually get a cabin no one else would select.

Just a thought but if only 415 guests on board, can you not ask to be moved to a vacant suite away from the anchor?

  5. I can’t recall from our previous trips if Seabourn offer shuttles to the airport on disembarkation if you haven’t booked their inclusive air package. If so is this free or a cost involved? Thankyou to anyone who can help.

On this occasion I booked my own flights so it was not Seabourn responsibility but it would have made no difference, I think the hold over in Sao Paulo  was three or four hours but rthis was needed. You  have to take an internal flight to Manaus and I checked what the best airline was , I hate to think what the others were like. you can fly UK to Miami and  Miami to Manaus but when we checked the times meant an overnight stay in Miami but it could have changed.

We had to have yellow fever jab , the problem is not Devils Island there are no customs there ,but places like Barbados  who insisted as you had sailed from that area.

    Hope this helps

Thank you very much. Given me lots to think about.

  7. Trip sounds a nightmare. I would book business but you say domestic flight doesn’t have business? Ho long was your lay over in São Paulo. I assume you arrange flights through Seabourn? Did they offer any assistance (as discussed previous post).

did you need yellow fever for the trip?

Really loved this cruise , do not miss the Amazon floor show. The worst part was actually getting to Manaus  from the UK  and arriving in heavy rain.

    Morning John,

we are thinking of this cruise April 2020. Would love to hear about highs and lows.

    thanks.

I am not sure of the exact  cut off time, You will either get lunch provided  with your luggage looked after  or a day room provided. They do not show on the web site but usually tell you when on the ship but am sure if you call the club  they will tell you. Whatever, please be assured Seabourn will look after you.

I always use Seabourn Air if the price is reasonable, which it has been on the majority of times.

    John

Thank you John, we have been with Seabourn a few times before but haven’t experienced this problem with them as flight times were reasonable. Silverseas just transferred us to the airport and it was up to us to make our own arrangements although Crystal would let us stay on the ship as long as we liked. Thanks again

If the ship departs at say 5.30 but your flight does not arrive til  4.00 they fly you in a day early . on departure if your  flight does not leave  until late in the day ie 8 pm they arrange a day room for you. Does that help ?

Hi, the ship docks at 07:00 am our return flight does not depart until 18:35. Will Seabourn arrange a day room? Flights booked with Seabourn as a package? Is there anything on the Seabourn website about this? Thank you.

  11. Got back off the Epic on Sunday, Alot of what I have to say about it is already written on here so not going to do a long review but feel free to ask me anything and hopefully can answer...

I loved the cruise, all 10 of us did, felt like we were treated like royalty.. cabin cleaned twice a day, drinks practically poured down our necks, amazing food, great entertainment, all staff seemed happy and couldn't do enough for us, the ship is massive but very clean and well run in my opinion!

I go on holiday alot and have always said, you get what you pay for! Not true this time, felt like we had paid 3 times the amount to get what we got, Well done NCL/Epic!!!!!

Is there adequate space to store three large suitcases in the balcony cabins?

    Thanks

  12. There are no upgrades. If you want another package, you need to pay for it in full - also if there are more adults in the cabin without alcohol package, they'd need to purchase the package too.

The current offer is free UBP for first two adults and soda package for 3rd adult. So does that mean we have to purchase a UBP for the 3rd adult. Can't see the point of offering free soda package if this is correct. Can anyone explain? Thanks

  13. Assuming that you are both in the same room the UBP package is for two people, so both of you get the UBP for free with the current offer. If there are three people in the room the 3rd person will not get the UBP for free, but will get the soda package for free. They have no obligation to purchase the UBP if they do not want it.

    6&8

Can the 3rd Adult upgrade soda package to UBP or wine/beer package at a discounted price or do they have to pay full amount? Thank you.

  14. Hi,

Sorry to open this debate again, but can anyone let me know the difference between the Mini Suite and Balcony on the Epic. Is it the bathroom that is bigger and if so how. Are all Mini Suites the same? I would prefer a shower than I small bath. Is it true that if the bed is closer to the balcony doors, it has a bath with overhead shower rather than a shower cubicle. Is the sink in the living area?

    Many thanks for any help

  15. Thanks all for replies. Seems like everything pros and cons! We are only a party of two so would only be looking for a table for two. Never cruised with Celebrity before is there any tables on the Century that we wouldn't like to be sat in?

  16. Website allows booking of time slots for Select Dining. Has anyone any experience of this? Are you guaranteed time and table size if you pre book and can it be changed either on line before sailing or whilst on ship?

    Many thanks.

  17. I had similar problems when trying to download excursions for my trip. I emailed Celebrity customer services and they advised that they was a technical problem and sent the excursion list in PDF format by email.

I suggest you email Customer Services or ask your TA to do this for you. Hope this helps.
