  1. Last sea day

We were up early and headed the Blue Iguana for one last yummy breakfast burrito and headed up to the Serenity Deck. We laid out for 4 or 5 house and just enjoyed enjoyed the views and relished in the fact that even though the cruise was ending, our summer was just beginning! We grabbed a quick bite for lunch and went to the Q and A Session with Dustin. I'm not sure that I believe that his stories are 100% accurate, but he was entertaining.

At 5:00, mom went to the Platinum/Diamond party and I settled in with a book and a yummy drink. Mom was back in less than 30 minutes. She said the party was a joke. No one was checking the invites and that people with blue cards were coming in and getting free drinks. She told me that a couple who had been platinum for a awhile, told her to come get me. However, mom knew I was content where I was, so she had a few drinks and left.

At 7:00 we went to the Lip Sync Battle. I would never go to something like this on land, but...when in Rome!

After the show, we went back to the room and tackled the huge job of packing. We always end up leaving the ship looking like we have been on it for a month! 😂

Up next I will post about the debark debacle and a few last thoughts about this cruise!

Did the Glory have pour your own beer? The special cakes at lunch? Tea and lemonade? Apparently I only care about food. Haha!

Yes, the pour your own beer station is at the back of the Lido restaurant. I never saw speciality cakes, but the only dessert that I like is the carrot cake and chocolate chip cookies, so I probably wouldn't have tried them anyway. 😂 Water, tea, and lemonade were available at all times of the day, except maybe breakfast because they have juice at that time.

  3. Cozumel- east side

We had previously spent time on the east side and loved it, so that's where we decided to spend our afternoon. We had hoped to be able to get in the water, but the seaweed was out of control and the water was super rough, so we just settled for driving up and down the coast and stoping for photo ops. This was the first time we hadn't at least put our feet in the water while in Cozumel, but we still had a great day.

Mom put me down as an additional driver on the rental car, so I was able to drive in a foriegn country for the first time! Now I just have to tackle the countries that drive on the left side of the road! 😂

The beauty of the east side is unmatched and I truly hope that this side of the island stays undeveloped and always keep its' natural beauty.

This truly was a relaxing day and I couldn't have asked for anything better after our other two port days. We dropped the car off about 4:00 or so and did some shopping at Puerta Maya and took pictures at the new sign. We took advantage of the beach chairs and were able to take turns shopping so we didn't have lug our stuff in and out of the stores. We had to be back on board by 5:30, so we made our way to the peir around 5:00.

I HATE having to walk through those duty free shops on the way back to ship. I feel like we are treated like we are all going to steal things while we are in there and I refuse to buy anything in their just because I am forced to walk through them.

When we made it to the ship, the line was long and was moving pretty slow and of course, an annoying drunk guy ended up in line behind us. The crew kept having to get onto him and he kept bumping into people. This did not go over well with me because I love my personal space. I kept my mouth shut until we made it to security. I was getting my bags off the x-ray scanner and he told me to hurry up because I bought too much. I really wasn't going to say anything, but it just ran right through me and I told him to kiss my you know what. I don't guess he expected me to anything because he just kind of stared I at me. I didn't encounter many rude people on this cruise, but he definitely was one.

Tonight's show was Amor Cubano and we both really enjoyed it. The ship was really rocking that night, so everyone was walking like they were drunk. 😂

All in all, it was a great day in Cozumel!

  4. Cozumel continued

We pulled out of the Puerta Maya parking lot a little before 11:00 and explored San Miguel for a little bit. Our first stop was the Mega. I LOVED their baked goods selection! We bought donuts, muffins, mini chocolate rolls, and rolls. We ate our weight in carbs for lunch and didn't regret any of it. We also bought tequila and a few other items. After the Mega, we went to the Cozumel Drugstore and got the meds we needed. I cannot recommend this pharmacy enough! Fernando and Bobbi Telez are the owners and we won't give anyone else our business. As we were headed out of town, we drove through a protest. This group was protesting the way we treat the earth and were urging people to be more environmentally friendly. I agreed with their message. After our errands we headed to the east side!

  5. Third port- Cozumel

After two early port days, we were so glad that we weren't scheduled to be in Cozumel until 10:00! We were still up fairly early and spent a few hours up top as we cruised into Cozumel. When we made it to the Lido deck, we found that we had been overrun by towel animals! I absolutely love the towel animal invasion! We ate breakfast, found chairs in the shade, and just relaxed.

Today, there were three other ships in Cozumel. An MSC, Allure of the Seas, and at the Puerta Maya pier with us was the Carnival Miracle.

This was our 18 billionth time in Cozumel, so we are very comfortable on the island and have previously rented cars, so that's what did this time. Before the cruise, mom reserved a car through Alamo. We ended up with a Nissan March and the AC worked amazingly well and that is all we cared about! I think it ended up costing around $100 for the day and that included every type of insurance imaginable and to have Alamo fill the car up with gas, so we wouldn't have to mess with it. We got the car and made our way to town!

Yes, this was amazing that no lives were lost!  Still a lot of damage being cleaned up, but it certainly could've been worse!  It passed about 3.5 miles from our house, but was pretty frightening nonetheless.  Such a small world that your van driver's dad was from here.

I was floored when I saw pictures of the damage! I just knew their would be fatalities and was worried until I got ahold of my relatives!

I bet the staff members from the kids clubs were Terry from Circle C and Khene (actually from South Africa but has a British accent) from Club O2. My kids LOVED them on our Glory cruise in February. Terry actually came and hung out with us a bit at Jack’s Shack when we were docked in Grand Turk. The kids had a great time with him at the beach.

No...the female crew member's name was Nichola (sp?) and she told us she was from England. I don't remember the male crew member's name though.
