$1200 on a Panda slot on a $4 spin the last night on MG a few weeks ago.

I had already dropped about that gambling during the cruise so I was happy to break even.

So was my non-gambling DH.  🙂

I know exactly how you feel.  That is my situation too.  He is finally coming around to the fact that gambling is how we get deals cruises.

Typically it has been chocolate covered strawberries for us... but basically it is a plate of special chocolate treats delivered to your stateroom.

Oh ok, I never knew what they were called.  I have had those delivered to our room when I was on a casino cruise.  We are turning platinum this next time so I didn't want to miss out on anything.  Thanks a bunch!

Remember to order your Chocolate Delight from Room Service, get your bottle of water from the bar, Platinum gift from Pixel, cocktail last Brunch day I think and go to the Platinum/Diamond party.  You can each bring a guest if you wish (like the kids).  I think that's it but I'm sure someone will chime in with what I've forgotten.😄

Ok, so I have to ask.  What the heck is chocolate delight?

On our last cruise in January we hit Platinum on the last day. We had all the benefits for the whole cruise, including checking in two days early.

That is exactly what is about to happen to us on our next cruise.  Finally going to Alaska! Grateful for the laundry assistance as I will need to pack heavier clothes for this one.

So it seems UR Comped offers are on average less generous than say Carnival 's Elite offers. UR Comped main cruiseline offering are with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, MSC, and Virgin.  You'll probably get a comped balcony cabin offerings from those cruiselines. How it works is that once you've been vetted you can go onto their website and see what cruises from those cruiseslines are being offered through URComped. You should scroll through what's being offered and if a cruise on a particular ship appeals to you see what they are offering and then if you're interested click on the book button. What happens then is they will confirm whether you qualify for that particular offer. You'll receive notification whether you qualified and at that point you can accept the offer or decline it.

URComped offers usually doesn't include Freeplay. Sometimes it may include other freebies like drink package and wi-fi but not always and TBH usually not. Generally their offers are room only. The website will tell you if freebies are being offered on a particular cruise.

The main benefit of booking through URCOMPED is the amount of cruises offered. You can also try cruiselines you haven't been on before, like Virgin Voyages. URComped doesn't work with Carnival, Princess, NCl, Holland America. They used to work with Crystal before they went bankrupt ( they have been restarted but URComped doesn't work with them now) but don't currently work with any other 5* cruiseline.

Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me.  That helps a lot.

That may be their rules but it didn't apply in our case. We have/had multiple Celebrity cruises booked through BCC & URComped simultaneously. Last year we had two Celebrity cruises through URcomped while also booked a MSC and Virgin with them. This year we had a Celebrity BCC cruise and a URcomped Celebrity cruise. We're already part of URcomped 50+ nights Club.

So...I am a newbie.  Can you tell me what to expect as far as offers for someone that is offered a free suite, drink package for 2 and sometimes a little play money?  I also have an offer for a free balcony with everything mentioned before and more play money.  Usually $1,000. Thanks so much!  Just trying to figure out how this works.

Claiming the deal doesn't finalize anything. Your URComped agent will submit the request to Celebrity and then email you with the offer.

For my first cruise, I asked about an 11-night Vancouver to Hawaii cruise, with a gambling budget of $2,400. I got a balcony for only port fees and taxes! Cruise-only rate, so no wifi or drinks, but for $170 each we figured we could afford to pay for them on their own.

Once you've cruised with the line, you can't book another deal with Celebrity through URComped for one year, but you should start getting offers from the Blue Chip Club. You can also try another line through URComped, including Royal Caribbean. Even though they and Celebrity are in the same company, the casino departments are completely separate.

Thank you so much.  So I need to pick the cruise I want and let them know first?

  8. I just signed up yesterday and I have sent them my offers.  I have cruised only carnival for 10 cruises and currently have 2 more booked.  Hitting Platinum as I board our next cruise to Alaska in May. I have never cruised another cruise line so I am wide open with their offers. We have been curious about trying Celebrity and this might be our chance to get a great deal. I always gamble on board and haven't paid full price for a cruise since after my first one. I usually allow to spend about $2,000 to $2,500 on a 7 day cruise.  Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, right? I used the gambling calculator on the urcomped website and it says I am worth $500 per day and that translates to $150 per day in comps.  For those of you that have done this before me, what can I expect as far as a free room?  Will it be a balcony like I am used to?  Any other perks for someone like me?  Free drinks?  Free whatever?

Also, on the website, it asks you to claim this deal and says "your host will tell you the price after you claim this deal" What if I claim it and the "deal" is more than I want to spend?  How does that work? Thanks in advance.

My sister and I got an upsell offer for $100 (total) to move from a balcony to suite on the Mardi Gras.  Jumped on that offer!  Hoping to get another upsell offer for our Valor cruise in April, but I doubt it as I think it is sold out.

I have been hoping for the same thing but I think my sailing is sold out too.  Celebration on March 5th.

I suggest you book an affordable cabin with the intention of hitting hard in the casino.  The casino year starts april 1 somas soon as you amass 2500 points you will be prime,  get free drinks and olenty of offers.  You should have no problem getting a free cruise based on the table i posted as well.  I would try to do a quantum or oasis class because the entertainment is really good and the casinos are large.

Ok! But first I have to get through the 3 cruises that I have booked on Carnival.  Man, this owning my own business thing is really messing up my cruising schedule.  I can't get away as much as I would like.

There are two ways to do that.  Its not that hard to get a balcony without paying extra.  But if you can only get something lower, you can pay the difference upon booking.  Or what I recommend is doing the royal up, upgrade bid.  I have scored up to an owners suite on oasis.  You just place a bid for up to two categories from what you booked.  If your bid is accepted, your good.  You do not get to pick the actual location though, only the category if you go this route.

That is interesting.  I have never cruised Royal, I wonder how my offers would compare on them vs Carnival.  Carnival just keeps me coming back because of the good deals.  I am not opposed to tying other lines at all.

You are right about everything except “spending thiusands in the casino”.  Obviously you dont gamble and thats a good thing for most. Its hard for me to put a number on it at carnival as i have not cruised them since 2016. We never got offers then.  However on royal its super transparent and 800 points will score you a free inside.  All we did on carnival was have them

match our royal status and now we just did our first free 8 day and have a free 15 day hawaii scheduled. Now i am not saying we dont spend money,  but i can 100% guarantee that we dont in total spend as much as a person who does not gamble.  We lost a total of about $550 on the 8 day cruise.  Which that plus tax and port charges is what it cost us with free drinks in casino,  our onboard spend was low and we got $150 total cash for freeplay.  We had two rooms as well and invited relatives who had an inside,  we had an outside.  They do not gamble so the lost like $20 each and gave up.  So the four of us had a great time for $550 + tax.  And this is not an anomoly we did the same in january on rccl.  We are on our 8th free post covid cruise next month on wonder.  Will it scale back?  I would almost guarantee it.  Its simply too good of a deal.  They were desperate to get the ships full.

This is sort of how I feel as well.  We have been on 10 carnival cruises (I think) the only one I ever paid full price for was the very first one. I played in the casino one night on that cruise and lost a chunk of change.  At the end of the cruise I went to close my casino account down and I had a few credits so I played them and won $2,400.  Since then, I have had offers for free interior that I can usually pay a little more to have a balcony.  Actually, the biggest jackpot I ever won was on a cruise ship. My offers are better this year than in the past. I think it's still a post covid thing.  I currently have 3 cruises booked on casino deals.  Going on the Celebration in a couple of weeks and the Luminosa in May to Alaska.  Both of those cruises are $1k or less all in, including pre paid gratuities and travel protection. Balcony for 2, drinks anywhere on the ship for me and my hubby, $200 OBC, and I think $200 play money. I Have one booked for next year on the Luminosa out of Brisbane, same price.  If I remember correctly, this offer has more play money and drinks anywhere only for me. Yes, I gamble on every cruise.  Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose.  I think my losses have been lower than what Carnival has given me in offers. I also enjoy gambling so, if I lose a similar amount to what I saved with my offers, I am really not mad.  I feel like I broke even and I had a good time.

I know this goes against your initial post, but let me try to sway you a little...

I like playing slots, it's mindless. Table games require thought and math, I want to chill out.

When playing slots (or anything) you have to disassociate the dollar from the wager or wins, they're points. When you buy in on a slot, don't look at the numbers as dollars, but as points, like when you played pinball.

Same for table games, but easier on slots, try to disassociate dollars from the chip denomination. Then it's not "real money" until you cash out.

Some agree and some disagree, I just find it easier to not think of it as money once playing

You don't give a crap when talking about craps, hahahaha!  That was cute!
