  1. STOKED!!! WE NOW GET TO ENJOY OUR VERY FIRST BALCONY CABIN! :D:):D

Cruising on Liberty soon. We opted for a guaranty OV room so we would have a sofa and extra room for a price we could afford. Well today I checked the prices and was able to get a balcony upgrade thru Pack N Go for a Whopping...................$25!!!!!!!! Sweet!

  2. Gold does not get you Priority. That is for Platinum members only. Since you are FTTF that is what is shown on your documents and luggage tags, so as not to get confused with the Platinum Priority. You will have your own separate check in for FTTF. And you are supposed to board after the Platinum Priority.

I am also Gold and have been for awhile and do not get Priority. I do get it when I am in the same cabin as my son, who is Platinum. After the 2 cruises I have booked I will be up to 71 days. That means if I book a cruise of 4 or more days I will then be Platinum. So I will be looking forward to that and then having Priority on my documents.

Yes, thank you for the explanation, I thought I saw on CCL website where it gave an example which stated Priority. It's my first FTTF purchase and we did it this time because it's sooo hot in August, we want to ditch all the luggage and cokes, plus receive my luggage early so I can prepare our clothes for the Steak house the first night. I still have shopping to do! Getting excited!

  3. You lock it from your side and the other occupant locks it from theirs, are 2 doors. We had a connecting cabin once and it was noisier than a non connecting one, you do hear "things" from the other cabin.

Okay, I am thinking unless I have really bad neighbors it won't be a problem, we usually are up until 2 a.m. most nights and hardly in the room, so maybe everyone will be sleeping by then. :)

I wonder if the room is any larger because of the door. I guess we will find out.

  4. Agree not all doors will hold magnets, I always carry sticky tabs and my trusty roll of duct tape. ;) I have used that numerous times. We always do up our doors and we are 50/50 for people removing things. Usually the last night of the cruise or Cozumel port where people tend to get a little more drunk. :p

  5. Keystonemama: proud mother of a Devil Dog right here. Ooh rah!

Proud is sooo right, I am going to brag a little...my baby, all 6 ft. 5 of him,:p goes to boot camp in October. We never expected him to join the military. He wants to be a doctor. He studied hard in high school, graduated with AA with dual enrollment by the age of 17. Enrolled in UF, studied in psychology and languages, he speaks Russian, Latin, some Chinese, was working on his BA. Surprises us one night with, "Oh, by the way I joined the Marines." What? I think it's for the challenge.

They liked his scores, have made him guide over his squad and sent him to MEPS in Jax for the Intelligence exam. He scored the highest of any recruit to come out of Gainesville, Florida! Ooh rah! In doing so, he has secured the open Intelligence position before going to boot camp. He is so excited. Now he tells me he may learn Arabic and still wants to be a doctor. He turned 21 last week, my baby is all grown up!

    Now I just pray. :)

  6. Yes, check that...our last two cruises didn't have Priority on our boarding pass or our luggage tags. I called last time and Carnival said it was because our TA had not put us in as Platinum and I had to call them...I thought our past guest numbers would have indicated that and it would be there automatically!

I did manage to check it today for a short period of time, it's shows me gold and to the left on my ticket it does not say priority but it does have the Faster to the Fun logo, I have not checked my luggage tags yet though.

  7. We cruise in 30 days, now I wait for my assigned cabin, anticipation!!! I tried to get into my cruise manager and it has locked me out. Boo.

Trying to check to make sure my Priority boarding is listed and if they changed my status to Gold. It has been down a lot lately. Liberty here I come!

I admit, I check at midnight every night just to see the countdown, lol, I guess you could say we are addicted. :p

  8. Good info, we are traveling to PR next month so will be sure to have Off. I attract mosquitoes, maybe my blood type but who knows.

We have just recently had a case here also in Alachua county from someone who had recently visited the Caribbean, in fact, I believe the article states prior to Thursday, ALL the cases in FL were contracted in the Caribbean.

Just starting reading another one of your reviews which are always awesome. Your DC pics are great, being the wife of a vet and now mom of a Marine, I appreciate you including them, very powerful. I find myself going back and looking at them, guess I am a little emotional too, my hubby's crew lost men in Iraq and now my son head's off soon. He speaks Russian and just took the test for an Intelligence job that he secured before heading off to boot camp. He scored the highest of any recruit ever to come out of Gainesville, FL, which means he may be headed to some tough places.

He tells me he may learn Arabic or try to be sent to Russia. Didn't mean to ramble...but I just wanted you to know your pics have reminded me of the past strengths and sacrifices and has helped me with some of my "mamma" impending fears. I can't wait to read the rest. Much thanks.

  11. I was at work and didn't get to finish my post...but, and this may be old news, but one of my engineers who is over the central florida area was telling me today that another engineer we work with at Canaveral said there are plans in the works for:

    1) a larger ship to come to the Port and

    2) they are wanting to build a "resort" type hotel(s) near the cruise terminals to entice cruisers to come and spend some time there a few days before or after their cruise. It will include nice hotels, restaurants and "Nasa" type rides. Sounded interesting.
