Leaving Grand Turk...
After we got back to the ship, we ended up ordering turkey sandwiches and decided to take a nap in the room.
Once everyone woke up, we collectively decided to skip formal night and go to the buffet for dinner.
Dinner in the buffet was actually really great, especially the desserts...
Surprisingly, while enjoying our desserts the head pastry chef and one of the head chefs showed up to our table to ask how the food had been. We had a nice long chat with the two, and thanked them for the awesome food they produced on the ship.
What I loved most about the chefs was their willingness to help guests! The food on this cruise was most definitely the best we have encountered in the fleet thus far!
Once dinner was over, we went down to the Amber Palace to watch the Epic Rock show.
-
We ended up getting pretty tired and hungry after exploring Grand Turk, so mom and I decided to go back to the ship to have a late lunch.
While she and I had been spending money, Dad went to the other side of the beach and took some great pictures of the island.
Margaritaville was pretty busy at this point...
-
Here I am trying to find coral rocks for my fish tank... haha.
Mom and I continued to take pictures around the splashdown exhibit, and beach.
-
Great review. Glad you got your fill of shrimp cocktail. Family makes fun of me because I always order shimp cocktail if available.
Thanks for reading! I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessed with shrimp cocktail. haha. My family just accepts the fact Im addicted to them at this point.

Here is the public beach:

Mom and I wanted to go shopping, while dad wanted to take pictures. So we spilt up, and headed to Margaritaville.
After looking around and buying some souvenirs for our friends and family, we sat down in the restaurant to relax a little bit.
We ordered some drinks, but our waitress never showed up with them... so we went back to exploring.
I wanted to go find some rocks and coral for my fish tank, so mom and I went down to the shoreline to look around.
-
I ordered the eggs benedict, which was very good as always.
Mom ordered an omelet
Once breakfast was over, mom and I went to meet my dad back in the room. We stepped out on the balcony and watched the Glory dock into Grand Turk. While looking out, we saw a sea turtle come up to the surface, which was super cool to see.
After a few minutes, Eric (the cruise director), made an announcement that it would be a good time to exit the ship as the Magic would be docking shortly and things would get crowded.
So naturally, what happened? Well, this...
We stood on the stairway for about 25 minutes not moving at all before Eric made yet another riveting announcement... "The gangway has been closed to let the Magic dock, and will be reopened momentarily."
Seriously dude? You just told a ship full of people to leave, and then stopped us. Grrrr.
Mom and I decided to go get diet cokes at the bar, and relax around the ship to let the crowd clear out some.
Finally, we were off...

I had a spa appointment to get a facial as soon as the spa opened up, so I got up and took a shower before heading up to the spa.
The one thing that drives me crazy about having early spa appointments is that they do wake up calls at ridiculously early times... so keep in mind everyone in the cabin will wake up too.
Anyways, I made my way up to the spa and was told to take a seat in the salon area to fill out my paperwork.
After a few minutes, I was greeted and brought into the facial room. I will say compared to some of the other Carnival ships I have been on, the Glory's spa was lackluster. Most of the facial rooms usually have picture windows to look out into the ocean, but not on the Glory.
My spa attendant was nice, but she rushed and got hateful with me at the end when I declined to buy any products from her.
After the facial, I went back to the stateroom to meet up with my mom for breakfast in the Platinum dining room.

For dessert the three of us requested a no sugar added option, which usually they tell us has to be fruit. Due to the fact we requested this no sugar option prior to the cruise, the chef made us Chocolate Panacotta. It was AMAZING!
After dinner, we were all super stuffed... This steakhouse was undoubtedly the best one we have been to yet! I would definitely recommend the Emerald Steakhouse to everyone!!!
We went back to the room to change, and were greeted with this guy...
After changing, we went and met the family in the theater for the Love and Marriage show.
The show was really funny as always, but the questions could use some revamping in my opinion.
Once the show was over we wound up going to the casino... like always, to end our evening.
The day was awesome, and the steakhouse was AMAZING!
Up next: Grand Turk -
And for the most shocking selection of them all... I ordered the shrimp cocktail. I know, not at all what you were expecting. haha.
Dad ordered the caesar salad
While mom got the bacon spinach salad (they also served this during the steakhouse cooking demo).
Now for the entrees:
Filet..
Lobster...
Filet and Lobster... -
The server brought out drinks and the bread service...
Then came the appetizers from the chef...
I believe this was Tuna.
For appetizers dad ordered the tuna:
Mom got the crab cakes...
-
The pilot boat was also pretty awesome to watch, as the driver kept honking the horn and waving to everyone.
It was still pretty early in the afternoon, so mom went and started some laundry while I took a shower to get ready for the evening at the steak house.
I realized I got sunburnt... from waiting on a bus in PR. I would have thought I would've gotten burnt at the beaches in St. John or HMC.. but no. :roll eyes:
Anyways, everyone got dressed up for our evening in the steakhouse... so of course it was time for a selfie.
After a short walk, we were seated in the Emerald Steakhouse!
-
Once back on board, my liquor bottles were confiscated and entrusted in the hands of Carnival.
We went up to Deck 10 and took some shots of PR as we sailed away, and grabbed some deli sandwiches for lunch.
Here is the Castillo San Felipe del Morro:
After eating lunch, we decided to go back to the room and relax on the balcony to watch the sail away from PR. They had a few planes land, which was pretty cool to watch.

So, while my dad was off taking these amazing pictures... I was standing outside in the heat of Puerto Rico with my mom and her aunt, waiting for this illusive trolley.
Eventually after waiting 45 minutes, we decided to walk... which was what I wanted to do in the first place. lol.
What was my reason for walking? Well, obviously so I could go shopping.
After shopping for a little bit, we walked back to the main street by the cruise terminal to stop by CVS. I purchased two bottles of my favorite PR rum, and a cigar for my bf before going back to the ship.
-
And just think......you saw all of this wonderful, marvelous history (which I wanted to experience).....and I got stuck at Senor Frogs with my 19-year-old niece.
Grrrrrrrr
Love your pictures of SJ!
lol. That's too funny! At least you can say you've been to SJ! :p Thank you for reading!
Loving your review! I will be on the Glory at the end of Oct!Thank you for reading! I'm super jealous of you!! Have fun!
Same ship, same locations, same dates and we never rsn into each other. Funny. That's crazy!
What 2 nights were formal nights? :DThe 1st sea day, and the day you dock in Grand Turk.
Enjoying your review! We did this same itinerary on the Glory last year and it was our favorite cruise so far!Thank you for reading!! The Glory is by far my favorite ship in Carnival's fleet (That I've been on so far). :)

In the fort, there was also a small gift shop that sold various PR related things. We made a few purchases, and made our way back to the trolley stop out front.
Meanwhile, my dad decided to walk back and take pictures along the way...
-
-
Omg just looking at these pictures again makes me want to go back to Puerto Rico so much!!
] -
-
Okay so forgive me for the amount of pictures I am about to bombard you with, but the forts are super photogenic!
-
Time to cover my favorite port, Puerto Rico!!
This day we arrived in PR pretty early, like 7 am early!
We got ready and went up to get breakfast burritos from Blue Iguana. After breakfast, we went down to meet my mom's aunt.
Last year in PR, we walked to Castillo San Cristobal and toured it on our own... so we kind of knew that we wanted to go to the other fort.
We made our way off of the ship, and found the trolley stop. The free trolley is a bus that takes you to various stops throughout San Juan... the forts are included. The first stop is right off of the ship, just walk straight and you'll find it across the street!
The trolley did not take too long to show up, and was a short 15 minute ride through SJ. We arrived at Castillo San Felipe del Morro, and made our way up the hill to tour.
The admission fee is $5.00, and includes entrance into both forts in San Juan. It is definitely worth it!
The views are spectacular!
-
Just wondering what you or anyone else would recommend for a night at the steak house? We are doing this same itinerary in April and trying to decide on the "perfect" night to try the steak house, so what would you do :D
thank Tara
I'm covering the steakhouse in my next post! Stay tuned!! :p

And of course I had to order a shrimp cocktail...
Mom got the bbq ribs, which she said were very good.
I ordered the fried chicken, which wasn't that great...
The dessert menu:
I ordered the Mango Cream Cake, which was one of my favorite desserts of the whole trip...
After dinner, the family went different ways. Most of us went to see Eric's (the cruise director) magic show. He was pretty entertaining, and fun to watch.
The show lasted around an hour, and we went to the comedy show in the Punchliner Comedy Club...
Once the show was over, mom and I went to get a drink at the bar and then back to the room for some rest.
-
Another view of a very stormy Trunk Bay
Fortunately, by the time we arrived there was no more rain!
We immediately went to the beach, and got in the water, which was very cold. Meanwhile, my uncle and his wife went to get hamburgers which were around $9.00 or so.
We swam for a little while, and dad went and snorkeled some. After a few short hours, we had to get back on our taxi to head back to the Island Girl.
The view on the way back...
Everyone on the Island Girl began to fall asleep, it was pretty funny to see everyone worn out from their beach day.
We got back to the ship fairly quickly, so mom and I decided to go order room service and take showers. Dad stayed behind in St. Thomas to take some pictures...
While mom took a shower I ordered room service... She got the turkey sandwich, while I ordered the philly cheesesteak and fries for $5.00.
After our lunch, we went to watch the sail away from the island and relaxed for a while.
Before we knew it, it was time for dinner.
For appetizers, I ordered the prosciutto ruffles and melon... which was very good.
Carnival Glory 6/25/2016 Review with Pictures!!

This show is definitely one of the best Carnival has as far as Playlist Productions. The cast was great.
