The dessert menu:
Mom got the tropical fruit plate:
I got the No sugar added Strawberry Parfait, which was very good.
After dinner, we decided to try our luck at the casino... where I won a small amount.
-
We stuck around Deck 10 for a little while, and then went back to the room to freshen up for dinner.
We dined in the aft dining room, Platinum, on the lower deck. Our family of 12 was divided into two 6 person tables located across from each other.
For the first night, I stuck with my usual SHRIMP COCKTAIL! Yes, I have an obsession. I'm a Louisiana girl, I was raised eating shrimp. I'm surprised I haven't turned into a shrimp at this point in my life. Anyways, the waiter--Wilfredo gave me a giggle and was very unsuspecting of my addiction. :D
I'm craving shrimp cocktail already...
Mom got the black bean empanada, which she said was good.
My dad got the shrimp spring roll... which seemed to be very popular with most of the family.
For entrees, mom got the sweet and sour shrimp.
I got the brisket, which was pretty dry and bland.
-
The room had a nice Queen size bed, that my mom said was comfy.
The balcony:
After checking out the room, we unpacked. We were very lucky that our luggage was there already. My Uncle's son-in-law, did not receive his luggage until well after 7 pm that evening.
We were unpacked, and I had eaten my Guy's Burger... all was right in the world. Until it was time for the dreaded Muster Drill. We waited a few minutes to head down to our Muster Station--'F'.
Once the drill was over, it was very crowded but we took the stairs back up to our room on Deck 7.
We enjoyed our balcony while waiting for the crowds to die down, and then went back up to Deck 10 to watch the sail away with my mom's aunt.

The bathroom was very spacious, and nice to get ready in.

We took some pictures and continued to catch up with our family, and decided to go see our Stateroom. We were in Ocean Suite 7314, which was located Midship and was in a very convenient spot.
The makeup/closet/vanity area:

After setting my food down at our table, I went to the Aft Pool Bar to grab a diet coke for my mom and I.
Our family began to board the ship, and join us for lunch. After eating and catching up, we decided to explore the ship.
We hit Deck 5 first, and walked through the casino...
Then to the lobby:
After people watching, and touring some of the ship we went back up to Deck 10 to take in the sights of the Port.

The taxi ride was very quick, and cost around $15 with a tip for the driver.
We were greeted by porters, and dropped our bags off to head inside to check in. Once inside, we were allowed to relax in the VIP lounge where water was available.
The VIP lounge started filling up, so we were escorted to a larger lounge near the main waiting area. Along the way, someone in our caravan went astray and the entire group was lost. It was pretty chaotic, and frustrating. No one from Carnival was there to correct this error and we simply wandered for a few minutes. Finally the woman leading us, realized everyone was lost and corrected things.
After a short 30 minute wait, we were brought to board the ship. Overall, the port embarkation experience was chaotic, and one of the worst managed embarkation days I have experienced thus far. But hey... things happen, no big deal.
We walked through the lobby on Deck 3, and went immediately to the Shore Excursion desk to grab our choice of Cabanas for Half Moon Cay. #10 was ours! yay!!
With that settled, our family went up to Deck 9 to grab some lunch.
I immediately got in line for the infamous Guy's Burger.
Hello beautiful...

We woke up the next day, got ready for the day, and packed our stuff back up. Everyone was starving, so we headed down a floor to the Lounge to grab some breakfast.
The Club Lounge featured a continental breakfast with potatoes, eggs, yogurts, fruit, breads, pastries, juice, tea, coffee, and soft drinks. You could even get a mimosa if you so chose. It was a very nice set up, and we enjoyed having breakfast before heading to the port.
After breakfast we gathered our bags, and exited the hotel. Outside, the bell service desk took fantastic care of us and our luggage. Within seconds a taxi van arrived, and the hotel clerks loaded our bags in the back.
With that we were on our way to the Port of Miami!

While at the shopping center, we made a stop to buy my mom new shoes and my boyfriend a cigar. The shopping center had restaurants, entertainment, and lots of stores. It was a nice way to kill some time.
We walked back to the Intercontinental, and went to the lounge to enjoy the evening happy hour. They had an open bar set up, as well as snacks.
After our snacks, we decided to go back to the room and relax for the evening.
Shortly after getting to the room, we received a phone call from my mom's aunt and cousin to meet them for dinner, so we made our way back to the shopping mall. Luckily it was not a far walk!
We walked to the Tradewinds restaurant, and were seated outside. It was an okay place to eat, but would probably not ever return again. I ordered the chicken tenders, and they were decent.
After dinner, we shopped some more and then walked back to the hotel to get ready for bed.
When we woke up the next morning, we were greeted with a sunrise and several ships docking... including the Glory!
Up Next: Embarkation, and Day 1 of our Cruise! -
The lobby of the Intercontinental had a restaurant, bar, complimentary fruit flavored water, a store, concierge, a Starbucks, and meeting rooms. There was also a pool, pool bar, and quick service restaurant.
After checking out our room, and dropping our suitcases off we decided to walk to the shopping area.
-
The hotel also included robes, an iron, ironing board, and a safe in the closet.
There was a mini bar, as well as snacks available for an extra charge. As part of staying at this hotel, we received two bottles of water as well as some mixed nuts to snack on.
-
The beds were very comfortable!
The bathroom had soaps, shampoos, lotions, dental kit, nail files, and a sewing kit.
-
We arrived after the check-in time, but our room was not ready yet. We were asked to go up to the Intercontinental Club area to relax while we were waiting.
I grabbed a couple of finger sandwiches, and a diet coke and took a seat. The lounge was not too busy at this time, and was a nice area to relax in.
The Club Lounge offered High Tea in the afternoon, Happy Hour in the evening, and a continental breakfast in the mornings. There was a wide array of beverage choices from coke, tea, coffee, and various beers/liquors.
After enjoying our afternoon snacks, we were alerted that our room was ready. We made our way to room 3007, and were welcomed with an awesome view of the Bay!
The room was very nice, and had a spacious bathroom and office area.

After about 2 hours, we began our decent into Miami!
The Miami International Airport is pretty big (well compared to what I'm used to in New Orleans), they have a Sky Train as well as lots of shops and restaurants.
We made our way to the baggage claim area, where we heard that due to a mess up we would have an additional 15 minute wait for our bags. No biggie, I ended up taking this time to check in for our arranged shuttle.
The bags arrived, and we exited the airport to wait in the shuttle area for pickup. There were hundreds of taxis everywhere, so if you ever fly into Miami do not stress about catching a ride! They are EVERYWHERE.
Finally, we were on our way to the Intercontinental Miami.

Hey Ya'll! I just got back home from an awesome 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Glory!
In total, there were 12 of us cruising together. This was my second time taking this cruise, and overall everything was fantastic both times.
We started off on Friday, the day before the cruise, by flying out of the New Orleans International Airport.
Once we arrived at our gate, mom and I decided to grab something to eat. I had previously eaten at Zatarain's Kitchen for lunch a few months before this trip, so we decided to try it out for breakfast. Both of ordered a Breakfast Po-boy with Bacon.
The sandwich turned out to be more bacon than anything. I tried to pick off most of the bacon, and ate what I could... but it was not good.
After our breakfast, it was time to board the plane. We flew American Airlines, and were seated in the very back.
The flight was pretty turbulent, but nothing major. We flew straight through some clouds, which was cool to see.

Carnival Glory 6/25/2016 Review with Pictures!!
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
We finished at the casino, and walked to the Ebony Cabaret to join the family for bingo and the Punchliner comedy club.
Of course none of us won... One lady won 2 of the 3 rounds, including a diamond necklace. Must have been nice...
Afterwards, we watched the comedian... who was pretty funny. We stuck around for the second comedy showing and then decided to grab a slice of pizza.
I must say Pizza Pirate was packed every night that I passed it. Pizza was VERY popular on this cruise, and it was delicious every time.
After our late night snack, we arrived back at our stateroom...
Overall Day 1 was great, and we were very impressed so far. The Carnival Glory had greatly improved since our last cruise on her in 2015.
Up Next: Half Moon Cay, cabanas, angry hens, and lots of food!
