  1. The views along the way to St. John were spectacular. We could even see St. Croix off in the distance!

Our driver was the same as last year, but unlike last year he did not pause very long for us to take pictures.

    28677899435_1c31ebf91f_z.jpg

Once we got to the view point overlooking Trunk Bay, it started raining directly over the beach. Unfortunately, I couldn't get as spectacular of a shot like I did last year... but if you want to see the amazing shot from last year the link to my trip report is in my signature under 2015.

  2. I'm back y'all! Sorry for the delay for anyone reading this, I had law school orientation for the last few weeks. I have a week off, so I am going to definitely try to wrap this up this week!

Without further delay, Day 3- St. Thomas!

We have been to St. Thomas several times before, and have always enjoyed our time there. We went on the St. John Trunk Bay excursion last year, and loved it so much we decided to go again this year!

While everyone woke up and got ready for the day, I went out onto the balcony and took some quick pictures of St. Thomas.

    28677938075_6b54b18c5c_z.jpg

Mom and I went up to the lido for a quick breakfast. The lines were crazy long, so we just grabbed some fruit and went down to Deck 0 to exit the ship.

    28572027362_b0b3a695a6_z.jpg

The Magic was also in port with us today, but things didn't seem busy at all in the port.

Once off the Glory, we walked to the end of the pier to board the Island Girl for our excursion to St. John.

    28571996872_a37b4a06f4_z.jpg

Onboard the Island Girl, we sat inside with the air conditioning and could purchase beverages for a few bucks. It was a short 40 minute ride to St. John, and once we arrived, we boarded open air taxis to get to Trunk Bay.

  3. Great review so far -- excellent photos. Keep it up -- looking forward to your reviews of the other ports.

Thank you so much for reading! I'm working on posting more right now!

Great review!! Thank you. Can't wait to read more. We go on glory in April!!

Thank you for reading! You will have an AMAZING TIME!

We will be on the April 15, 2017 Glory sailing!!

Hope you have a good trip!

  4. Following the show everyone went their separate ways... Mom and I went to the casino for a few minutes and then decided to head to the room to get some rest.

I was kind of hungry, as I didn't eat much of my steak at dinner... so I ordered the Chicken Tenders for $5 from room service.

    27763097724_cbef118c1c_z.jpg

The chicken tenders were not really worth $5... they were super crunchy and hard. But, I ate them and they weren't completely awful.

We also had a towel animal monkey waiting for us...

    28300999761_5680ed6d9e_z.jpg

and Carnival gave me a $25 wine credit for my birthday. Very nice of them!!

    28346265646_abd4d041c7_z.jpg

After watching a movie and eating my tenders, we went to sleep in order to be well rested for the next day in St. John!

I will definitely try to update ASAP, but law school starts tomorrow... so bear with me everyone! :) Thank you for reading thus far!

  5. I decided to be adventurous and try something new...

    Shrimp Cocktail.

I know, I know... it was out of character for me to order such a delicacy... :)

    27599646634_e543330c43_z.jpg

For entrees, most of the table ordered Shrimp and Lobster...

    27934815050_19050411b7_z.jpg

My Uncle's Son In Law ordered 8 plates of lobster. No Kidding. I would have to be carried out of the dining room on a stretcher if I ate that much lobster.

I ordered the Prime Rib, which was pretty great.

  6. There were two people from my round that made it to the top of the leaderboard, but I was not one of them.

My mom's aunt wanted to go to the Hairy Chest Competition, so we went up there to watch.

    28111458452_a03cf34d25_z.jpg

The Competition seemed to go on for quite a long time, so I joined the line to get a Guy's Burger.

    27600292153_e20cc08a9a_z.jpg

No... I do not have an obsession. Don't judge me.

Mom and her aunt were still watching the competition, so I enjoyed my burger solo. Afterwards, they decided to check out the buffet for lunch.

    Mom's plate:

    28137866001_8058491e5e_z.jpg

I grabbed some fruit, and hot tea for dessert... which was delicious!

    28181647176_4c58f91e20_z.jpg

We wanted to go back to the room to relax for a little bit, and do some laundry...

When we got to our door, we saw that one of my mom's aunts had decorated our door.

    27599667104_5d5148b329_z.jpg

Being that most of the family we traveled with lived in Tennessee, they enjoyed taunting me with this awful traffic cone orange they enjoy wearing. As a graduate of LSU, I immediately wanted to remove the signs... but didn't. Instead, I sought out retaliation towards my uncle... who is a diehard Volunteer fan. (gross).

  7. We arrived at the Steakhouse, and viewed an excellent presentation on several dishes.

    27599721724_08921d495a_z.jpg

The first dish we were given was Mushroom Cappuccino... and OMG was it amazing!! I cannot wait to try to cook it at home, once I finally have time. haha.

    28215461615_9c2c6ede4c_z.jpg

After tasting of this dish, they gave us a spinach salad with bleu cheese dressing. I hate bleu cheese, so apparently this prohibited me from even taking a picture of it. Mom said that it was delicious, however.

Next, we received chicken with macaroni and cheese, and potatoes. Similarly to the mushroom cappuccino, the macaroni and cheese was life changing!

    28111471942_154543c844_z.jpg

At the conclusion of this presentation, they gave everyone tiramisu.

Mine was wayyyy too sweet, but still delicious.

    27600295603_0a76efa93a_z.jpg

Not surprisingly, we were stuffed by the end of this demo. By this time, the Slot Tournament was happening so I went and purchased an entry ticket.

    28137880931_8c974af9df_z.jpg

While waiting for my round, we waited in the EA Sports Bar and relaxed.

  8. Sorry for the delay in update everyone! I have been crazy busy this week, with lots going on.

Without further delay... Day 3- Sea Day

We decided to start our relaxing day at sea with a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana.

    27599737854_35fe3e4296_z.jpg

I love that the burrito bar features a wide array of hot sauces and salsas!

    28111477922_a8d543995f_z.jpg

For my burrito, I got a jalapeño wrap with chicken sausage/eggs/cheese/veggies/and salsa. It was delicious! I wish i would've visited the Blue Iguana Burrito bar more during the cruise...

    27599731674_b83200bcb3_z.jpg

    The seating area:

    28111475492_c0789487a3_z.jpg

After breakfast, we wanted to go walk through the Fun Shops and check out the items for sale. I fell in love with the Michael Kor's watches, and these beautiful gems.

    27599727304_0583fe74f2_z.jpg

We shopped for a little while, and then went to the midship elevators to head up to the Emerald Steakhouse for the Cooking Demo.

Elevators during this cruise were not doing so great... we saw several elevators with signs in them stating they were not operable at the time.

    28111473792_eea12ba44f_z.jpg

  9. My wife and I are in that same suite in a few weeks. You didn't happen to hide a stack of hundred dollar bills around for some lucky future cruiser did you?

Seriously, was the location quiet and convenient for everything?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Thats awesome! Haha, no unfortunately I did not leave any money laying around. :p

The suite location was perfect, it was located near the mid ship elevators with NO noise at all. Easy location to get everywhere! You will love it!

    FOLLOWING!

I will be on this ship in 95 days!

Awesome!! Thank you for reading, and I hope you have an amazing cruise!

Loving your review! Great pics! We'll be on the Glory in 46 days :)

PS - I had shrimp cocktail every night, too.

Thank you for reading! The Glory is my favorite ship, you'll have a great time!

Shrimp Cocktail is the best! Good choice! haha.

  10. After dinner, the family went to see the Motor City show. It was a great show, and the cast did an amazing job.

    27862978400_d34bae2006_z.jpg

The show was great, so afterwards we decided to go to see the comedian in the Ebony Cabaret.

    27862976430_5540178767_z.jpg

The comedian was okay, but nothing super hilarious. It was around 11 pm, and there was the Mega Deck Party going on so we went up to the Lido to see what was going on.

    27862974410_2540c79fc0_z.jpg

There was a lot of dancing going on, and lots of crowd involvement which was fantastic! Towards the end of the party, I tried to teach my mom and aunt how to do the Wobble... which was pretty funny. After the deck party, we walked around the ship a little bit and went to bed.

    Up Next: Sea Day!

  11. After washing the sand off of our feet, mom and I entered the line. We got towards the front until mom realized my dad had her Sail and Sign card. He was no where around at the time, and the line was growing longer and longer. Finally he showed up, and we were through security on our way back to the Glory!

The tender was pretty packed, so we walked up to the top and took a seat.

    27863045460_1a1b77e17e_z.jpg

    28109705596_e4c636ed5b_z.jpg

Once back on the ship, we went back to the room to clean up and rest some before dinner. Mom and I took short naps, and then got ready for dinner.

    27528963743_6c9dc1e4a9_z.jpg

At this point let me complain a little bit about Early Seating dinner... I found that 6 pm was somewhat too early for me to even be hungry enough to eat. Most of the time, I didn't really eat my entree and would end up being hungry later. The pros to Early Seating is that there are a lot more opportunities to do fun entertainment related things around the ship in the evening.

So, once at dinner our waiter brought out my diet coke and took our orders.

Mom had the chicken noodle soup:

    27862988840_3f390730e6_z.jpg

    Dad had the Tuna:

    28065722951_95fc24afd1_z.jpg

I had shrimp cocktail (shocker, I know):

    27528995923_6462f88664_z.jpg

  12. They even had a pirate ship playground area for kids, it was super cute.

    27528838944_bbc662ceb2_z.jpg

    27529057993_0387909d23_z.jpg

    28109736036_1b4f82604e_z.jpg

I wish we could have stayed for the whole cruise at least! Half Moon Cay is so pretty!

    28065821291_c918da17e2_z.jpg

    28065812781_a29d09e823_z.jpg

Once back at the front of Half Moon Cay, they had foot washing stations located prior to entering the line to get back on the ship. The only problem was that there were only two of them, so things got kind of hectic.

They also had some local craft booths set up, which we glanced over briefly.

    28065725561_f4d9504839_z.jpg

  13. The BBQ area had many different pavilions and places to sit. While walking to get in line, a very angry rooster began to chase me.

I'm not a fan of chickens, roosters, etc... so I threw bread at it, and it left me alone. haha. I have issues, I know. :p

    28065770661_1fb5292f24_z.jpg

After eating a very burnt hamburger, it was definitely no Guy's Burger... that's for sure, I walked back to the cabana to relax for a little bit. We continued to swim for a little while and then decided to go back to the ship to take showers.

Along the way, my dad snapped some great shots of the island:

  14. I'm in this pic! White shirt at the BlueIguana Bar.

Hey, that is pretty awesome! Thanks for reading. haha.

That sandwich looks like a dream come true! Thanks for posting, I am enjoying all of the photos.

If you like bacon, you would be in heaven eating it. Thank you for reading!

Wow! HMC looks amazing! Will definitely have to schedule a cruise with it on the itinerary. How often do ships miss HMC because of weather, anyone know?

HMC is GORGEOUS. It is definitely a must do in life. I have heard of them missing ports due to wind, but its a tender port so I'm really not sure! Hopefully someone else has that answer! Thanks for reading!

  15. It was a gorgeous day, and we were loving our time at Half Moon Cay.

    28144591295_cdd4569953_z.jpg

    28144583495_5eaeaabdef_z.jpg

We relaxed in the water for several hours, and snacked on our snacks throughout the day. It was an amazing experience!

    28040376172_f959b5d616_z.jpg

    27863006560_f615f5e608_z.jpg

We decided to take a break from swimming, and go check out the BBQ. We took the short walk, and discovered they had salads of all kinds (pasta, lettuce, potato, etc.) as well as chicken, burgers, hot dogs, and various desserts. We grabbed our plates, and brought soft drinks with us from the cabana.

Along the way, dad and I took pictures of the island.

    To Be Continued...

I'll try to finish up Day 2 after I come home from work tonight! Thanks to anyone reading!

  16. With the purchase of a cabana, you receive a tray of veggies, fruit, chips and guacamole, 2 large waters, and 8 soft drinks of your choosing.

    28065780951_7cbb0f8986_z.jpg

The Cabana also had an air conditioner, misting fan, two lounge chairs, a table with four chairs, snorkel gear, and four floats for the water.

Our cabana, #10, was very conveniently located near the restrooms, as well as the beach bbq.

    28065776231_b0f490a0f2_z.jpg

Of course at our arrival time, and most of the day actually, there was minimal amounts of people near our cabana. It was almost like having our own private beach!

They have several villas available for rent, and several of them seemed to be empty the entire day. We would have definitely rented one for the entire family, but they told us they were sold out! Oh well.

    28065886681_30af3d4759_z.jpg

  17. Thanks to everyone for reading my review so far!

We woke up on Day 2 prior to our 9 am arrival time, and went up to the Lido deck to eat breakfast.

But first, it was selfie time!

    28109684226_71bb7d8d15_z.jpg

Mom and I grabbed a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana, while dad ate some coffee cake.

After breakfast, we received notification to meet in the Amber Palace to wait on our tender. Once we arrived down there, they were taking all of the shore excursion ticket holders off the ship. It was a short process, and we were on our way to Half Moon Cay!

    27528930604_66f1071966_z.jpg

After a short tender ride, we arrived at the check in area for our cabana.

They had a very nice themed bar area at the front of Half Moon Cay, as well as a small shopping area with local handcrafted goods.

    28109682576_d73765dc41_z.jpg

We were told to grab the shuttle that would drop us off at our cabana. After a few stops, we arrived at Cabana #10!

  18. Great photos!

    Thank you!!

Great review and pictures! I can't wait to read the rest. I have sailed on the Glory twice, and sailing on her for a 3rd time in August!

Thank you for reading! The Glory is a great ship!! Which itinerary are you doing?

We were on the Glory in late December/early January. Great ship, loved our cruise. We didn't have the Half Moon Cay stop though, we went to Amber Cove.

We also stayed at the Intercontinental. Fantastic hotel and a great location. Makes it even better when you get upgraded to a suite when you book on points.

Ohhh very nice. Yes, the Intercontinental is phenomenal!

Great review! Only have to wait a year and a half to sail on Glory (but it looks like it's worth the wait:)).

Thanks for reading, I hope you love the Glory as much as I do!

Following. Can't wait for our cruise on the glory in January.

Thank you for reading, you will definitely love the Glory!

    Thanks for the review.

    Thank you for reading!

I remember most of those places. ;)

    Fun trip.

    Yes! They are amazing places!

    following...going on Glory in Sept!

    Thank you for reading!

  19. What a great review so far. I can't wait for you to post more pictures. When I look at your pictures, it really takes me to that place that reminds me of past cruises and to the excitement of my next cruise. Thanks for that!!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you are reading and enjoying it so far! I hope to post more tomorrow at some point.

We stayed at the Intercontinential in Feb. and I did not know they included any breakfast or sandwiches. Was this included or did you pay extra??

It was extra, we stayed club level which included the use of the lounge. Mom caught a deal that wasn't much more than paying for a regular room and hopped on it. It was definitely worth it!

Great review so far. Thanks for posting. That suite looks beautiful. One day someday I hope to stay in a Scenic Oceanview.

Thank you for reading! The suites are very nice to have the extra space, especially in the bathroom and on the balcony. I'm very lucky my parents are hooked on getting them every cruise! :o
