Not a surprise. They have no plan yet to be able to resume sailing. They cannot afford to have a outbreak of Covid19 on a Princess ship. Do not see cruises as we know them restarting until there is a vaccine that is widely available.
December 2021 cruise on the Discovery ? wonder now about the status of the completion

Hopefully, the mods will make this the main thread about this and combine the current and future threads into this one main thread ...

YEP - how about that "gaming the system paying off 🤑 ... now about that pesky "bankrupt" thingy ...
-
well, you can rule out the Royal and now Majestic ... as far as cruisers on this board are concerned ...

Only a $1000? LOL.
we've had this cruise booked for a long time - first as a 'Getaway' promotion with BEST2DG and a $ 100 NON-Refundable deposit
over time, we have taken advantage of price drops, Princess Plus, upgraded to a Cat BB, NR deposit credited back as FCC, and we placed an additional $ 200 RD to bring our 'investment' to $ 300 for a long time
when Princess started cancelling cruises and offering 'double your amount paid if not paid in full, well we gradually started
increasing our 'investment / exposure' to what it is today .. basically 'gaming the system' as one previous poster so eloquently put it

Folks jumped at those FCC deals which were often 125%, 150% or even 200% of the payments they had made on cancelled cruises.
I'm hoping for the 200% FCC for cruises not paid in full when Princess cancels our late November cruise.
Looking at basically a same type cabin / cruise in April 2021, the cost is about $ 50 pp pd more than our currently priced cabin, admittedly we got at a very good rate. We've 'only' got $ 1,000 in play right now and still about 60 days to final payment due.
Prolly take a refund if only 125% offered knowing it would be 120+ days to see the money back in our account

Did your price stay the same or did it go up. Mine went up ☹️
that, and any increased deposits, 'should' be just a temporary glitch, imagine that, in the Princess system according to posters

Mine too! My initial deposit paid for the Grand is still showing, but says I owe $1200 more by July 24th or will be cancelled!
Yikes.
Pooh
previous threads have stated this is only a timing error ... due to the change of ships and / or itineraries ...
call Princess or your TA before sending ANY more money

There are also alcohol packages, but in my very judgmental opinion, these are only for the alcoholics amongst us. You need to drink a LOT for these to be worthwhile.
the so-called "alcohol package" is about $ 15.00 pp pd when bundled with the Princess Plus package of grats ( 15.00 ) and wifi
( 10.00 ) for a total of $ 40.00 pp pd
$ 15.00 pp pd for NON-ALCOHOLIC unlimited beverages including bottled water, specialty coffees, juices, fountain soda, etc.
plus up to 15 alcoholic drinks valued at $ 12 and under ... hardly ALCOHOLIC in MY VERY NOT SO HUMBLE OPINION.
stay hydrated
stay safe
peace out

The only S5 suites on Regal are the Forward suites. The middl/aft suites on Riviera d3meck are S4 suites.
what did Princess or your TA state when you contacted them ?

we also got it ... hope it's more than just a rah, rah event and unlikely to get into too many specifics and dates , which really are prolly not known at this time anyway ... but just at least announce cancellations thru October, because no way those are happening anyway

No problem. Flights are available and there will be lots of late model cars from estate sales.
We'll make it work, no worries.
14 day cornteen from Canadian flights? IF borders are opened ... sure

gonna be a cold-ass winter for all the K-nuck snowbirds who can't drive down to the USA / FLORIDA, eh ?

Nice to know Canadians are welcome. As businesses all over have suffered so much, I for one plan on spending my vacation money in Canada this year.
Agreed - maybe Canada will buy some of the ships for sale, flag them, and then sail them where it wants to ... effectively ending all
Princess ships sailing out of the USA to Alaska needing that foreign stop in Canada ?

preference over the Star or the Royal?
I would be surprised if even one person ( on this board ) would say the Royal over the Star for Alaska
Lot's of traditionalists who prefer the 'golden days' of the smaller ships with the full promenade deck for viewing
in Alaska

Safe bet that no cruises will be sailing for the rest of the year.
"IF" that happens 🥃 (always half-full) ,,, I hope they announce cancellations before the end of September ... (our final payment due date)
-
Effective 7/22 - ( no time period stated for re-opening ) - guess those Eastern Caribbean cruises are on hold , as if they weren't already

I am trying to sign into their website and it says having difficulties or I can’t even sign in. I have closed my browser and turned off and then on my iPad. For those who have technical smarts what can I do to see my future cruises.
🥃 🍷 🍸🍻 and try again tomorrow after normal Princess weekend maintenance

You guys in the UK will be cruising long before us in the USA. My guess is no cruising here till there is a vaccine.
so the UK'ers will be cruising without a vaccine ? hmmm ... good for them, I guess
what could possibly go wrong ?

we're playing the 'wait and see' game for our late November cruise, with a late September final payment date ... and then the somewhat still new 30 day before sail date with FCC and refunds ... if ANY cruises go, this could be one of the first ... and in some perverse way ... I hope ... well, anyway now off to our local (Publix) with required mask in hand ...

I guess that Princess will be next.
Let's hope so after the Ruby Princess bashing ... let them have P & O Australia for their cruises ...

how do you determine who gets it first?
not to go into too much detail ... but we know someone who works in the entertainment industry, who gets tested in the morning
and has the results so they can work the next day
also know someone who works in a medical care facility - they get tested on Thursday, and will get the results back on Tuesday, after working on Fri, Sat, and Sun without either them or the facility knowing the results
Money talks ... follow the money

well, we are now trying to decide ( unfortunately, not cruising ) how to spend a day or two in a couple of weeks to
celebrate a birthday ...
1) day trip to the Atlantic Ocean - about an hour each way - hang out on the beach, then go to a nice, casual seafood restaurant on the intercoastal - then drive home
2) get up early and drive to the Gulf - specifically Siesta Key Beach - about 2 1/2 hours, get a motel room just to shower and sleep, go out to a nice, again casual seafood restaurant, go to the beach again the next day, then drive home after that. We've done this exact trip before Covid -19 and really enjoy it ... but just have to consider that staying in a motel ...
both of these trips would be during the middle of the week, so hopefully fewer people ...
