  1. But for people who have to avoid the sun, or just don’t want to be in the sun, this is a real problem. NO SHADE AT ALL. There should be a way for them to address this issue.
  2. There are no loungers in the shade, except for about 6 pergolas open to a first come first served basis. The others are reserved for Owners Suites, only. We found this to be a real problem on the Seascape. They really should address this issue, because everything else about the Yacht Club experience was excellent.
  3. We were guests on MSC Seascape last week. We had a Handicapped Accessible cabin in the Yacht Club. We were amazed at the attention and concern given to us by all the crew members. Everyone knew our names, offered help whenever needed, and made our cruise wonderful in spite of physical problems that occurred occasionally. We found the food in the dining room to be very good and service excellent. The lunch buffet on the pool deck was very good, and again, service excellent. Live music accompanied our dinners, and the views from the dining room were beautiful overlooking the ocean and ports from way up high. Our balcony cabin was very large and the balcony itself was enormous. One of the greatest perks was the electric door and ramp, that required just a push of a button to operate, making it very easy for my husband to go out on the balcony. We did try to go to the theatre, but had problems with the seating due to the fact that all seats required a step down, and when using a walker, this becomes difficult. Also, the pool deck lacks shading. There is no shade up there at all, unless you were lucky enough to get one of six units protecting you from the sun. These were generally gone by the time we came up on deck. We will cruise in the Yacht Club again in the future, I recommend it highly, especially if you are physically challenged, and even if you’re not.
  4. We have sailed on over 175 cruises including Regent. However, our longest cruises were on Holland America and Cunard. We did a 59 day Grand Cruise on HAL’ s Rotterdam in 2016 and enjoyed it so much, that for the next two years we signed up for the over 100 days Cunard World Cruise in 2017 and 2018. We just loved it and did not want to get off the ship at the end of the voyages. There was so much to do on board, enough port time, and lovely lazy sea days to just relax and look at the ocean. Give the long cruise a try, you will become addicted.
  5. I also traveled solo on Navigator last month, and had a fabulous time. They certainly know how to take care of their solo travelers. My husband was not able to join me, so I decided that I would cruise on my own. From the moment I got on board, everyone was so friendly. There was a scheduled get together in the lounge with an option to continue to the CR for dinner. Our group of eight were so congenial, that we continued dining together, joining for trivia, bridge, excursions, etc. The Asst. Social Director, Lucy, was just wonderful, friendly and joined us for dinner on many evenings. She was also instrumental in making dinner reservations for our group at the specialty restaurants as well. I look forward to cruising as a solo again with Regent, now that my husband’s health does not permit him to cruise. My only wish would be that Regent institute solo fares for all of their cruises.
  6. Were there any issues from noise from below (theatre)?
  7. On most other luxury liners a solo traveler pays double the fare, so they don’t actually get what they pay for. Good for Crystal for offering this to solo travelers.
  8. I am interested in one of the solo cabins on Deck 7. They are all forward and over the theatre. Has anyone previously stayed in one of these cabins and are there any noise issues?
  9. I'm an old fogey also, only showers for me. Thank you both for your advice.
  10. We are trying to decide on one of these two cabins on the Mariner: 755 or 806. One is forward above a gym area, and one is toward the aft. We are light sleepers and noise would be a problem. Which would you choose?
  11. I read the sticky before posting. Not enough information, that’s why Imposted.
  12. We will be cruising on the Mariner in Nov. I am wondering if there are any cabins or sections of the ship to avoid because of noise or vibration issues? I am a very light sleeper.
  13. If you are in the YC, do you have to pay full price for specialty dining in other restaurants on board? If you get military discount, does it pay to also get Match Status for dining discounts or Diamond dinner?
  14. We had the approval the next day.
  15. We were able to get the military discount for our MSC cruise. Does it also pay to try to get Match Status as we have high status on many cruise lines? Also, if we are in the Yacht Club, are we entitled to any other discounts on board?
  16. We just received a Yacht Club upgrade offer to a deluxe grand suite on Deck 19; we are currently in a deluxe suite on Deck 18. I would upgrade except for the fact that Deck 20, where the pool, etc. is located right above us might be noisy. What has been your experience with the 19th floor on MSC Seascape?
  17. Thank you all for your comments and recommendations. I was also told by my TA that specialty restaurants were included, no extra charge. Is this so?
  18. Thank you. I can sort of read upside down. I didn't see any mention of eggs or omelets. Are they also available?
  19. We will be taking our first cruise on the Seascape YC in a few weeks. I would appreciate it if you could answer a few questions about dining in the Yacht Club. - Are there shared tables for people who may want to dine with others that they are not traveling with and as a way to meet new people? - Is there a buffet available in the YC for lunch? -Are you able to eat in specialty restaurants outside of the YC without an extra charge; if so which restaurants are they? - Does the butler make reservations for you to dine at these restaurants? - Are in cabin menus available for breakfast and do they include hot food like omelets and bacon? Thank you in advance.
  20. I have just completed my cruise on the Navigator and enjoyed every minute of it. We dined in all of the restaurants, and food was consistently good in all of them. We spoke in advance with the Maitre’D at Setta Mari and he reserved a table for 6 that evening for dinner. We were accommodated quickly in Compass Rose every evening. We dined in Prime 7 once and although we enjoyed it, we were just as happy dining in CR. Looking forward to sailing on the Navigator again.
  21. I am also on the Navigator now. After cruising on the Explorer and the Splendor this past year, I am also enjoying the Navigator. It is not as “glitzy” as the other two ships, but still nicely decorated and comfortable. The service has been wonderful, much more attentive than on the Splendor. Pool deck stewards are forever bringing cold drinks around, I had a difficult time getting one’s attention on the Splendor. After day one, I have not had any problems obtaining a lounger on the pool deck, actually, many have been available at all times. I have dined in Compass Rose and Prime 7, and will dine in Setta Mari tonight. The food in CR was very good and my lobster in Prime 7 was delicious. Also, I found the service much better in the Navigator dining rooms than on either the Explorer or the Splendor. I miss Chartreuse and especially Pacific Rim, but other than that, I am really enjoying the Navigator.
  22. I was able to get a balcony cabin on deck 6 forward, so I am happy about that. Thank you all for your information.
  23. Has anyone stayed in cabin 602 on the Navigator. It is a window suite, no balcony. There are cabins above it but I see only empty space beneath it on deck 5. It is also a connecting suite. Any noise issues below this cabin?
  24. Are there any special provisions made for single cruisers aboard Windstar motor yachts, such as: single get togethers, shared tables with other singles, etc.? I know that other smaller ships do have these amenities.
  25. On our last cruise on the Splendor we saw that there was a dedicated singles dining table hosted by staff every night. We saw them dining in all of the specialty restaurants as well as Compass Rose. Is this the norm on all Regent ships? It looked like they were all having a great time.
