I'm Elite so can use Persian Gardens on  port day for free. When I tried this on my recent Edge cruise was told no you have to pay for a pass as the E ships spas are under a different contract. Pretty unfair if you ask me as Celebrity doesn't specify.

What was the cost?  You should have had that amount added as onboard credit until they change their written tier perks.

  2. Hello all!

Back on dry land for a few weeks.  Damage done was up 2.2 pounds on last round of cruises.  I'll take it!  Now back to getting it off before the next round.  We again have the grandson (16 months) so that will help.  Belle must be cruising. Hope she is doing better in the casino than I did.  Gotta go... baby boy is in to everything this morning!

  3. We loved Bimini!  Rented a golf cart for $60 for the day.  We recommend getting out of the resort area and enjoy the island.  We found beers from 2 for $5 to $10 each.  Just have to watch for price of items.  Had wonderful conch fritters for $6.  Went to Radio Beach.  Got away from the small crowd and had a beautiful area to inflate our floats and bask in the sun in the clearest water.  The Bimini people are very nice and welcoming.  We felt very safe and enjoyed our day.

I see that you are right there in Alabama-so close, maybe? I would definitely sail on this ship again given the chance-just for the cost and proximity to where I live for sure!

You are probably closer than us.  Our son lives in Gulf Breeze and he can get to Mobile quicker than we can.

Oh, I had one more thing I wanted to say about this cruise and especially in comparison to some of the older Royal ships, like say Brilliance or Radiance. For an old gal, there were a few rust spots around and about, which my Coast Guard husband feels some crazy need to point out, Lol...there were no weird smells anywhere! I have this dreadful superpower of supersmell and I usually really have a tough time with odors  on some of the ships-especially those mystery foul sewage smells that emanate from not only the bathrooms, but random spots throughout. I did not detect these odiferous emanations anywhere on the ship! Now, there were definitely a few passengers who didn’t pass the sniff test, but to each his own! Kudos to Ecstasy for not being a stinky ship!

Thanks about the report of facial recognition.  On some cruiselines you are asked to wait in cabins until your number is called.  No blocked stairways or hallways and you are more comfortable.  These same lines still are able to clean the rooms for the next voyage passengers to board.  I don't know why Carnival can't improve their process.

Also good to know about the smells!  We sail on her in September.  We no longer book aft cabins on Carnival due to horrendous smells on some other ships.  Like you I have superpower supersmeller also😄

  6. Heidi's has excellent burgers!  We have rented golf carts and explored an old WWII installation that is on the island.  We used flashlights and would go in one area then come out on another part of the island.  Kinda like the Dharma projects on Lost.  Creepy but cool!  The gun turrets are still there.  The war ended before the actual guns were installed.  I very interesting exploration.

  7. Hi All!

Getting ready to start back with our cruising.  Weight stayed the same this week.  I knew last week was too good to be true😄 and wouldn't happen b2b.

Jan so glad things are going well!  Rest and recover.

Izena we are always in the Caribbean.  I do tend to prefer the southern areas like Bonaire and Curacao.  We go to same islands all the time.  Makes it fun trying to find something new to do each time.

It is warm here too.  But we are getting frequent rain.  Makes the grass grow like crazy!  My poor husband has spent 1/2 the summer on a lawn mower.  That is one reason we don't cruise too much during the summer.  We will probably need a bush hog when we get back from this next cruise.

The chromium thing is interesting.  Will have to investigate that one.

Hope everyone does well.  I will be back in a few weeks....Susan

  8. Sorry to come in late.  Thursday got our 2nd booster.  Have been sick as a dog!  Actually did a covid test because I was feeling as bad as when I had it.   Of course it was negative.  Weight was down .8 last week.  Again..little by little.  Feeling better this morning.....finally.

  9. Busy day.  Have the grandbaby again.  Down 1 pound this week.  At this rate I need about a year to get into my cruise clothes!  We cruise next month.  That's a problem😄.  I will make the best of it.  Not the worse thing.  At least have lost some of what I had gained......Susan

  10. We were booked on Reflection b2b.  On second day of first leg we won a drawing in casino for a suite upgrade for rest of cruise.  Due to lower capacities of the sailing we were allowed to keep our balcony and just moved what we needed  for this leg.  On second leg moved back to balcony.  Actually we won a drawing in future cruise for a suite upgrade the same night that we had won in the casino!  Since we could not use 2 suites and they were all booked for the second leg we were given suite privileges for second leg too!  What a crazy coincidence.   Everyone told us to buy lottery tickets on the way home.  Didn't work😄

  11. Hi all.  Did not mention that on our last and 17th cruise since covid I brought home a case of  covid.  Husband never did test positive so Jan I wish that for you.  I isolated and masked like suggested.  Then we got our grandson for a week.  He gave me a cold that made me much sicker than covid did.  From here on out I will only take care of well babies!  (Just kidding of course)  Hope everyone has a wonderful Fourth.....Susan

Today was Puerto Plata DR. The cruise port was built by Carnival. It is 25 acres of shops, pool area, small  and went back to the cool of the ship.

I might be wrong but I don't think Carnival built the port.  Their port is Amber Cove in DR.
