  1. this info may be late, but the Buck Island Tour we did through RCCL was on a powerboat after the bus ride, not a catamaran. And no, it did not stop near the island. This tour was set up just for snorkeling - no relaxing sail or beach break. Though we enjoyed the rum punch on the way back and the snorkeling was amazing!

I have been wondering about this trip too and from I read on the website the snorkel time was only 1 hour. So, a lot of traveling. Did it seem like enough time?

  2. I am so new at this as I do not like to fly. I booked a cruise next April in Tampa but want to fly to sarsota two days before I board in Tampa. I looked up one way non stop flights to Sarasota with Jet blue and they have no flights from Jan on. Does that mean they stopped that route. they have been flying there for a while. I am beginning to panic so I would appreciate any info anyone has. Like I said I do not know how flights are set up.

    Thank you in advance

    marie

Also, consider flying into Tampa and driving to Sarasota - but only if it is a better deal. Then again a car may come in handy for 2 days.....

  3. I am actually okay with the thread being closed. I believe it has definitely served it's purpose and it has been running consistently for 7 years!!! :p

There are now so many of us that love our AOS - we can simply respond to questions as they arise.

CHEERS to everyone that kept the thread alive for so many years!!! WE did a great job!!!! :D

That thread was the reason I finally booked the Adventure. Figured that I better sail her before they move her!

Robyn, thanks for all the great info you have provided and for all the posts of this cruise. It was really enjoyable and I can't wait for 2014 :D

  4. It took me two days of bidding. I started at $90 for a 4 star in downtown, then added city center, then added 3.5 stars, then 3 stars. When that didn't work I went up to $95 and added the area Brothel (knowing I didn't want to stay there, but that they don't have higher than a 2.5 star hotel in that area) which allowed me to bid again. I bid $98 and was rejected. So I waited until the next day an starts out at $100, 3 stars+ and it was accepted. So I put in the same for our return cruise date and again it was accepted. :) hope that helps!

PS-Dates won are May 12-13 and May 21st

Thanks for the additional information! You worked hard for that deal so congratulations!!!

We are arriving on May 22 for 2 nights so maybe I should start the bidding now....

  5. we are booked for a Voyage of the Glaciers cruise with Princess , Southbound. We did this cruise in 2006 only we did the Northbound route. On the northbound route we did College Fjords, and we really loved that . We can't get the cabin and the date we want next yr. We had to book the southbound route. will we be disappointed with Hubbard Glacier? Any help would be appreciated.

The southbound voyages include both Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay which is a fantastic itinerary :D Enjoy!

  6. We sailed in D707 on the Island and experienced no noticable vibration at all. We weren't trying to catch up on lost time though. It was smooth sailing from Vancouver to Whittier :D

The aft deck is the perfect place for viewing and when there was narration we could usually hear it from the end cabins - when those passengers were viewing from their balconies and had the speakers turned up :)

  7. Yes, that looks like a great cabin but how do you think the noise will be around the elevators? All of those cabins look good but just worried about the noise.

Anyone have any comments on noise level around elevators?

    Thanks,

    Nanc

Although I haven't sailed on the Caribbean Princess yet (cabin E416) I have sailed in many similar locations on a lot of ships. Never had a problem with extra noise around the elevators. Often times I find the ships have a little alcove area for the elevator area and passengers don't actually spill out in front of cabin doors anyway :)

So unless I book an aft balcony I prefer to be center ship - near the elevator :D

  8. Love this thread and thanks so much for doing this.

We just booked the Caribbean Princess for April and will be in E416. I will definitely take a picture and send it to you as well as any other cabins in the area (if I can get them) :)

We moved to E411 on the Sapphire based on your picture so thanks again!
