Not anymore....
 the Cucumber Martini is gone?! I even got the recipe for that to make it at home!

WOW I didn't know the restaurants were of such low quality in Philly
While I enjoy the Specialty restaurants onboard they don't compare to land based in San Francisco.
Oh no, they are certainly not low quality! They are just very expensive for an equivalent meal.:)

That's terrific!:D:cool:
Congratulations!

It does not, but of course, they will try to sell you other stuff!:D Still, it is an extravagant indulgence and I swear we both stayed relaxed for 6 weeks afterwards.

My 2 daughters & I cruised on the Oasis in September 2013. We went to all of the speciality restaurants except 150 Central Park. We absolutely loved the dining in these restaurants. We did not like the food in the MDR. We were very disappointed, both in quality and taste. We are going on the Allure in October 2014 & very much looking forward to the speciality restaurant dining. Does anyone have favorites on the Allure?
Yes!
You need to try 150 Central Park, especially the Cucumber Martini!!:D We also loved the Chef's Table and Izumi!

for dietary issues you need to contact special needs, not the concierge, who has nothing to do with restaurants other than to make your reservations for you. then once on baord stop by the maitre D at each restaurant to remind them.
I have a shellfish allergy and Chef's Table was able to adjust on the fly with about 10 minutes advance notice.
Thank you both!:D I will contact special needs. Do you guys think it is too early now?

P.S. Spookwife, my son works at the White House!;)

We have always been fine with the MDR. We've met some of the best people at dinner, some of whom we still keep in touch with. That being said................
Since cruising on the Allure in 2012, we are addicted to the specialty restaurants!:D We live in the Philly area and you simply can't get a meal of the quality offered on board in any land based restaurants close to us for the prices offered!
We don't splurge on a lot of extras on a cruise but feel that the dining packages are well worth the money spent. We will be doing the Chef's Table package for the third consecutive time in January and have yet to be disappointed! We loved the package on the Radiance as well as it included 5 restaurants!!
Anyway!! Just curious to know if anyone else enjoys the packages!

Thanks, Bob!!:D Is there anything you don't know?! You are amazing!!

I did find the thread on here about who the Concierges are, but I couldn't find the answer to this question:
How long before a cruise should you contact them with a special request? My husband is lactose intolerant and although we have it set in our preferences, it often gets missed. We are doing a lot of specialty dining and I just want the restaurants to know this in advance. When they do, even the MDR goes out of their way to serve the appropriate foods and they do a wonderful job.
Also, is this something I should even contact them about?

We recently cruised as solo cruisers. We experienced the same thing......single cruise points. When we called and pointed out error, they applied our points. However, they seemed to do another audit of our accounts and took points away going back to 2005 and 2007. They said we were given too many cruise points in the conversion because we were given credits for a suite. We can't proove what we had going back that far. Now we keep our cards. So I lost 23 points.:(
That stinks!:( Can you go back and look at your cruise history on the RCCL website? There must be a way to fix that issue.
For the OP, I hope your points issue works out and soon.:)

Good for you. But I would suggest that you post this in your other thread you already have going. It belongs there IMHO
You are correct.:) I should have posted it there. I am very sorry if I offended anyone. I am just very excited.

:D Sorry, for driving you guys nuts, but I was actually able to order luggage tags again!!:D:D:D
Signed,
Guess who's staying in a Crown Loft Suite?!?!?!?
P.S. You are allowed to roll your eyes!

I got it three but we also have a cruise in 46 days!:D It doesn't seem like anything they don't offer onboard anyway!

What an awesome question!
When we took our first cruise, I had to literally beg my husband to give cruising a try! Now, we are going on our tenth cruise and it is our preferred way to see the world!!:D
What makes it great for us is a combination of no stress, meeting great people, getting to enjoy each other fully, only unpacking once, getting to see lots of great places in a week or two and of course, the awesome entertainment and food on board! In other words, we love the whole package!!
Tara
P.S. I forgot great weather is also a plus!:D

Thanks for your concise, honest review. At least you tried this style of cruising. While we personally love it, we realize it isn't for everyone. Glad you had a pretty good time!:)

Thanks, as always! Perhaps we will just get one package now that that is a blessed option. I drink way more than my husband does and he would be just fine with what is offered on that list.
You guys are AWESOME and I love this site!!

Still nothing for me yet! Arghhh!!! lol I may call today just for fun. :D
I hope you hear soon! I would be going insane!! Just know that it took a while for us to hear and we got an awesome upgrade!! Good luck!!

We love pretty much any breakfast on a cruise!!:D We eat stuff we normally wouldn't and love to try the different options available.
I also agree that anytime someone else is doing the cooking and cleaning up, it tastes wonderful!

So, I was really looking forward to purchasing the new drink package that includes pretty much anything that I would drink, but am I correct in thinking that I really don't need it now?
Also, are juice and water offered and how is the coffee?
I AM SO NOT COMPLAINING!!:D
Just wondering..........

Thanks, you guys!!:D I thought I would wake up today and be over it, but not yet!!!
In fact, I just checked my reservation again to make sure it was real!! My husband also said that he may not get me back into a "regular" stateroom after this, which we were absolutely fine with before!;)
Now, we are trying to decide whether or not any drink packages will be worth it or necessary.
Tara:D I can't knock that goofy guy off of my face!

Congrats, Bill!!:D:cool: That is awesome news!!

I am traveling in Enchantment for NYE. My concern is that January 1st will be in Nassau all day and night. Will the commerce be open, since is a holiday?
Wow! I just wanted to say how jealous I am that you will be on a cruise over New Year's Eve! How fun!
Have a wonderful time!

I won a thousand bucks twice, once on the Allure and just recently on the Radiance. :D. You would have thought that I was the next contestant on The Price is right!
Tara
P.S. Those are the only two times that I won anything significant. I do okay at blackjack.

:D Well, first of all, my secret upgrade isn't so secret anymore! About a week ago, I posted that I had won a nice chunk of change at a local casino and that I used the money to upgrade to a GS guarantee and was going to surprise my husband......
After an extremely long week of waiting, I finally found out that we will be staying in a CL suite!!:cool::D. I am beyond excited and I just couldn't keep it to myself, so I shared it with my husband. We are extremely thrilled and I think this will be one of my favorite birthday weeks ever!
Now, I am off to research anything and everything I can find out about our suite!!
Thanks for listening to me ramble!
