  1. Has anyone done this specific tour with Royal Caribbean? It says you spend 2 hours at Magen's Bay and 2 hours shopping. The tour includes a stop at Mountain Top and it's listed as a 6 hour tour so I would assume the other 2 hours are spent at Mountain Top but I'm wondering how long it takes to get there and back so that it's really more like an hour there rather than 2 hours. If anyone has done this tour, could you please give your opinion and what you liked or didn't like about it. Thanks.
  2. Island Lady, what is the walk like from the port to Grills? Someone said because of the road configuration it would be more like a mile to walk instead of a half mile. Is it on a busy road? How long did it take?
  3. Thanks so much for this picture! It looks really nice. I think that's what we'll do, drop off our rental car and head to Grills until it's close to our arrival time. Thanks again.
  4. Thanks so much for this information. It's good to know there are some places we might be able to sit or to Uber to Grills and have breakfast and wait there for a couple hours. We are on Wonder so we'll be at Terminal 1. I assume it would be easy to get an Uber from the car rental to the ship and from Grills to the ship? Also, we would still have our carryons with us so would we be able to take them with us to Grills? Has anyone walked from Terminal 1 to Grills? It looks like it's only maybe half a mile but someone mentioned that it was more like a mile to walk due to the configuration of the roads and how many ships were in the port. My husband and I would be fine with walking if we don't have to walk on highways or if it's longer than a mile.
  5. If we were to drop our luggage off a couple hours before our arrival time, do you think it could get lost or mixed up with luggage for passengers disembarking from the previous cruise?
  6. We have an arrival time of 11 a.m. for Wonder of the Seas out of Port Canaveral. How early would they let us drop our luggage off the morning of the cruise?
  7. We will have a rental car to return the morning of our cruise sailing out of Port Canaveral in a few weeks. There will be 6 people all together. We had planned to have my husband drop us and our luggage off at the pier while he returns the rental car and then he can take a shuttle from the car rental to the pier. We have an arrival time for the ship of 11 a.m. Right now our car rental return is 8 a.m. I picked an early time at the time I booked it because the last time we did this several years ago, the car rental place was just mobbed, there were no seats left and we waited over an hour to take the shuttle to the pier and finally we gave up and walked with all our luggage to the pier. I was wondering if there's any place there at the pier to sit. We have a person in our party who has health problems and would not be able to stand there waiting for 3 hours to board the ship. Should we just return the rental car later in the morning closer to our arrival time for the ship? I was hoping to avoid doing that because it was such a mess at the car rental place before but if there's nowhere to sit while waiting to board at the pier, I guess that would be our only option. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
  8. Thank you. Do you know if it's better to check in on the website or the app?
  9. So then we can get our arrival time first, scan the passport and then do the photo later?
  10. Do we have to upload a picture when we check-in online? We were on Anthem several months ago and I don't remember doing that. I know they took our pictures when we were boarding the ship. I found a checklist for online check-in on the RCI website but it doesn't mention uploading a photo. Also, when it says you have to scan your passport, would I be able to use a photocopy of my passport to scan if I don't have the actual passport? Thanks for any information.
  11. We will be on Wonder of the Seas in a few weeks and want to take a cab from the port to Magen's Bay and then head to Mountain Top before returning to Crown Bay. Would we be able to get a cab right at Magen's Bay to go to Mountain Top? When we want to leave Mountain Top, how would we get a cab to return to Crown Bay? Several years ago we took a cab to Mountain Top and had the driver wait for us while we had drinks and shopped but she came into the store after a short time and said she had to leave. We'll have people with us who have never been there and we would like to spend time there and not be rushed. From what I've read, there aren't cabs readily available at Mountain Top. Would we be able to call for a cab from Mountain Top? Thanks for any advice.

  13. We also have a late arrival at 12:30 and want to go to Magen's Bay but I'm wondering with 4 ships in port, will it be so crowded we won't be able to enjoy it?
  14. Can anyone recommend a beach resort for a day? A few months ago we cruised on Anthem and went to Riu in the Bahamas which we booked through Resort for a Day. It was all inclusive for food and drinks. We loved it. I haven’t been able to find something similar in St. Thomas. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
  15. When you say, for example, $30 for a taxi, there are 6 of us so would that cost be per taxi and include all of us? Are the taxis able to accommodate that many people? If we were at Topper's or the bakery, how easy would it be to get a taxi from there? Thanks for your help.
  16. We will be on Wonder of the Seas in a few weeks and have a few places we want to go and I'm wondering if it's possible to do this on our own due to distances and available transportation. We'd like to go to La Sucriere Bakery, Topper's Rhum Tour and Maho Beach. We also want to have a couple hours to shop and maybe eat in Philipsburg. Does anyone know how far it is from the port to any of these places? Would we be better off starting with La Sucriere or Topper's first and then going to Maho Beach to see the planes in the afternoon, since I read that the big planes usually arrive in the afternoon? Our ship is in port that day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Should we take a taxi and if we do, would we be able to get a taxi back to the ship from there easily? What would be the approximate cost of taxis to do this? Thanks for any advice.
  17. Thanks. Do you know if there's a chart anywhere listing drink prices?
  18. We just became Diamond members after our Anthem cruise this past April. On past cruises we've always purchased the Deluxe Drink Package but with the 4 included drinks per day, I don't think we'll need it. My questions is with the Deluxe package, we've ordered certain brands of liquor, such as Grey Goose and particular kinds of tequila. We will be able to do that with the 4 drinks included with Diamond or are top shelf liquors not included?
  19. Does anyone know how far in advance you can book shows on Wonder?
  20. We just got back from a day pass at RIU which is on Cabbage Beach. We really enjoyed it there. The resort is gorgeous with a huge pool and also an infinity pool with a swim up bar. The beach there was beautiful. We booked it through Resort For a Day and it was $129/person and included all food and drinks. There was a DJ playing music at the pool. We got a cab from the port for $25 and the resort called a cab for us to return for the same price.
  21. Do you remember how much the cab ride was from the port to RIU? We are leaving on a cruise Sunday and have a day pass for RIU. We plan to grab a cab right when we get off the ship but I'm trying to find out what the rate should be.
  22. Yes, but how would I know what the rate is supposed to be?
  23. We will be docking in Nassau and have an excursion booked at Hotel RIU Palace on Paradise Island, which is on Cabbage Beach close to Atlantis. I've read on the boards to be careful knowing what the cost of the cab ride should be in advance so as not to be overcharged. How would we know what that is? Are there posted rates at the pier when we get off the ship?
