  1. Thiank you. Is it walking distance from Crown Bay to get to Charlotte Amalie?
  2. We will be on Voyager of the Seas in a few weeks out of San Juan and are checked in with a boarding time of 12:30. On our past several cruises, we didn't have an individual assigned boarding time and just showed up around 10:30-11:00 a.m. and got right on the ship. Are they strictly adhering to the assigned boarding times now? We have to be out of our hotel at 11 a.m. and were thinking of going right to the ship then.
  3. Yes, that's it - luggage valet. We used it once for a cruise out of Florida. That's too bad that it's not offered now. That was very convenient.
  4. Thanks for replying. I called RCI and the rep said they have no info and that we wouldn't be able to find out anything until we were on the cruise. If we could stay on the ship until 9 or so, that would be great.
  5. We will be on a cruise in November on Voyager of the Seas and the last day when we disembark our flight isn't until 6 p.m. On previous cruises a few years ago we were assigned a time when we would leave the ship and it was based on the time of your flight. Is this still the case? Can we request a later time to leave the ship? Does anyone know how late they would let us stay on the ship? Thanks.
  6. We will be on a cruise in November on Voyager of the Seas and the last day when we disembark our flight isn't until 6 p.m. I know one time years ago RCI had an option that allowed you to pay to have them transport your luggage to the airport for you and hold it until your flight . Does anyone know if this is still an option?

  8. Do you usually have to wait a while for an Uber pickup? Are they reliable as far as showing up? It sounds like Uber might be a better choice than a cab. Do you know if Uber has access to pick people up at the port?

  10. That's the type of thing I'm looking for. We will be on Royal Caribbean and I just looked at their excursions and they do offer a couple tours on the last day. I need to find out what the latest time is we can leave the ship so it takes up more time before we get to the airport. Thanks for your suggestion!
  11. We will be on a cruise in November which ends on a Sunday in San Juan at 6 a.m. Our flight to go home isn't until 6 p.m. Does anyone know anyplace where we could store our luggage for the day so we wouldn't have to lug it around San Juan if we wanted to go shopping or to a restaurant? Also, are there any tours, maybe on a bus, where we could take the luggage with us and do a tour for the day and then maybe be dropped off at the airport in the afternoon? Any information or suggestions anyone has would be very helpful. Thanks.
  12. We're in the process of deciding on a cabin on Wonder of the Seas and I'm wondering if the smoking area is on the port or starboard side. If you have a cabin on that side, are you likely to smell smoke on the balcony of cabins on particular decks?
  13. We are looking into booking a cruise on Wonder of the Seas. I thought all the Oasis class ships had pretty much the same venues but it looks like Wonder has some different features. We did a back to back on Oasis a few years ago and just loved Dazzles with the live band and dancing. Does Wonder have a lounge or a venue similar to Dazzles?
  14. Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. We've gotten the drink package on our last couple cruises but this one coming up has no sea days at all so I'm thinking it might not be a good deal since we'll be in ports a good amount of the time.
  15. Our deluxe drink package for an upcoming cruise on Voyager just dropped from $70 per person to $65. What is the average price for an alcohol drink, such as a martini, margarita, etc? For anyone who has cruised recently, were the top shelf liquors they list on the package available or were they out of a lot of brands?
  16. We are looking into possibly booking an Eastern Caribbean route on Wonder of the Seas on October 8, 2023. We've never cruised that time of year and I just read that October is a bad month for hurricanes. Would we be taking a pretty big chance cruising this route in October? I always thought August and September were the worst hurricane months but after what I read, maybe I was wrong. Anyone who has experience that time of year, could you tell me what your experience was. Thanks.
  17. We have a Viking river cruise planned for this August and are thinking of canceling based on some recent posts on these boards saying a good portion of the passengers tested positive, were asymptomatic, and had to quarantine in their cabin until they could be sent off the ship to a hotel for the remainder of the quarantine. I would like to hear from anyone who has recently been on a river cruise with Viking as to what their experience was and if they know if a large number of people tested positive. I'm wondering if this is just a small minority of people that have been affected and if people feel it's generally safe to be on a river cruise. Is Viking still requiring the daily testing and masks while onboard the ship as well as on excursions? I'd appreciate any information or advice about this as we need to make a decision soon. Thanks

  19. Did you have insurance with Viking? We are considering canceling our upcoming trip in August. We have insurance through Viking and if you had their insurance, I would like to know if you had any choice which hotel you were sent to and if everything was paid for. Were the buses for the excursions packed? I read they were only filling the buses halfway to allow for social distancing. Would just the two of us be able to dine at a table alone at dinner or would we definitely be seated at a larger table with other people?
  20. So were you sent to a sub-standard hotel for the remainder of your trip? Did you have Viking trip insurance? I called them a few days ago to ask about what would happen if you test positive and if you would have a choice what hotel you had to quarantine in and they said they couldn't say but that they would assist you in finding a hotel and the hotels Viking chooses for the pre and post cruise excursions were nice hotels and they're sure it would be of that quality. From everything I've read and in talking to other people, it seems with these variants that even with vaccines and boosters people are still testing positive so it makes me nervous to think of being in close quarters with other people on a ship and potentially being kicked off to spend the rest of the time in quarantine.
