Yes it's upsetting especially for loyal Princess Aussies. That's not me by the way yet to sail with them. Did have a booking with them once then had to cancel lost my deposit. They would not let me transfer to something else or give me credit. Unlike in the US.

No never on a maiden voyage. Technically, its not its maiden voyage, just what Princess is calling the cruise.

 

Also when checking around various TA's on this price it seems like its cheaper to book direct with Princess. So I keep my booking with Princess.

Ok. I worry about booking early in Australia does Princess pass on price drops or is it for only new bookings.

One thing that annoys me about Princess is that for example they have a Sip and Sail promotion available to US market and do we get that down in Australia. Noooo.

Agreed, it is also about priorities for yourself, do you want a particular cruise or cabin etc, If not, just wait for something to suit your budget.

Agree what I am looking for this time is a cheap getaway not something on my bucket list. Guess that's why I did not jump in on the Solstice ( love this ship). Although I am not sure I would enjoy P&O.

US/Caribbean or Asia/Sub continent to Med but needs to be a bargain of course.:D

Moving 2 Celebrity Cruises 1 to Ultimate Caribbean Reflection and 1 to Westbound Panama Canal Infinity Mar/Apr 2018. Had booked these reservations to Barcelona in US$ ages ago. Unfortunately now to expensive to do. So hoping our dollar may change for the better in 2018. Deposits were given back to me in the way of OBC on my last cruise so these reservations don't really owe me anything.

I agree, after July the Dec and Jan deals should start to come through.

Thanks Sarah I will keep my fingers crossed. I was nearly tempted to book the Solstice 9th Dec but it was expensive. Especially when you add air fares from Coffs and a nights hotel stay in Syd.

I checked X Solstice 9 Dec 2016 cabins and there didn't appear to be many left yet x were actually trying to encourage sales by adding free flight syd-akl. Am I missing something!!

Likewise, I have been trawling all my usual sites and nothing is grabbing my attention as a bargain or a must do. I need something for 2017 and 2018.

There is one thing that has taken my fancy Princess 5812a Japan & Alaska 23 days April 2018. But I would like a balcony for Alaska a bit pricey. No incentives for booking early. Never been on Princess before so no past pax discounts. I guess I will wait and see what happens a long way off.

At present I am suffering from lack of future bookings with nothing locked in for 2017. Sweating on a bargain for either a Trans Pacific to Seattle on Explorer in April (then probably a last minute Alaska) or the Ovation repo to Singapore B2B into Sing-Tianjin.

 

As I would like to spend a while in China after the cruise either works out. Cheap one way flights on Sichuan Airlines direct from Vancouver to Nth China for under $500 which includes 2 x 23 kg bags so fine for post cruise. Have points for China back to Syd on Singapore Airlines in business which will be a first for us.

 

Of course any great last minute local cruises next summer will be snapped up.

Well if you or Sarah can't find anything there's not much hope for me.....lol. have been looking hard for 2017/18

Hi, I need some help from you great cc ers

Just put a 24 hour hold on the 19 September 2016 11 night cruise Greek Isles and Turkey. Got a great price booked through celebrity site.

It shows me the price, shows traditional 6pm dining but when I get into the booking on my celebrity it shows i am on select dining and grats are added in.

We prefer traditional dining, and grats I pay with OBC as I will be using a FCC.

I plan to call them tomorrow morning but an curious and would like to know if I can avoid paying grats up front and therefore have a good nights sleep.

I've gone through other on line agencies a few showing available but past history tells me i am best to book direct when using a FCC.

I have heard that X is trying to get people to book select to stop using obc for grats. Few people have complained that the traditional seating gone even so far in advance. Best to ring them.

Celebrity, HAL, RCI in that order. Would like to try Azamara and Princess.

It really depends on the security staff on the day/cruise as some will enforce the rules and others do not.

I guess that's true. The worst that can happen to you is they confiscate and give it back to you on the last night.
