  1. Hello "Lady" good evening to you, thank you. Yes, everything from the two day early flight to San Juan to all the islands and everyday beaches we went to, the flight home was all an excellent adventure. We'll be off again in early May on the Adventure.
  2. Disembarkation day, well that's another story. Everyone was supposed to be out of their cabins by 8:30 and go to assigned locations. As it was as soon as you were in an open area a crew member told us, if you're ready you can leave the ship. That caused a backup at the Customs checkpoint right after you got your luggage. ALTHOUGH if you're Pinnacle there's a separate line that bypasses others going through Customs. Sort of like a priority line. One of our party members was Pinnacle and we're all D+ so that worked out perfect to disembark. I guess you can do a Walk Off" by 7:30-8:00 with no problem.
  3. Sailed on 3/19-3/26. Cabin Attendant told us that the new choose a morning or evening cabin cleaning would begin for all cabins below the suites for that ship on 3/26. Told us that they've been told by their supervisors, absolutely no exceptions to the new rule which is making them nervous where some attendants will have up to 24 cabins to do. Basically, even a generous tip to clean your cabin twice would get them in trouble Other things from menu selections to reduced food portions as well as less quantity in drink glasses are all a reality and have been covered extensively from previous posters, otherwise the staffing was pretty close to normal, the ship was in good condition considering the maiden voyage back on November 18, 1999. Any questions feel free to ask.
  4. Just looking to see if they've already implemented the new cabin cleaning choices as of the first week of March 2023? I've noted that the Wonder along with some of the Quantum class ships have already started. If they haven't begun yet, maybe your cabin attendant might have the answer. Thanks in advance.
  5. Neighbors just returned yesterday from the Enchantment out of Baltimore. No changes on that ship and were told nothing definitive on a start date. Has anyone currently or just off their cruise already have that started yet? If so which ship? We're on the Voyager in March and Adventure in May.
  6. When is your cruise? I was in on a RCI broadcast this afternoon with the DSM fronting it, i asked her the question of "when will this take effect in the whole fleet" and was told nothing definitive has come down from Miami on when it will take place. It's probably going to happen but they either don't know for sure or are keeping the lid on it until they're told to talk about it openly.
  7. Thank you island lady. Well, that certainly is a bit more realistic, but in any event, lots of work for lousy pay they get.
  8. I can understand your pain as well as your drummer/husband's. Granted, the attendances are mostly small for the sets but where can you go to for a nice intimate setting to listen to music that we look forward to ? Jazz on 4 has always been in a quiet setting.
  9. If the cabin attendants are going from 17 or 18 rooms to clean to 35 rooms I can understand why they'll be overwhelmed with work. Id hate to be the first cabin and the last cabin they clean daily. So, can you imagine for Day 1 what his job is going to entail trying to get ALL their rooms ready to be inspected before the pax's arrive.Geesch !
  10. OH boy!!!! that's good information to know Island lady seeing that we'll be doing that 7 nighter from San Juan the middle of March. lots of posts to read up on here . Thanks for your reply.
  11. As a jazz drummer ( as you can see in my larger photo) I feel your pain. Jazz is jazz, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder fall under Pop music. When I'd go to Jazz on 4 I would have expected to hear just jazz music. We like the Promenades on the bigger RCI ships, something that none of the Celebrity ships have. If they did we'd be sailing on them.
  12. Perhaps I missed something, has this taken effect on all the RCI fleet? Or specifically the Voyager and Adventure that's coming up.
  13. 1025cruise, I should add, we'll be on the Voyager OTS next month and trying to get ideas on the best beaches from the best of the best informed fellow cruisers.
  14. Are there umbrellas, lounge chairs and bathrooms at that beach as well?
  15. In mid March we're stopping in St. Croix, St. Kitts, St. Thomas. A small group of us are looking for beaches that are would be the best, and closest to the Cruise Ports for swimming, (not rocky, we're not going to snorkel) and rents lounges and umbrellas. We've been to Magen's Bay many times so that's off our list. Anyone out there with your suggestions are much appreciated, thanks in advance.
  16. Fiona, are you saying I can secure my boarding time TODAY if i use the mobile app without putting in any Check in info?
  17. Thanks everyone for your replies. So can I assume that 45 day window to do the on line check in will also be when I choose my arrival time as well? Things used to be so much simpler .....
  18. We're 99 days out, payed balance and looking to do the Check In as I've always done in the past after paying off the balance. I'm still getting "check in unavailable, we'll send you an email when you can". When did this go in effect, is everyone experiencing this? What's behind this, it doesn't make sense, I realize that there's a 49 day wait before boarding to obtain luggage tags to print out. So has this policy changed too? Thanks in advance to those who reply.
  19. Supposed to be bought from Canada now. No more Maine lobsters. Save a dollar here, save a dollar there now.
  20. Usually the WJ does have a different theme each night at a different station while other stations have different staples along with the usual comfort foods to choose from. I'd be shocked if the WJ catered to the same dishes that are being served in the MDR.
  21. I may have missed someone's post, so I'll ask now. The menus show seven different selections for each day, so if you're on an 8 or 9 or longer night cruise, how do the menus work, do they go back to day one and go from there? Secondly, has the new menu had any effect on the food selections in the Windjammer, meaning, are the selections the same as they were before the change. Has there been more guests going to the Windjammer nightly or on certain theme nights where guests aren't thrilled with the menu of the day? Thanks in advance to those who reply.
  22. So, folks with ALL the good replies so far mentioning all the available test kits, proctored or not, does Royal accept them ALL as proof ? And has your insurance covered them fully or partially ?
  23. Glad for you, most of my replies are from Florida. Up here in Mass there are no more CVS's that it's done and in neighboring NH at very few at Walgreens.
  24. Over the past few weeks CVS and Walgreens have drastically reduced both test sights and appointments. This is becoming a problem where tests have to still be performed two days before embarkation and in some cases the PCR test results are taking two days to come back with the results. One person told me that Walgreens never provided them with the results of a Rapid Test, though fortunately they were not taking a cruise. Flying from point A to Florida is only three hours but being denied boarding because of not getting back test results will certainly ruin a cruise. Has anyone run into this situation, if so what did you do. Thanks in advance to those who replied.
