  1. I agree with you on the crazy kids! In my experience, the shorter cruises are filled with drunk parents who could care less where their kids are. Last year on the triumph, two little ****s kept getting in the elevators and pushing all the buttons and hopping back out. I never saw them with parents for 4 days or I would've said something. We have an 8 year old and I'd be mortified if she did the things some of those kids do. Not to mention you never know if a sexual deviant is on the ship so you need to know where your kids are at all times!

Yes, bad on your part you didn't pick a good location due to noise from deck 5 but I'm with you 100% on respect. Kids can run all you want on the other decks but when there are cabins keep it quiet.

  2. We switched back. I just hate not being so close to everything - once you are there you cant go back! I think she will be okay on the trundle and frankly, I think she will still fit on the small couch. I just don't understand why the 8-11 floors use trundles instead of uppers.

  3. My just turned 5 year old HATED camp carnival. She would throw herself down as soon as we got to the hallway so she stayed with us the entire cruise. At 6, we never saw her it seemed. You just never know how they will react. If you truly want to let loose find a sitter and leave the kid at home. You never know how a child will act with complete strangers.

  4. I switched our 8D on the Lido deck to an 8C on Empress and I'm questioning my decision a bit. I just wasn't comfortable with my daughter being in a trundle an she could get an upper if we moved. Those that have been on theupper levels and Empress, do you feel further removed from the action ?

  5. Guacamole is the best! Also the grilled fish is worth the price of entry alone, I love it!!! The serving sizes are huge, we didn't even get to dessert!

My favorite drink is the Bahama mama. Hubby drank Sol

We just rent the floats for $4 and float all day

  6. Conquest - it was our first cruise and the we brought our daughter for the first time 4 years later. I like the layout of the Conquest class. The Magic was so big I never found my way and maybe because it was Spring Brek but it was so crowded, we never could get in the pool or get a seat close enough to watch my daughter.

  7. Thanks for the input! We bit the bullet and I booked the Triumph super saver OV for $1436 - with gas to NOLA. And a hotel overnight we came out even so we chose the nicer ship. We are cruising on the Dream in March so we will go down early then.

  8. If drugs or violence were involved then I agree with it. I'd kill my child but I just can't see them getting kicked off for hiding.

There was a guy on the Magic who was smoking with a Nasal cannula and had an Oxygen tank in his wheelchair next to the casino bar. I told security and the purser's desk how dangerous it but he was seen smoking the entire trip. I've had people smoking marijuana in a cabin next to us and security came but nothing happened.

  9. This will be our 6th cruise and we are trying to get away cheaply since we did Disney and a cruise last year. We've cruised the Triumph and love her but a balcony is $1950, and OV is $1736. We can go super saver OV for $1445 but I don't like not knowing my room assignment. We can drive 4 hours and do the Elation for $1100 and on Empress (there are only ocean views on the Elation).

The drive doesn't bother me but the Elation is old and not as many things like Guys and Blue Iguana Cantina.

What are your thoughts? I can do a lot with and extra $600 but I'm wondering if I'll be dissapointed in the Elation.

  10. That should make her happy. Was thinking this place or paradise beach

Mr sanchez is visible from nachi - she might see the fun inflatables in the water. If I were bring my child I'd go to mr. Sanchos.
