  1. Well yes, but I'm not sure I would agree with the definitive way you put it.

If you were talking NCL then sure the "way" better would apply.

But lots of good MDR meals as well as a few free lunch places really rock.

Atmosphere and less crowds clearly favor the for pay specialities.

Because I find Carnival food a bit meh!

  2. I order the Short Ribs one night and the Steak another night. Then I will usually order the Carbonara the third night. Yes we love it so much that on a 7 night cruise we eat at Cucina 3 nights. We also eat at the steakhouse one night.

In my opinion' date=' the food and service and worth the upcharge .

And the Tiramisu and Lemon Sorbeto. Are to die for!!![/quote']

Definitely on Carnival the upcharge restaurants are way better than the ones included in your cruise fare.

  3. Actually the Magic is in dry dock now. She has been in Freeport for 2 weeks. She sails back to Galveston possibly today. She has a sailing tomorrow. If you go to Carnival's website and look up the Magic. Go to dining and onboard activities. Right underneath each options it has a button to view more. Once you go there you can see everything that is coming soon. There will be a banner across it. Guy's Burger, Blue Iguana Cantina, Red Frog and more! She leaves for PC in April.

She left Freeport on Thursday evening, so I guess she will be reaching Galveston tonight!

  4. There is a casino in the cruise village right at the dock. Carnival Casino at the Renaissance hotel with better pay out than the ship's casino.

This is correct. It's a 5 min walk from the ship to the casino @ The Renaissance Hotel. You can even win a Kia car. Every other week someone wins a car. More than 110 people have already won one! To win the car you have to go to the dedicated slot machines.
