  1. The only indication currently is that she disappears in August from St. Maarten and re-appears in late November.

There are a couple of factors that might influence this. While not needing the 5year mandatory mechanical dry dock, they could do a design and feature enhancement dry dock.

September and October are week periods from PE and cruises have in the past been heavily discounted.

The mini-season on Oasis was extremely successful demanding very high daily fares.

I highly doubt it, that she will be taken out of service for an enhanced dry dock.

  2. I used to look forward to lobster night until I ate lobster in Maine! I don't think I'll ever eat an overcooked /defrosted ship lobster again!

With that said, I understand those folks who may miss it.

I suppose you guys will just have to start booking longer cruises. Just one more day(6 instead of 5) will get your lobster back.

Living in the Caribbean where i get them fresh out of the sea, i can tell you that those lobster were just so so!

  3. Been on both, loved them both.

However, I recommended the Summit to some cruise friends that are very loyal to Royal and they did not like it at all. I guess we just get comfortable to what we are used to.

I would not hesitate to cruise on either one again.

I didn't care at all for the Summit either.

  4. We just returned from the August 2nd sailing of Indy...Pure paradise!

The ship was great, service was excellent & the crew was very, very friendly.

Enjoyed our cruise director Leigh Xuereb & activities manager Frank the Tank.

I was on St.Maarten when the shooting of the police officer occurred during the attempted robbery. I was about 6 store fronts away. The shop keepers told us all to get inside their stores & they slammed down their metal gates to keep everyone safe. Very scary for everyone. Once things calmed down, many of us ran to the water taxis to return to the ship. Captain Loy made a couple of announcements about the incident & made passengers aware that they had people on staff to talk to if anyone needed to do so. St. Kitts was very nice. Once past the taxi drivers & private tour people, no one hassled you & the store owners were very friendly & helpful.

We have been on 12 RCCL cruises, & all the way around, this 1 ranks in our top 3.

Unfortunately the police officer past away. He was sent to the Dominican Republic but they couldn't do anything for him.
