  1. We loved the martini bar on the Summit and went several times. We’ve stayed in everything from an inside cabin (only once and never again!) to a junior suite. I’ve always been very happy as long as I had a balcony. We love so many of the activities on a ship, especially the evening shows and live music, working on our tan by the pool, relaxing on my balcony or sun deck with a good book, comedians, cocktails, the silent disco, good food, and great service! I hope I don’t feel I could never go back to a standard balcony cabin, but am looking forward to an upgraded experience.
  2. I didn’t realize I could order anything off the Timeless menu in Luminae. That would cover me any nights I don’t care for something on their menu. Besides, my biggest worry was their side dishes didn’t sound appealing and without them I wouldn’t get full. I like sauces on food, just many include mushrooms which I won’t eat. A filet, Caesar salad and potatoes is something I enjoy. Someone else said they pulled the 4 ounce filet from the children’s menu.
  3. After looking at the menus again, most nights I could easily eat an entree, it’s the sides that aren’t to my taste. I booked Fine Cut Steakhouse for night 5, which didn’t have anything appealing on the app.
  4. Thank you. I will. Should I make those ahead of time or is it easy to get in? I love steak and Ruth's Chris is one of my favorites. We just ate there last week.
  5. This will be our second Celebrity cruise and first time in the retreat, which leads to some questions. I'm somewhat of a picky eater and my husband is a foodie. I'm sure he will love the menu in Luminae, but I will need to order off the other menu in there a few nights. (At least I read on here there is paper menu I can request with more basic items like steak and chicken.) I assume I can get mashed or baked potatoes, a ceasar salad (from the children's menu) and basic vegetables (green beans, asparagus, broccoli, etc.) if I let them know in advance. Is this correct? On Evening Chic nights will they offer prime rib or lobster like the MDR? What night's would that be on a 7 night cruise? When you stay in a suite, do you book any specialty dining or is the food and service as good or better in Lunanie? I love steaks and Italian, would you recommend a particular restaurant for me or just stick with Luninae? Is the menu on the app typically all that is offered? Is the retreat sundeck usually crowded like the other pool area? Will there be a lot of kids at the pool during a spring break cruise or will it still be an older crowd? I don't mind being in the sun, will I need to get up early to get a lounger near the pool? I will slather on sunscreen and hope to go home with a bit of color. What on earth will I use a butler for? I don't want anyone unpacking for me. Will they bring specialty coffee or alcoholic drinks to our room? Remove the items from our mini fridge so we can stock it with water bottles? Maybe bring our breakfast? If I would like a spa appointment, should I expect the butler or concierge in the lounge to make it, or is that something I would need to schedule myself? We usually just book verandas, so this will be a completely new experience for us. Oh, and there's the onboard credit. I know what I can use it for, but would you use it to book excursions and specialty dining? An updo for one of the evening chic nights? A massage maybe, but I get them monthly at home. My friend has used hers before to buy an expensive bag. Anything in particular I should check out on the Apex?
  6. We will be cruising out of Ft Lauderdale over spring break. We are Marriott rewards members and would like to use our free night. We will have a vehicle so it doesn’t have to be right by the port or restaurants. What Marriott would you recommend?
  7. Can anyone tell me what these off menu common every day selections are? I looked over their menus and they don’t look appealing to me. Can we dine at Blue?
  8. Top priority would be sheer beauty! I would like restroom facilities and the ability to get something to eat and drink. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy to eat and water would be good enough to drink. The less crowded the better. It will just be the two of us, no kids. I’m thinking relaxing beach day, not one crammed full of people, unless that’s our only option. We hated 7 mile beach! We didn’t even stay an hour because of the crowds.
  9. We are doing tours at our other two ports, so I talked my husband into a beach day in Tortola. The first, and only other time we were here, we went to the Baths, which was one of my all time favorite excursions! This time I would love to spend the day at a beautiful beach. We are docked from 8-6. Should we do Jost Van Dyke, CGB, or Long Bay Beach? Which is the most beautiful? I was hoping to find a Celebrity excursion to JVD, but I don't see one. How can I check to see what other ships will be in port while we are?
  10. This will be our first cruise since covid. We have started looking at excursions, and I found a private excursion I thought we would like through Grey's Island Excursions. However, with all the changes I didn't know if we would better off booking through Celebrity. This will be our second time in St. Kitts. The first time we did a beach club. This time my husband would like to do an island tour.
  11. Looks like the only S3's on our cruise are on deck 6, so no noise or obstruction issues, I assume.
  12. Good to know, thanks! We watched some videos and the ability to see through to the balcony from the bathroom was one thing we liked better with the S2. I have no idea how he came to the noise issue conclusion. Perhaps there weren't many S3's to choose from. Good reasons to stay with the S2. I believe it was around $500 more to go with an S2. That explains why my husband said the Celebrity website listed our room as an S1.
  13. We just booked a S2 on the Apex because our travel agent talked us into that over an S3, saying they have noise/obstruction issues. My friend is suggesting the S3’s are better because of the larger balconies. Should we try to change it to S3 or stay with the S2?
