  1. We bought emed tests for $27 after shipping. For me, I work on Cape Canaveral and my schedule is incredibly dynamic as I work around rocket launches which include all the pre-launch activities (which are way more than the actual launch). Much easier for me to pay the small price of the emed test and do the test at home at my convience instead of getting a last minute change to my schedule and now I' paying $105 at the port for a test. Did our tests today for our Sunday cruise. So easy and even today when we expected to test by 9 AM it was nearly 4 by the time our schedules allowed us to sit and devote the 20 minutes to testing.

Our proctors were easy enough to understand and results were in our emails within about 5 minutes. Only glitch was my wife's kit had two swabs. Proctor put her on hold about 90 seconds then came back and told her she only needed one swab.

I wish someone did it at the end of the night so it's ready for the early birds like me.

I'm also up very early and it's either DL or cafe promenade for Americanos. My wife almost always wakes up before me so each night i take a thermos to one of the regular coffee machines and get her the starter coffee. Keeps her happy until I wake up and go get us the better coffee.

Fresh?   Where do you get fresh?

D lounge baby. Very early I make the trek. I mean early. We are early risers and I fill a thermos each night for my beautiful bride for her consumption. My first task upon waking is, at my choice, a trip to a quality coffee location. Could be D lounge, could be on the promenade. I am a great hubby 🙂

We are going on July 4th for 2 weeks on the Harmony. We both have had 2 shots & have been a 2 week cruise a month ago. Do we need any more shots or something else to show we are OK to sail??

SHOT SHOT SHOTS! If you have the drink package why not do SHOTS!?!?

Let's assume you're correct in that you have "heard" that some proctors don't care if the box is already open. With that assumption, you arrive into Canada, take the tests and all goes well.

Now, let's assume you arrive into Canada, break out the box, and all the contents fall out onto the table for 8 tests. The proctors eyes get real big and ask you what is going on? The proctor then states that they cannot give you a pass.

You're in Canada, what is your back-up plan?

Drink Molson and find a new test place.

Great idea.  Allows everyone to attend at least somewhat sober (depending on what they did before boarding) and ensures that people are more likely to do it.  It's so easy.  I don't understand how it's so difficult for some to comply.

Of course, those of us that stood outside in FL humidity wearing a lifejacket waiting for the stragglers  probably have a different perspective than new cruisers lol.

A tremdously different perspective. Standing in the September sun just melting while waiting for everyone to show. MISERY!

  7. It is super easy as long as only one RCL ship is in port. BUT if more than one is in port you have to know which ship you are going on and hope your driver knows.. Seems silly but I have had actual conversations with people leaving or returned from recent cruises and they don't know the name of the ship.

I’m curious how you were allowed to even board with an active sinus infection that was just treated before boarding.  Doesn’t the health survey ask about recent symptoms like that?   And if so,

I thought that meant people were automatically denied boarding.  That has been my biggest worry for upcoming cruises.

Tested negative multiple times. Automatically denied boarding even when they test negative?

You’re splitting hairs… it’s only 45 miles east of Orlando. We all knew what she meant. The Kennedy Space Center is on Merritt Island, just northwest of Cape Canaveral. Saying the space center is at the space center is just as vague.

Not all of us knew what she meant or I would not have posted. Just like you said KSC is on Merritt Island and is not in Orlando.

How can any covid test done elsewhere but the terminal by staff infront of staff and supervisors pass inspection? How does Royal or NCL in my case later this month know that I didn't bribe the person doing the test for a negative result in the same way people bribe bouncers to let them into nightclubs for instance?

Or quite easily edit a PDF from a previous test.

I'm looking for advice from people who have actually experienced this tour rather than from those who have "no idea" about it or just want to comment on how old the original thread is. I didn't need to create a new thread because this one already existed and dealt with the exact subject matter I was looking for. Creating multiple threads about a single subject just makes it more difficult for people to find an answer when searching.

I do not know anything about this tour. I hope at that price it is AMAZING. I love space and work on CCSFS and have free access to KSC. I would have SERIOUS concerns about getting to Orlando airport with less than 2 hours prior to flight time. The local news often has stories about the delays at the airport due to the security lines.

The great debate.....but really, does it matter that much?  My phone, is my newspaper, my map, my info desk, sends me a beep when a show will start, that I asked it to, gets me awake when I take a nap.  It's my personal assistant in one little package.  Not to mention, my camera and video recorder. What's for dinner?  Oh, look, I don't have to walk to the dining room to see the menu on the wall.  What about in port, and I'm looking for a place, or want to see local restaurants?

Being disconnected from work, does not mean you need to be disconnected from life.  Phones are a tool, to be used to simplify life.

Let me walk straight through a crowded walking area with a long pointy knife in front of me. It's just a tool. Staring at your phone screen and walking into my "tool" is no problem?

I refuse to use/keep my phone while on board...I work in tech and am on my phone nearly 24/7....started cruising as a respite from it.  It's always a little clumsy the first time in the MDR or speciality restaurant now though since they did away with menus unless you specifically say you want one and instead want you to scan QR codes EVERYWHERE to see what to order (even at many bars).....

This is how I cruise. I miss the days when cruises didn't have all the screen zombies or  narcissist  selfie takers. I always ask for the menu because my phone is in the safe turned off!

  14. Don't care. Always get UDP because the MDR is a fricking chaos of hurry up and wait. Sometimes I swear I am aback at basic training. People moving everywhere and if I don't drink my two glasses of water I am in big BIG trouble.

Never have adjusted tips. Either give more for service we think is better or nothing extra when we are generally not happy (not mad, just not kind of uhhh) with service. Just don't care enough. Bad service gets serious focus on post cruise review.
