  1. Recently went.  Minimal cost.  Difficulty getting back.  Best to arrange for pick up when you get there. IMO Barbados has the best beaches.  Water was so clear and had a firm sandy bottom.  No sinking or humps to get over to get out

  2. There is minimal shade so we try to get there as early as possible.  I know you can rent clam shells but don’t remember umbrellas.  Also don’t remember waiters coming around for drinks, had to go to the bar.  They do supply towels.   You can grab one as you go to the tender,or get one the night before

  3. We were recently on Ruby.   Had prebooked for 2 for 6 pm.   They were never able to honor reservation.   We’d show up and told it would be about an hour wait.  Guess the 6 pm time didn’t allow enough time for those eating early to finish.   Also limited number of 2 tops.  Most tables sat 6-8.   This may be resolved with new dining reservation system.  Starting mid September they will offer 3 dining options in 3. different dining rooms.   There will be fixed 2 seating traditional, make reservations or walk in without reservation.

  4. Will all be changing starting with Sept 14 cruises.  Numerous posts describe changes.  Basically you can choose traditional (2 seatings) ,make reservations for specific days and times or just walk in when you choose.   Each choice will have their own dining room.  I think it may be a little different on Island as I think they have only 2 rooms

We're new to Princess so I was only just beginning to understand the options, we sail in September. I thought that currently you could reserve a time on the app or attend at anytime and just wait to be seated? Do the changes mean this is still the case but depending on your preference, that will determine which restaurant to dine in?

Exactly.  Specific dining rooms depending on which option you choose.  You can not make reservations until June 17.

  6. Gratuities are included in the package, though some people tip extra along the way.  15 drinks per day pp are included at $15. This amount covers most drinks.   If you choose something over $15 they will just charge you the overage plus 18%. So a $20 drink would be $5.90

  7. Went to Reflections last month.   No sea grass.   The beach is not as nice as Eagle but it is close to pier.  We did go to Passions for dinner as we were in port till 10 pm and it was lovely.

  8. Prebooked 6 pm for 2 and was never able to get table for 2  without an hour wait.  Why bother with reservations.?  I guess people eating at 5 had not yet finished and only tables were for 6-8   If we wanted to eat at 6 we had to share

  9. We went to crab shack on our recent Caribbean cruise.  Was $39 pp. It was a pop up at dinner and not eligible for any of the included dining options.   We ordered the cold bucket.  My DH had most of it.  The steamed clams and mussels served on ice were not my thing.  I should have ordered the hot option.

  10. We originally asked to go to La Plywood.   Taxi dropped us off right next door at kalingo.   We rented chairs.  No need for umbrella as plenty of trees.  We purchased a couple of drinks while there.  A lot cheaper than all inclusive.   Taxi was $16 each way.  We arranged for our driver to pick us up also.  BTW, looking over at La Playa it looked pretty rundown

  11. I was on that Ruby cruise also and found those omelets very odd.  First cruise I had to order then have them delivered to my table.   I was always able to watch them being made.    Also, DH could not order “over easy”  eggs in buffet but could  in the dining room.  I also think someone has to teach the staff how to carve meat.

  12. We made reservations months before for 2 at 6pm.  Never got a table for 2.   We were told it would be an hour wait.  Why offer reservations if they are not able to provide?  Feel the dining rooms are still set up for the old 2 seating times as most tables were for 6-8.   We,too, sat at a table for 8 at breakfast although there were only 2 of us.   Chair hogs were out in force.  Before 6 am all loungers in shade were reserved.   In Martinique, we got a lounger around 9 and the ones next to us were reserved.  By 3 pm no one had been there.  Had an urge to accidentally drop my ice cream on their stuff. Lol

  13. I hope I get this.  Have always gotten balcony and free play offers. On Feb. 23 offers expired and I now get 35-45% off. No thank you.  Presently onboard with 17000 points.  Can’t wait to see the CBS offer. For the money I pour in these machines, I can do a nice all inclusive and not have to fight for a lounge chair

  14. An hour wait with a reservation.  You are right that early diners are probably still eating, then why allow 6 pm reservation?  We are not the only ones complaining.  They need to set up more 2 and 4 person tables

  15. Thanks for all the replies.   It appears the dining room is still set up for the old 2 seatings way of dining.  Most tables are 6-8.  At breakfast they seated us alone at a table for 8 !  They are apologetic but cant/ won’t do anything about it.   Think I’ll try early tonight and see what happens
