Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We just come off the Iona and had a forward facing cabin 10103 much deeper than a standard cabin. You here about there's a lot more movement at the front and rear of the ship but i couldn't tell the difference Our friends got forced to move cabins into a disabled cabin 15307, it turns out the room and cabin is much wider . https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/deckbydeck.php?ship=Iona&deck=10
  2. So I presume if you went to the same Tesco with the failed lighting and bought a 4 pack of Fillet Steaks and one steak was missing you'll be happy to pay full price with that also ?? I paid to got to 4 ports and only went to 3 . As it was our final port they took a slow sail back or even stopped during the night for all i know so minimal extra fuel cost , the Port Tax they saved and not refunded, along all the on-board shops being rammed where they were empty before not to mention all the drinks/alcohol they sold, against the extra staff cost i think they made a very healthy profit. This was my first PO cruise , and probably my last as they've been a little bit Sneaky from the day we booked to the day we got off
  3. Ours said the same morning to afternoon .. one way of checking is nearer the time looking on the Stavanger port website https://www.stavangerhavn.no/en/maritim/cruise/ also this this the direct bus company https://www.pulpitrock.no/ hopefully the return times workout when you go
  4. Just returned from the Fjords on the Iona and had to miss our last port of call. On previous cruises we automatically got a missed port refund added to our on-board credit . I enquired as reception and was told it would be taken of my final bill .I checked the itemised statement and it wasn't listed so we visited reception before we disembarked and was told some story which didn't make sense and would have to write to PO for the refund . After a few minutes of being fobbed off she eventually gave us a very small piece of paper with the address on . Has anyone managed to get a refund , did you write to PO , how did it work thanks nick
  5. We got off the Iona today visiting Stavanger as one of the stops . I wanted to visit Pulpit Rock . P&O did offer it ( so it can be done) for £109 PP which i wasn't willing to pay as the Public/local bus is £31 PP. The issue I had when I rang the PO call centre they wouldn't tell me the Docking times saying i would have to book their excursion 🤬. I eventully found out it would dock at 9am and leave at 5pm so it was doable , as its a 1 hour eachway on the bus (new tunnel instead of ferry) and 3-5hrs walking/viewing depending how long you stay at the top. I read a 70 year old couple were tight for time and got down in 45 minutes. My problem was its just turned to winter timetable and the return buses were only 1.35pm and 4pm plus It was the queens funeral so we decided to watch that instead . Hope you manage to sort something out .
  6. We got off the Iona today . One of our group got the e-mail they were being moved 1 week before we sailed , from deck 15 to deck 5 which have smaller balcony's. obviously this wasnt an upgrade and no option for extra onboard credit. After alot of toing and froing they eventually got a room back on deck 15 but a disabled room. It turned out to be ok as it a lot bigger but they didnt know this until they see it the first day . With this and a few other issues before and during the cruise I doubt we will be booking PO any time soon
  7. I want do the hike to the top of Pulpit Rock.If you book via PO it says its 7 hrs but its £109 , if you book the independent bus its only £31 , the bus takes 1 hour each way and the hike 3-5 hrs , the bus leaves 9am / 10 am etc , so not sure about timings P&O are very sneaky by not list their docking times at Stavanger . I called their call centre and they were very vague saying it would be docking some time in the morning and leaving in the afternoon which i already knew ,saying if i was worried to book on their excursions . After a bit of toing and froing and a white lie on my part she eventually told me its due in at 9am and leaving at 5pm but must be onboard for 2.30pm not sure why the 2 1/2 hour difference between boarding and departing ?? So has anyone done the Pulpit rock independently ,
  8. Can I use my OBC/pay for drinks the first few days then buy the drinks package for the last few days or can you only buy it for the week??
  9. So we dont have to link our bookings then , just rock up every night and request table for 8
  10. Us plus with 3 other couples all booked separately but would like to eat on the same table in the evenings . We all booked the Freedom dinning package How does it work , do we have to link our bookings or just request a 8 seater table each night Also if we do link our bookings and one of us got covid ,would we all be affected , refused boarding or quarantined or just the person/couple with Covid. thanks
