  1. We're on the Joy on Saturday as well. We've done the everglades excursions a few times. We always enjoy it. It depends on the actual excursion but most also have an alligator show that is usually entertaining and educational.
  2. I am booked on the March 9 Joy cruise. I just checked and day passes are not available as of right now for the thermal suite. I can buy a 7 day pass for $199 per person. I have no idea if day passes will be available after we board.
  3. My wife and I have the Vibe booked for our March 9 cruise on the Joy. We cannot wait to give it a try and to see the new refurbishments. This may be a silly question, but is there anything we need to do once we board? Can we go to the Vibe with our sea pass and just walk in or do we need to check in first somewhere else? Thanks
  4. I did my online check in last week for the Joy cruise the week before yours leaves. I stayed up on Friday night and logged in right after midnight. I was able to get a 9:30-10:00 arrival time. The Elements show was also available to book online shortly after the online check in.
  5. I also take a photo of everyone's passport and/or take a copy of them with us when we go ashore. I don't know if it will actually help but it makes me feel better.
  6. I just got the shareholder benefit for my March sailing on the Joy. The process took less than one business day. From the very bottom of the NCL website there is a link "For Investors" under the Our Company Tab. Click on that and look for "Shareholder Benefits". There is a form to complete and instructions on how to prove your ownership. You simply e-mail those to the listed e-mail address. Easy Peasy.
  7. I'm not sure what the 4 rider ATV is. I have booked with cozumelcruiseexcursions.net. They have multiple options.
  8. This was just posted on another thread: You may find this useful: Ship to ship and ship from ship to home: https://www.luggagefree.com/learn-more/ship-to-a-cruise/#:~:text=Sending luggage home from your, take care of the rest. I have no idea if it is reliable. Just passing along the info.
  9. I just finished an Alaskan cruise and found myself using 75-300 almost exclusively. It's always personal taste. Have a blast!!
  10. We were on Harmony last October. I think there were either burgers or sliders available at Mini Bites.
  11. twangster, Were the sunrise photos taken with your smartphone or a different camera? If a different camera, do you mind sharing what gear you used and the settings? Great review! Thanks!
  12. I think they serve breakfast every day in the main dining room. Lunch is not always available when the ship is in port. The best way to plan in advance is to download the app. The app has all of the menus for every day in the dining room.
  13. I dug a little deeper on the 5 cruise ship limit. It does not start until 2024. It may be wishful thinking but I want to believe it's a glitch. I am seeing the same issues with our June 5 Quantum sailing. It's no longer on the app. The shore excursions are still available online but can't be booked.
  14. We were on the Harmony last month. Our flight in was the day before and our return flight was late at night. We rented a car through Avis. It worked well for us because it gave us the freedom to roam around during our free time both before and after the cruise. Their office is a few miles away from Port Canaveral but they have a shuttle that runs to and from the terminal. The biggest negative is that we had about an hour wait on the shuttle on the day we disembarked. For us that was way better than having to sit around the Orlando airport for ten hours.
  15. Absolutely! The peace of mind knowing I won't have an issue is worth that to me. I'm also confident that I will get it straightened out in the end. Also, my wife has changed all of her documents. She does not still have a driver's license with her maiden name. I did not call thinking that they were going to take away the cruise credit. I called RC to make sure we weren't going to have an issue getting on the ship and taking the vacation that I paid for in 2019 that was rescheduled multiple times due to Covid. That was my main priority. This may not be a popular opinion but I believe RC has been extremely fair in the initial cancellations during the pandemic and my later re-bookings. I received "extra" future cruise credits on multiple occasions all for the same cruise I originally booked almost 4 years ago. I'm going on a 7 night cruise for the same money that I originally paid for a 4 night cruise (with the possible exception of $236). I simply want my family to have a great time without stress.
  16. We were in the same situation. We called RC and they changed my wife's name on the reservation to reflect the name on her new passport. Two days later she received an e-mail that stated we owed $236 on the cruise. (Months after final payment was due.) It seems they took away our FCC. Frankly, it's worth $236 for us to know we won't have an issue but I think you may be handling it the most cost-effective way. I've been busy this week and have not called back about the credit.
  17. My wife contacted the health department and had her vaccination records printed out. Her original vaccine card had her name before we were married but the health department updated her name. When it was all said and done it was complete overkill and nobody questioned her original vaccine card.
  18. My wife and I just returned from our cruise on the Celebrity Reflection. We were only permitted to leave the port area if booked on a Celebrity sponsored shore excursion. We did the Blue Hole and River Tubing excursion and since there is so little recent information I thought I would write a quick review. We gathered for the excursion at the entrance to the port area. The tour was operated by Chukka Tours. We were in a nice Toyota van. There were 19 people in our group for the day. Our first stop was the Blue Hole. It's important to know that this was over an hour drive from the port in Falmouth. If you've ever been to Jamaica you know that an hour drive can be quite an adventure! There's lots of passing and near misses with other vehicles. As we got off the "main road" and headed towards the Blue Hole the road became extremely narrow with lots of twists and turns. One young girl did get car sick. Once we arrived at the Blue Hole we were passed over to a guide for the specific location. Water shoes are a must and you do want to leave the sunglasses behind. We walked to our first jump to a very gorgeous waterfall. We jumped off the platform twice and then proceeded to a swing. We did the swing once and the Blue Hole was over. The specific place we went seemed crowded and the overall experience was a little short. I wish we had a little more time to just swim around and enjoy the beauty because the location really is stunning. The guides were professional and helpful and we did enjoy the experience. I watched enough videos before we left to know that we really only saw a small portion of the Blue Hole. We boarded the van and headed a short distance to the River Tubing. Chukka had a new set of guides for the tubing portion. We were outfitted with our life vests and helmets and had the opportunity to purchase drinks for the float. We made it to the river and off we went. The tubing was relaxing with a couple of rapids thrown in. There were a couple of different locations where people were selling rum punch in the middle of the river. Reports from those who got one (or more) were that the drinks were pretty strong. The vendors didn't need paid right on the river but they met us at the van and made sure that they were paid. The final rapid actually got me and threw me off. I scratched my arm up a little bit on the rocks but it wasn't a big deal. We had a great time and would definitely do this again. Our final stop was at Appleton Estate Plantation Smokehouse for lunch. This was a pretty nice restaurant where we were all fed delicious jerk chicken, beans and rice, and coleslaw. Water was provided and drinks were available for purchase. This was a great lunch stop for the tour and we really did enjoy the food. If anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask.
