  1. The page does now work, was able to enter. Still not clear if we are supposed to enter daily, the email I received didn't really clear up my questions. Ahh....this is a nice Christmas promo wish they would be more clear.

Thanks for entering today. Good luck!

Return daily through December 25, 2017 for your chance to win!

    Good luck!

  2. After calling Celebrity numerous times regarding registering online for my e-docks etc, this was the advice I was given;

just give up and on the day of embarkation stand on line with your Passport & Credit card and the Agent that does your paperwork will fill in the necessary information online for you to board. Can you just imagine what insanity that would cause if everyone did that? If you start to see extra long lines while checking in, people may have just given up and will let the Celebrity Gate Agent deal with the Horrible Website

    d

Someone at Celebrity actually said that to you?

  3. Yes, I got that too this morning. I had been having decent luck, though I had to print my X-press pass by logging into Celebrity on my phone. I was checking to order luggage tags on a 12-12 sailing....This is the first time I've not been able to access the res. We all agree the website is a nightmare

  4. Very well said. I'm not engaging with this poster, cause it seems that is what he wants.

Oh My Gosh. Boy are we lucky that you have canceled your reservation because all of us would like to ban you from our cruise! Dude, your glass isn't just half empty......can you be anymore negative and caustic? I respect everyone's opinion and we are 61, 71 and 88. We are not moving to PR, we are just sailing out of there. And yes we have had to make changes to things as well as flights. Hope you are able to develop perspective on what really matters in life. I also hope that when you go to these islands eventually, you can ignore the imperfections left from Mother Nature. All of us including our home lands have flaws, but I remain open to new adventures and accepting less than perfection. And I look forward to carrying my PR taxi driver $100 worth of D batteries and bug repellent wipes that he can share with his friends on 11/11/17.
  5. I as well recently booked B2B Summit sailings in December. I plan to fly in/out day of cruise starting and ending, flying from south Florida makes this very easy especially with the scheduled 8:30pm departures. I don't think the San Juan is necessarily ready for visitors staying for long periods in their hotels but I see no reason to not use the city as a port of embarkation. I sail in approximately 2 months and I'm being optimistic that the island will recover. The prices are outstanding on the December sailings.

This morning we booked back to back cruises out of San Juan in december. We evaluated the risks and are looking forward to it, particularly spending time again in the Dutch Antilles again.

I've read the roll calls and see people panicking about hotels and flights etc but Celebrity UK were able to book flights, transfers to hotel and then port with no issues. They did advise that they have limited hotels at present but the one chosen seems perfectly acceptable. As it's all booked through them and if they cancel we're protected through ABTA so we'll just book something else later on as we're fortunate enough to have some flexibility.

Incidentally, for once Celebrity UK offered a much better deal than US travel agents are currently offering which is quite rare. I accept we're taking a bit of a gamble, but this could be the cruise bargain of the century. I doubt San Juan will be much fun, but the ship and other islands will be so I'm really not concerned. I've done three trips to Zika affected areas already, the threat isn't new and it's easy to safeguard yourself against it. Just my two cents. I await the inevitable 'you must be mad posts...'.

  6. It's interesting that Celebrity's website has Caribbean updates and changes through next year, but nothing is posted on Azamara. I can understand why they don't want to make a decision, guess they are hoping for the best. Looking at PR, I just don't see how they will be able to accommodate ships anytime this year. They have no electricity and a dam is threatening to break on the island. That may not be near San Juan, not really sure the news coverage has been sporadic at best...that island is not going to be ready to host 100's of tourists

  7. I also received this survey. The first section was about future cruise sales as already discussed. The second part was all about loyalty perks, asking what current perks are most important to me, what possible perks I would be interested in seeing added. The survey also asked what perks OFF the ships I would like to see, the next page asked me to choose what type of perk I would choose: airline miles, hotel points, movie/entreatment options etc. I should have taken a screen shot of this page.

From this survey my thoughts are that they are amending the perks of Captains Club.

  8. I wanted to update my post, I have given away both of the referral vouchers, if you are a new Seabourn cruiser, check this thread there are lots of past guests who are happy to provide a voucher.

    Happy Sailing

  10. Joan,

That's so great that you got a suite upgrade, now we can dine in Luminae together. Regarding the accessible suite, we actually had one on our last cruise( we booked a month out and it was the last suite on the ship) There is a bit less closet space, but we managed with no issues(and you know how heavy we pack). The suite and the bathroom are actually roomier than a regular sky suite. The only issue we had was the shower, because there is no barrier it tends to flood the bathroom very easily. They put a very large rolled towel to block the water, however one towel doesn't do it, we asked for two and sometimes supplemented the towel situation will pool towels.

I have to e-mail you, I just got back from visiting my mom in NC. Lots to catch you up on that I won't put on cruise critic. I will try to do that this week :)

    love to you and Greg,

    Jen

  11. When they reinstituted the nightly chocolates on the pillow, they are now 1/2 the size from what they used to be.

in addition to the reduced size of the nightly pillow chocolates, I noticed on our July Silhouette British Isles cruise on formal nights in suites each person received a full box of fancy(not great, but pretty and well presented) truffle chocolates...this has been reduced to one per cabin not one per person. Not a big deal, but a cut back just the same.

If staying in any suite, Celebrity has always given one per guest of their nice navy zip up bags, on the last cruise it was reduced to one per cabin. We traveled with our parents also in a suite and they had the same experience on both the box of chocolate and the bag, so it was not just a mistake in our cabin.

I don't mind the lack of Bvlgari toiletries, find the smell overwhelming so the regular Celebrity shampoo etc was fine with me(which surprised me cause I'm so picky about hair products) however I did notice in the suites the toiletries were almost full size, not mini the way they have always been int he past. I have no idea if this is ship wide or suite only.

  12. Hi, I'm doing the opposite joining the ship at it's first port in La Harve(it starts in Harwich) in order to spend some time in Paris pre-cruise. My T/A requested a change in embarkation, all Celebrity requested was my Passport info, and it was approved. I was still able to get the Choice air.

If you decide to disembark early you can grab a train from La Harve to Saint Lazare in Paris(some are direct, you can even purchase you train ticket on line from home). I would definitely skip the last day on board to spend the night in Paris :D. The ride to Paris is 2+ hours each way, it would make for a very LONG day with disembarkation in the morning.

Just ask your travel agent to contact Princess, I can only speak for what I know from Celebrity, but imagine it can be done fairly easily.

Paris is always a good idea

My cruise is still pretty far away. But this is part of the fun, research, planning & budgeting. In doing so I've come across quite a few postings where people on the same cruise itinerary disembarked early in LeHavre in order to see Paris.

I was wondering for people who have done this, is it hard to arrange? Also how and when do you start to work on getting it approved?

My TA suggested a private tour from LeHavre to Paris & back so we could see more. But not knowing when we would be in Paris again, the idea of spending the night there & flying home from there the next day is more appealing to me.

Our cruise is the 12 day British Isle with Princess Cruise Line:

Sun Aug 03 - Embark (Southampton)

    Mon Aug 04 - Guernsey 7:00 am - 2:00 pm

    Tue Aug 05 - Cork (Cobh) 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

    Wed Aug 06 - Dublin 7:00 am - 6:00 pm

    Thu Aug 07 - Belfast 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

    Fri Aug 08 - Glasgow 7:00 am - overnight

    Sat Aug 09 - Glasgow Overnight - 1:00 am

    Sun Aug 10 - Orkney Islands 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

    Mon Aug 11 - Invergordon 7:00 am - 6:00 pm

    Tue Aug 12 - Edinburgh 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Wed Aug 13 - Sea Day

    Thu Aug 14 - Paris/Normandy 7:00 am - 8:00 pm

Fri Aug 15 - disembark (Southampton)

Thank you for any advice, input you can share.

  13. I have just always found most of the staff very pushy, they exist solely on commission based on their sales volume per cruise. I don't want to criticize anyone for buying something that they like, if it makes you happy enjoy.

I just wonder how much Park West is paying X,RCCL etc to get the opportunity to sell on their ships.

There were A LOT of false claims made by PW a few years ago in regards to the value of their pieces(Google it)

I just avoid them like the plague, but as my favorite bar is Molecular there they are. It's ok I have the Beverage Package I'll just face the bar not the auction :D

  14. The prices are quite good using choice air, just booked my air for my Oct B2B(will be a T/A so I only needed air one way) American direct from Miami for $500, then I went to the American site and upgraded to the main cabin(which is really premium economy, but the seats are a bit bigger and more let room) only $118

    Jen

Did you check Choice Air? That's RCI's "internal" travel agency that does airfares for those cruising on Azamara, Celebrity and RCCL, and they often have great airfares available for transatlantics. It's choiceair.com.
  15. Saw that price as well....I can't even imagine how long a flight to India would be, and I'm sure the fare is skyhigh. which probably has something to do with the amazing price on this sailing

That's a great deal, even though the airfare (even through ChoiceAir) is horrendous I'm sure! I spotted it too when it was on sale for a slightly higher price--too bad I have a work committment that clashes with this one or I would have booked it for sure! Would love to try Azamara.
  16. I took my first solo cruise last year when my friend bailed....it was the best cruise ever. I love having the cabin to myself, so much that I can't bare to share a regular sized balcony cabin anymore. Once you have the whole balcony it's hard to go back.

I've taken 4 solo trips and have two more booked, all have been on Celebrity I've always made friends, but don't mind being alone either.

When I go alone on Celebrity I book in Aqua Class, that allows me to eat in Blu which is a smaller venue. If I make friends I can always join them in the MDR.
