  1. Firstly - thanks so much to Renmar for his valuable information.

We booked our next Med cruise using his photos and saved $2K over our friends with balcony cabins. We are thrilled and happy.

In my opinion this has nothing to do with princess - in fact they are likely happy that folks willingly choose obstructed views or at the least that they are not shocked by what they receive when booking. I would think it’s just the google older platform that needs updating or bandwidth increase as suggested.

Good luck getting it up and running and stable again. I had intended on sending through some updated photos upon our return

    Room E633 - Crown Princess

  2. It can also be advantageous at times for Canadians to buy onboard credits ahead of time when Princess is offering a favorable exchange rate.

Yup. Currently offering 1.20 on my med cruise in September. So I bought 200 for 240 rather than 270 (ish)

Bought some beer pkgs too at that rate.

  3. Lol. This is amusing to read folks get preachy about the “rules”. 75% of the cruising public on the ship will not be reading CC and will act according to what they want and what they are told by the staff of the day. You can rail endlessly about the way it should be done... but until it is a written rule, no one will know the difference. Plus... your attendance to a particular meal is a drop in the proverbial bucket of the princess staff’s day

  4. We did LA to Vancouver - May 9-13 this year. The weather was nice. Very warm and sunshine in Victoria. We were on the Emerald. Only used the pool on Victoria port day. Every time I’ve done the west coast the weather has been quite cool at sea along Washington and Oregon

We also did 3 generations and all had an absolutely amazing time

  5. I am a bit resentful regarding the comments about "gaming the system" and "feeling entitled". My problem was not booking my cruise early enough and for having a partner that isn't able to stand in line for a long time. Gee, I sure wish I wasn't on the long waitlist for my first choice MD-fixed time dining. We certainly will call and ask for an AT reservation but if we don't get one we will make do and enjoy our cruise. But please understand why some people are hopeful for a set dinner time.

Lol I agree. “Gaming the system” is really strong... if they have a system that allows

  6. It’s the same as hotels and resorts. High demand brings higher pricing. There are always “shoulder” seasons where you pay less for the exact same thing. When we book vacations we are very fortunate to be able to book for pricing. There are certainly great deals to be had.

However, Sometimes it will be a group we will travel with who have a specific destination at a specific time and we have to bite the bullet and pay the going rate.

  7. If that indeed ends up being true, then the vaunted coffee card is a real rip-off. You pay in advance for 15 servings of specialty coffees/teas, but after a certain date the card expires and the unused punches are useless?

So Princess got your money and you don't get all the product you paid in advance for.

Ummmm isn’t that actually the same thing folks who buy the ultimate Beverage package deal with? If I don’t drink my 15 drinks a day I lose out. No one seems to give a rip about that

  8. OP - we are from BC too and I must admit the idea of sleeping on the balcony is very appealing. We too have sleep outdoors on many occasion. On our last cruise we were on Emerald A305. We were 4pax per room and the 4th bed was a rollaway cot. It would have been perfect out on our patio. Alas the weather was gale force winds along the pacific coast so we didn’t put it out there. Most definitely it would have fit. Just sayin’

  9. We were also on the Emerald May 9-13. Due to the size of our group and some of the elder folks mobility issues we had every meal in the MDR except port day in Victoria we ate pizza and burgers on the Lido.

4/8 of our group had never cruised before and they were wow’d by the food selection and quality and the amazing service. Those who do not know... do not miss the Parmesan bowl lol.

We all really enjoyed the food and the service. However after sailing on ships like NCL Getaway - the buffet leaves a lot to be desired. I found the HC to be very cramped. But not enough to make us cancel Sept cruise on the Crown. :)

  10. On our Pacific Coastal a few weeks ago, my sons wore a suit and tie to dinner every night is the MDR. They were feeling very sharp. Our whole party of 3 generations (grandmas, moms and sons) dressed in “elegant cocktail” and we had a lovely time. I’m pretty sure not many others were as formally dressed, but honestly, it didn’t really matter. We had a super great time dressing up.
