  1. Nice. Leaving Italy mid august at the latest, arriving the 20th in Southampton for a mini cruise or night at the dock, an a day or five left to get to Reykjavik! Seems we figured it out.
  2. Marghera, Venice - Reykjavik Cruise Terminal, Iceland is approx. 6800km/4200 miles. when drawn in a ship's course (Google Map; right click; measure distance tool). 6800 kilometers = 3671.70626 nautical mile. With a constant top speed of 21 knots (1 knot is 1 nautical mile per hour), 3671 devided by the speed it would take 174,8 hour. Slightly over 7 days. With perhaps a refuel stop (Gibraltar?) let's say 8-10, max. 12 days? Passing through in the Med would probably take up half of the total time, once passed the Strait of Gibraltar it's almost a straight course. Unless they refuel at a Cork in Ireland i.e. Iceland is quite expensive, not sure NCL wants to refuel there.
  3. Above is deck 15, on the bridge wing, with the straight down windows of the Spa; B4 Family Balcony and BA Balcony's behind him.
  4. Impressed by the balcony size! edit: can't help it with BA and GA's balconies...
  5. Look into Gore Tex boots or low shoes. Regarding the security at airports and especially Amsterdam: anyting higher than the ankle needs to be taken off is a good rule of thumb. There are many good and low GTX shoes around, not sure if this brand is known State side; Mammut for example. Also very light! And a wind- and waterproof pants yes, an underlayer is not neccesary unless you plan to visit during winter/off season. During the summer you might want to consider a convertible pants, the weather can change quickly in Iceland and during an hike you might even want to cool off after all those stairs and upwards paths to the sites.
  6. Get any extra insurance for the car they offer you, what others said above is all true. And on top of that, they will warn you for wind gusts as they will damage your car doors in a second of inattention. The roads are good to drive but with the growing tourism not everybody is used to driving in such conditions. Road grit/chippings occurs a lot and our brand new rental car (3000km when we got the keys) got hit by someone else's door on day #2 in a parking lot, big dent and scratch, hard not to notice it.. no note was left. Luckily we had all the extra insurance, so when returning it after some 1900km it was no problem. Normally we decline on the extra's as we have card insurance and travel insurance but Iceland is a different story. Don't let that get you, it's a beautiful island with lots and lots of sights to discover.
  7. OP never responded. We did a Ring Road trip last month and got to see puffins at Borgarfjarðarhöfn (east coast) and also during a whale watching boat excursion from Husavik. If OP answers we might be able to really answer their question, if it's a smaller expedition cruise for instance the chances are higher with the ship hugging the coast or at anchor at some of the smaller ports.
  8. "Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark, an IHG Hotel", 20 minutes from Orlando international.
  9. Per NCL.com the Epic for example still has a Freestyle Sun Deck listed, deck 19 (all the way forward), do we have someone on board live'ing at the boards? They gotta earn those Rare CC badges...
  10. Nice! I am pleased to see that they went for different designs/bow art!
