  1. Seeing that the cruise is in July, the price may remain high considering it is peak season ! Seeing that it is your honeymoon, congratulations by the way, it would make your special occasion even more memorable . Like others have said, if you upgraded to a GS that would make it even more special with all the perks. But the price may not be worth it for your budget. I know those rooms can be very pricey ! What are the chances of your families pitching in an upgrade as a wedding present ? It's been our experience that both JS and GS sell out quickly, so they may not be available as the cruise gets closer.

  2. Welcome to CC. Sorry to hear you didn't get compensated. We watched the Majesty come in on the web cam and turn around. It's terrible when things like that happen, while you were on your warm Bahamas cruise, I was at work putting people's lights back on in -12 degree weather, with a wind chill of -30, and the 7 Eleven wouldn't even give me free coffee for turning their power back on !

  3. You should get an Email from the Concierge prior to your cruise. They hold seats for suite guests and you can reserve what you want thru them...with the exception of the Comedy club. Make your own reservations for that. You will even be able to make your reservations after you board if you want. Also, if you reserve shows, get there at least 15 to 20 minutes early because they will open up the areas where suites guests once shows start.

If you can't get a cabana at Labadee, you can still go to Barefoot beach with the Gold Card !

  4. Related thought: It's wise to print a paper copy of your reservation (or at least save a screenshot or Snip). Knowing is one thing, but having proof in black and white puts you in a stronger position.

I do that too. Also, when she corrected the mistake, she Emailed me the new booking confirmation with the correct price. I also kep a copy of previous cruises, just in case of problems there !

  5. What was the reason for the increase per the RCL's rep.

She tried to explain to me that I had logged onto RCI from another site and not directly thru them ! This made absolutely no sense, because I only log on thru RCI .com . I know she was being coached by a supervisor because she kept putting me on hold to get answers. It all worked out good in the end , just took a few minutes of my life I will never get back !

MY APOLOGIES ....I didn't want to start a debate on whether or not to use a TA. I don't think I even mentioned that in my OP ! So please stop arguing about something I didn't even bring up....don't make me separate you guys ! We won't use one again after a terrible experience on one of our first cruises. I had booked myself and the wife, and when our TA finally gave us all our cruise documentation, I was the only one booked. She refused to say she made a mistake, but after several phone calls to her, using my best profanity and discussing what her mother does with sailors, we finally got the correct paperwork with both our names going on a cruise together . I trust myself a lot more than a stranger who has nothing to lose if she makes a mistake !

  6. Hello, just wanted to post about the importance of checking your reserved cruises for mistakes. I have read other posts and felt bad for those involved and it finally happened to us. I got on my reservation to make a payment and the price of my cruise had more than doubled and what I owed went up accordingly ! It made no sense as what the price was, as I could book the same cruise even now at a much cheaper price ! I called C&A for help, and the lady gave me a reason for the increase that made no sense at all, but after 15 minutes she finally got the price down to what it should have been ! Sorry for the long winded rant, but I could only wonder what would have happened if I waited to the last minute to make a payment !

  7. I purchased the shirts on Etsy. The company is called Coconut Cuties Designs. She custom makes them. Many different colors. I ordered and received them in less than a week, but she's also local to me so it was probably faster than most other people.

Thank you ! My wife is familiar with the site ! Gonna order them. Happy cruising

  8. Oh, yes and from my initial post I wanted to introduce each of us.

    Yours Truly-

Hubby- I thank my hubby profusely for wearing the tie dye Mickey shirt. Some of his friends laughed, but I reminded them that when they have kids they'll understand that you do stuff to make your kids happy no matter what other people think or say! <3

Little Man- The reason we took the trip, sorta. As I mentioned before I'm a cruise junkie, so he was just the excuse I was looking for ;)

    And all of us together!

Love the tie dye ! Where did you find them ? Guessing onboard, but we have to get some for our Magic cruise ! If it makes Hubby feel better, we cruise without kids, and will wear the shirts with pride !

  9. Like everyone has said, book as early as possible. Depending on what time of year you cruise, there may be 6 or more ships in port on the weekends. I've never done the math, but I always figure that could mean 20,000 or more traveler's either coming or going or staying there, and even tho there are tons of hotels, I figure all these people want the same room I want !

  10. If you walk in to your Promenade view room and the cabin isn't up to your standards, promptly do the following:

    1. Stomp your foot in a huff and throw your bags onto the bed in anger.
    2. Take photos of the offensive window for documentation. Start a LIVE thread on Cruise Critic and warn future cruisers of the deplorable condition of the room.
    3. Promptly make your way to the front desk and LOUDLY demand to see the hotel manager.
    4. Roll eyes at everyone who looks at you.
    5. Loudly proclaim to the hotel manager that you deserve either; a full refund, an immediate move to the Grand Suite, or ample OBC as compensation.
    6. Roll eyes at everyone who looks at you.
    7. Demand to be given Michael Bayley's email.
    8. Loudly express your shock and complete dismay that you are not being given either; a full refund, an immediate move to the Grand Suite, nor ample OBC as compensation.
    9. Vow to email Michael Bayley.
    10. Proclaim to your table mates at dinner each and every night your horror at the condition of your room. Exclaim to anyone who appears interested that you were denied ample compensation for your immense troubles. Vow to email Michael Bayley.
    11. Roll eyes at everyone who looks at you.
    12. Upon your return, promptly write a review on Cruise Critic, making certain to express how your cruise was RUINED because you were forced to endure such conditions. Make sure to post said photos as undeniable proof of the wretched condition of the room. Make sure you do NOT respond to anyone who posts questions to your review.
    13. Email Michael Bayley

    :-)

Hunger strikes seem to be the growing fad now. That might work ! Seems like it worked for those college kids !
