I confess I couldn't see the deer either, and I had my nose almost touching the screen. It was probably clearer looking first hand(or eye🧐) than via phone camera and posting online. Lovely outlook though, one I'd love to wake up to every morning.

    Sis

Hi sis,I expanded it like Josy said.Just to the right of the 2nd tree trunk from the left, bro.

Wow. I saw from other footage as well, that they took you in the lighter that normally carries the buoys. What a great idea that was. Any small rescue boat would have taken even longer to get you all off the ship. I hear someone say 30 people. I guess that is what they had told you it would take as one "load".  I see the police launch in the background. It all looks professional and dare I say it relatively laid back.

And that railway bridge does look really low.

It took 2 passenger loads and a 3rd for the luggage. The narrow gangplank walking to the shore at the rescue end was slowly getting covered with water. With the 30 people boats,I don't think we all would have made it.Thanks for your continuous info, amazing.

What crazy weather, I just saw that the airport in Majorca has been closed because of flooding, at least here it isn't raining so the washing is out on the line.

Last day at school for my nephew because all exams are finished.  His sister was moaning last night because she has to keep going until the end of term and he won't have to get up early 9will be able to go out with his friends if he wants to during the day.

Have a good day every one.

    Josy,please don't use the F word again.

I feel sorry for the Crew and Staff. They’ve been stranded in Deggendorf for well over a week now with, I would imagine,  no chance of getting off until today. There’s only so much deep cleaning they could do and only so many games of Connect 4 and Deck Quoits you can play?

Skyla and Maya now seem to be on Magical Mystery Tours of small ports in Hungary and Austria.

It didn’t feel like it at the time but looking back now I think the Isla 140 were actually quite lucky?

I heard from the horses mouth yesterday that Jean the CD has been busy. She has personally been handling and processing all the refunds.

Returned home from York after a perfect meet up with my cousin, Charles and his lovely wife Kia. We all gelled imediately and didn't stop talking. Facetimed another cousin, Diane, his sister, who lives near Los Angeles and again we had plenty to say. Charles wants us to visit next year and so does Diane, so it looks like a trip to Nebraska and LA is on the cards.

I am now arranging a similar meet with a 1st cousin on my mothers side. He lives nearer to home in Nottingham.

Good news Bob,I remember back in march when I had lunch with my aunt,uncle,2 1st cousins and 1 2nd cousin. We also gelled  as if we'd known each other for years. My aunt is thinking of a way to trace my mum, she'd be 89 now.Cheers,Brian.

I have just had a telephone call from our local councillor who I have been working with to stop the house adjacent to us being turned into a care home.  He had told me that the planning permission has been refused.  My next job is to tell the residents of our close that we have been successful in our appeals against the planning permission.

Great, you can carry on with the nudie sunbathing now😉.

    Thanks Brian.

Such good news for Mrs Brian - such a relief for you both.

You got your compo in an amazingly quick time - very impressive from the company you were with. I feel a road trip with Mr & Mrs YP would make good television - with bleeps in the appropriate places of course!

Are you looking forward to the Euros? I was - until last Friday when I had a horrible feeling that watching England is going to mean squeaky bum time again ( not one of my referrals). We'll see.

    Jane xx

They don't mess with Arnie and Sly Jane.I give up with the footie,I'll take every match as it comes.Cheers,Brian.

    Good Morning!

I hope you are all well. Although I've had a short break I haven't really been away as I've still been following this thread and also @Megabear2 and @Selbourne on their Queen Anne voyages.

The adventures of @brian1 and @yorkshirephil kept me reading with great interest. It was so lovely that you all met up and seemed to be having a good time all together. Glad you hear you've received refunds so promptly.

i hope the mums are doing well and recovering well Michelle and Sue. Best wishes all round.

Me and Ted are doing ok although I've got a string of referrals in the pipeline following incidental findings on the CT scans after my fall. I would certainly have an "assistance needed" label should I book a cruise at the moment!

As ever, I send you all my very best wishes. Jane xxx

Thanks Jane, nice to see you're back.Hope it all goes well for your referrals. My OH had one today, she had a precancerous lesion on her leg frozen off. She's had a few Basel cell thingybobs over the years but this was different. No worries now so we can book a Bulgaria land holiday with our compo.Brian.

If you think that’s is complicated, I have recently been in contact with 2 cousin after matching with them on Ancestry, both are the offspring of my father’s elder brother, by 2 different women, he was married with a young family at the time and non of his children were aware of their existence either. We are meeting with one of them, who is coming over from Australia in a few weeks time to meet his newly discovered family.

In the last few days I have discovered that the daughter of a great great uncle in Idaho USA, was married 5 times, 4 divorces, one marriage lasted less than 3 months, apart from her first husband, all the rest were younger than her, from 1 to 15 years younger.

One of her sons was shot dead during a shoot out with the police, he was about to kill his wife and youngest child.

I discovered all this when linking to one of my DNA matches.

That's quite a story. In my case it's the old uns that are to blame. My nan Ivy and her 2 partners at least were all putting it about at once, having kids, offloading them and keeping them all a secret.Ivy gave my aunt to her brother and she didn't find out till she was 20.That's the tip of the iceberg, lol.

This is mainly for Brian although others may be interested. I am travelling to York today and meeting up with a first cousin, Charles, the son of my birth fathers brother. It will be the first time I will knowingly have met a blood family member. He is from Nebraska and travelling with his wife on a European tour.

My wife, Marie and I will be staying a couple of nights and will show them some Yorkshire countryside, although the weather is not forecast to be good. If there is any interest I will report back after I return home.

Thanks Bob,good luck.I met up with my aunt in Northampton, where she lives, recently. Her brother was there also. She only met him when I did for the first time in London. He has a half sister thru his dad.I persuaded him to ask her to get a Ancestry DNA,if that is linked to me it would prove that his dad is my grandad making him a full uncle.OMG this is complicated stuff,I'm getting confused myself.I come from a very dysfunctional family, but all the resulting offspring are down to earth nice people.Cheers,Brian.

I'm absolutely sure that none of the regulars on here will be offended in the slightest.

As @kalos stated there are other posters who haven't sailed with P&O that contribute. There are also some who've stated that they'll never sail with P&O again. A lot of it goes back to the non-cruising Covid lockdown days when this "chat" thread started with loads of different posters coming and going since then, many of whom probably simply appreciated an avenue to chat and share life experiences.

I think that the original question was simply out of interest as some may have joined this chat just to get a feel for the brand and maybe its clientele prior to taking the plunge and booking a P&O cruise.

Spot on Damian. Thanks for putting my similar thoughts into eloquent words.I sort of qualify having only sailed P&O once, but we only sail for itineraries and that one fitted the bill. This thread is unique so keep posting Bloodaxe, you have contributed a lot in the past.

I know it’s usual for a Yorkshire man to moan but on this occasion I was more than happy with our refund. It’s paid for our impromptu Easy Jet flight from Munich to Manchester, the two nights we’ve just had in the Cotswolds and will also pay for our Holiday in Cyprus in September. All in all, very happy.

The way to look at it is we've had a 6 day AI minicruise for £1700 and enough left over for 2 more land holidays this year.

That's clever, but can those cans capture the fertile country air (Landluft) aroma of warm Mist heaps? (Here's a tip though: Check the ingredients of cans containing Landluft and avoid any that mention Gülle - that's Mist in a tank without the straw.)

Don't tell anyone but I think it's canned Chinese fog.Everything is nowdays.
