I just re-read your first post and I'm a bit confused.

You said you had an FCC from a 2023 cruise.

Then you spoke of your upcoming cruise and a price drop on the upcoming one.

Did you already receive another FCC from the next one?

I'm wondering if you were discussing when to "apply" (use) the first one to the upcoming cruise. If that was your dilemma, note that you may apply more than one FCC as a payment towards future cruises.  Also, using the one from 2023 does not prevent you from getting another one; nor does it prevent you from doing a cancel/rebook of the new one to capture the current price reduction; I don't think that you forfeit a used FCC until after the final payment date.

I have received FCC from my 2023 cruise, and then I have booked a cruise for 2024 where I plan on using the FCC that I have already have received as part of payment (just haven't had it applied yet as I am uncertain if I will cancel my 2024 cruise and rebook closer to the sailing date). And yes - I was wondering if a cruise that is partly (or even mainly) paid with FCC also would qualify for pricedrop FCC on the second cruise IF there is a pricedrop after I have paid it in full - that I then could use on a third cruise (eg. in 2025). Sorry about causing confusion.....

Or just be happy with the cabin category and price that you booked at.

Nope, not a chance, as we currently have a price of $5700 for 2 persons in an inside cabin for a 10 days cruise (that includes FAS gratuities and the daily service charge). We will be going with a group of friends, so changing sailing dates is not an option.... That is why I am hoping for some kind of price reduction after final payment (and if it doesn't happen, then it is what it is, the cruise will be great any way - it is just my wallet that will be deeply unhappy). But I am at this point sincerely considering cancelling the cruise at this point (with no penalties), and then rebook maybe 2-3 months before sailing date instead (it is unlikely that the cruise will be sold out by then).

Good luck! I asked for reconsideration of our $1200 FCC each when the cruise went down an additional $4000 while I waited for their initial response. I got their response within minutes of emailing them. Their response was sorry - one adjustment per cruise after final payment.

Yikes!!   Definitely a crap shoot when to ask for an FCC after final payment.  😮

I received about $1700 FCC (2 persons) on a cruise we did had booked for the summer of 2023. When I applied for the pricedrop FCC (about 2 months before sailing date), my PCC actually asked me if I wanted to wait with the FCC application until I was closer to the sailing date, as I could apply for it as late as 16 days before sailing date. And stupid me replied to just go ahead and apply at that time instead of waiting. Turns out the cruise price dropped with another $1000 during the next month... So next time I will definitely wait until closer to the sailing date to apply for it.

Has anyone ever had a roll call disappear? I’m sailing on Viva Jan 7, and there was an active roll call that I posted in…and now it’s gone. Every other Jan date is there, except the 7. Not sure what this means or if it was accidentally deleted, but just wondering if anyone had any thoughts! Thanks!

I found it for you. 🙂  (I just had to scroll through "all" Viva roll calls not just the few listed for January. Found it down on page 3 of the Viva roll calls, as there has not been any new posts since September.

That is exactly what I said, just with a different wording........

    Hello Anita

The usual problem when one is following a thread!!!!   Not so long ago I answered a comment and within two hours I had 5 notifications; all were saying the same thing i had!!

I am actually not following the thread, but MY reply was quoted, and the person who quoted me gave the impression that he/she gave additional information but pretty much said exactly what I said. So I just didn't understand why my post was quoted in the first place (AND seemingly giving an inpression that my response was inaccurate...).🤔🙂🙃

If the price has dropped and the higher category costs more, you can pay the difference and upgrade to the higher category. But if the price drops so much that the higher category costs less than what you paid, you can’t upgrade to higher category even you don’t want any refund for the price drop.

That is exactly what I said, just with a different wording........

  7. We were also two persons, and the price drop FCC was divided between the two of us. An alternative to asking for a price drop future cruise credit, is that there may have been significant pricedrops also in other cabin categories, so that you can purchase a regular upgrade and just pay a few dollars for the upgrade (just paying the difference between what you have already paid and the current price). This is possible to do also after final payment, as long as the new cabin cost more than the original cabin (even if the difference is only $1 in plus).

Like I said in the last post we tendered from offshore SE of Venice in April from the NCL Star. We were dropped off at the old cruise terminal. It was a 90-minute tender ride. Those of us on the 1st tender at 6:30 had a good trip but everybody on the later tenders said it became a disaster. When we got to the People Mover we had to wait for over 30 minutes because some people couldn't figure out how to use a ticket machine. We had to wait for over an hour for a tender going back because everybody decided to go back at the same time at around 5:00 PM. And they used 3 large land based tenders. And we did go through the Giudecca canal.

Instead of using the people mover, it is actually possible to walk from the pier and up to Piazzale Roma in just 15-20 minutes. Or just take a regular taxi - I believe the fixed price is €20 for up to 4 persons. Yes, the taxi is expensive, but still may be worth it if it gives you one extra hour to explore Venice.... 😉

I’ve never used a CruiseFirst, but I think the difference is that the CN is good for four years, where the CF is only good for three.  Also, they regularly have “Double Up” and sometimes “Triple Up” offers for CNs.  I don’t think they do for CFs.

I have used both, and the main difference to me was that CruiseFirst could be purchased online 8and CruiseNext can only be purcased on board), so my PCC suggested to purchase a CruiseFirst as deposit at a time where I had already used my original CruiseNext vouchers as deposits on other cruises. (At that time I believe that I paid $250 and got $500 paid off on the cruise I booked. At a later time I purchased one CruiseFirst for $150 and got $300 paid off on the cruise. So both time I used it as I did not have any CruiseNext vouchers left.).

So based on what I have written above, it is actually a better deal to get the extra credit added to the future cruise (as you do with CruiseFirst) instead of as OBC (as you do with CruiseNext).

Hi Guys, does anyone know if you can go to guest relations at the start of the cruise and put cash on your account? I have quite a lot of USD and thought to take them on my cruise and deposit them to the account it would keep my bill down a bit.

    Yes you can. 😊

  11. I received an Diamond upgrade last year that I was not happy with (from inside on deck 9 to oceanview on deck 5), so I asked to change to an ocean view cabin on a higher deck. I was then told "no, not possible". So I just said "no thank you", and kept the "one time upgrade" for a cruise I had booked for this year instead. And the cruise where I declined their "free upgrade offer" had a significant pricedrop on club balcony cabins after final payment date, and I ended up just paying $100 per person for an upgrade from a regular inside cabin to a club balcony cabin on a 10 days cruise. Just to avoid any misunderstandings: I just purchased a regular upgrade and just paid the difference between what I had already paid and the current club balcony price. It was not through the "upgrade advantage program".

The interesting thing is that when one gets well up the scale of the Latitudes system then the more attentive people are..   If you don't believe me try to get hold of one of the notices the door staff print out at a restaurant to give to the server!!!   I have seen ours!!   A seater left it on the table, and got a flea in her ear by an Assistant Maître d' for doing so.

You may even have 2 printed out, one for the server and one for the assistant Maître d'.

If there is a problem, no matter how small, you can be certain of, at least, an Assistant Maître d' being at the table within minutes and have it sorted immediately, if not sooner.

The service we receive, as Ambassadors, is unbelievable.   We would need to write out 4-5 every night and then not cover anyone.

Not long ago we had the GM's Secretary treating us like royalty, i made sure the GM knew!!   But give her a Hero Card!!!

This has actually been our experience as well - all of it, allthough we "only" have Diamond status with close to 600 points (so slowly climbing towards Ambassador... 😉 ).

  13. I have been on the Epic a few times in the past, and I have NEVER heard about any "solo balconies" on the ship. For solo travellers they have the studio cabins, that are all located "inside" the ship. They have only "regular" balcony cabins, that are of course possible to book also if you are only one person travelling. Depending on whenever you book the cruise, you could be lucky and "score" a balcony cabin at a very good rate for one person - but that is it. There are no "solo balcony cabins" on the Epic that I know of.....

  14. Regarding being allowed to bring a drone on a cruise or not:

It is important to note that in some countries it is not allowed to fly a drone in some areas. I live in Norway myself, and in all of Norway It is not permitted to fly closer than 5 km from an airport without permission from the air traffic service, ie. the tower at the airport. And even the entire Oslo city centre is a "no-drone-zone" because of  Almost every day there are tourists with drones who are stopped by the police, fined and the drone often confiscated.

I am pretty certain Norway is not the only country that have these restrictions. And a "no-drone-zone" five km (3 miles) in all directions from an airport, is a larger area than most people would think...

  15. It seems like what I first wrote, still is current - that you can cancel up to 48 hours before arriving in the port where the shore excursion is booked for....?

I cancelled a tour on board on my last cruise in August 2023, and received the money as OBC. It is my understanding that when cancelling before the cruise starts, then the refund would go back to your original credit card.

    https://www.ncl.com/fr/en/cruise-faq/what-cancellation-policy-tours-and-where-do-i-cancel

  16. I have a cruise booked for next year, that I am thinking about cancelling because of the high price I currently have on the booked inside cabin. And instead wait until 1-2 months after the final payment date (currently 120 days before sailing date) to re-book it. I have almost $2000 in FCC from a price-drop on a cruise we did this year, that I plan on using to pay at least parts of the 2024 cruise. Lets say I cancel the 2024 cruise now and re-book it about 2 months before the sailing date (so 2 months after the official final payment date), at a price that is probably more "acceptable" to my wallet at the time (😊), and there happens to be a price-drop after I have booked and paid for the cruise but before the "16-day-FCC-deadline". Would I then be able to receive a new "price-drop-FCC" even though the cruise is already paid mainly with price-drop-FCC from last year? 🤞🤞

Hoping to hear from someone who has done (or tried to do) just that. 🙂🙃

  17. It will cost you more to order it through room service, as you then would have to pay 20% gratuity AND the fixed room service fee of $9,95 on top of the drink price. If you get it from one of the bars yourself, you would "only" be charged the 20% gratuity on top of the drink price.

    Hi everyone

Has this happened to anyone? I notice my assigned cabin still available on a mocked booking.

While I have been assigned a cabin I see a note that says NCL still reserves the right to make changes.

And yes my original booking is an "X"  guaranteed category but it has always been once assigned it is good to go.

This is the first time this happened to me.  NCL has changed its policy?

    Thanks

    gerry1.10

Could the explanation be that your assigned cabin is a "HC type" cabin, and therefore not yet guaranteed from NCL just in case someone with special needs decides to book the same cabin category?
