  1. Good morning and Welcome to DAY 5 of "LIVE" from Norwegian Joy. It feels good to wake up in Bermuda. It especially feels good when you're on a cruise ship and waking up in Bermuda. I was out like a light last night shortly after dinner. I did wake up however, after 4 hours of watching news. I forgot that the casino opens at 9:00 p.m. while in Bermuda. I will tell you that the casino was packed and it seemed like no one had ever been to the casino. It was very wild. No trouble, just wild and crazy. Today, I will explore more of Sandy's Parish. My exact plans have not been decided, but I will see what the day brings. I know I would like to visit the Bermuda National Museum, here at the Royal Naval dockyard. I may wait until tomorrow to do that. Here are a few pics from this morning. Radio Royal Naval dockyard Spice H2O this morning Tour buses getting ready for passengers English breakfast at The Local on Deck 7 Nice shading on Deck 17 Clocktower Mall .

  3. Hello everyone and good day. Today was a beautiful day, and I now realize how much I have missed Bermuda. The weather, the water, the scenery and the locals. It is very rare when all four factors are much better than you expect. I rented a scooter and drove over to Flatts Village (Bermuda National Aquarium/Zoo) and to Southampton Parish (Horseshoe Bay Beach) I had a wonderful time at each location, even though Horseshoe Bay Beach was very crowded. I think most of the people there were cruise passengers. I didn't get in the water so I can't tell how warm it was, but I think it was very cold. Most adults were not swimming, but there were a lot of kids swimming. Kids can swim at any water temperature. I liked watching stingrays at the aquarium, and I always love watching the flamingos. There were many Cruise passengers there as well, but it seemed that several Local school classes were there. I took tons of photos, but here are just a few from my first day in Bermuda. Thanks for tuning in. Radio I got off of the ship around 10:00. A recovery area is being set up for returning passengers. 4. Good Morning and Welcome to "LIVE" from Norwegian Joy. Welcome to Bermuda. Norwegian Joy picked up the Pilot around 7am, and approached the pier slowly at Kings Wharf around 7:45. I was kind of startled when the crew launched the "line cannon" that sends the mooring lines ashore. I've seen it happen many times, but to hear it go off close to me kind of startled me. Passengers are free to go ashore by 8: 30.I plan to get off the ship around 10:00 am. We will be here until May 3rd at 5pm so there is no rush to get off of the ship quickly. My plans include going to Bermuda National Aquarium Horseshoe Bay Beach and a few other places. Here are a few pics from this morning. Radio Garden Cafe Bermuda sunrise at 6:30 We are almost there Bermuda Pilot has boarded. MSC Meraviglia is docked at Heritage Wharf MSC Meraviglia left Brooklyn, New York the same time we left on Sunday. We are docked here, at Kings Wharf. Passengers are free to go ashore. .
  5. Hello everyone, and good day. Today was another relaxing day at sea. I went to Savor (MDR) for breakfast this morning. It was OK, but I prefer the Local for breakfast much better. We had a Slot Pull in Joy Casino and had 46 players who entered for $20 each. After everyone had a chance to play, we ended with $16. We didn't win the Jackpot, but it was fun. Several passengers were very lucky, and I was glad that they played. It was a lot of fun cheering on the participants.Joy Casino offered a couple bottles of wine for our Slot Pull raffle. The pools.decks were crowded again today. And a passenger was complaining about too many passengers on deck. The mother suggested "If you don't like crowds then don't go on the cruise." Tonight I have The Wheel of Fortune Game Show and 80's Dance night. I can't stay up too late because tomorrow we will be docked by 8am at Heritage Wharf in Bermuda. Here are some pics from today. Radio Savor MDR Savor MDR 2 I love the Starbucks vending machine and in Garden Cafe Busy busy pool deck It was very warm today Everyone was very happy Thriller dance class in Atrium Our Slot Pull choice. 4 pulls at $5 each. . .

  7. Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 3 of LIVE from Norwegian Joy. I woke up this morning to warmer weather than the last 2 days. We are 24 hours from arriving in Bermuda, but I read that it was 90° back home. Yikes. I had a great dinner last night at La Cucina (DECK6). I enjoyed a Filetto Di Manso Al Pepe Verde. (Beef tenderloin) I also had Lasagne as my starter. The food was very good, but the service was =very= slow. We have a group Slot Pull this morning in the Joy Casino with over 70 participants. It should be a lot of fun. Hopefully we will win big. Here are a few pics from last night and this morning. Radio Joy Casino was busy last night The casino for smokers is in an enclosed Glass room. 11. Hello everyone and good day. Today was a very relaxing and restful day. After the Meet and Greet, I was able to have lunch in Garden Cafe' on DECK 16. There were many plentiful and delicious options at the buffet. The pool deck was very crowded, and it seemed like it was wall to wall passengers. It was such a nice day that many passengers took advantage of the good weather and sunshine. I had to "watch news" after lunch, and I was down hard for a couple of hours. The beds are very firm, but it suited me just fine. I was lucky enough to get invited to an Officers Reception in the Haven Lounge. I think I was invited there because I organized and and set up the Meet and Mingle Cruise Critic group. I loved the Haven area. It is beautiful and very relaxing. I had two cruises with Haven accommodations a few years ago and now I want to stay there for a future cruise. Here are some pics from today. Thanks for tuning in. Radio A sunny day and blue skies were enjoyed by many passengers. There are over 4,200 passengers so I'm bored this cruise. The Haven Horizon lounge is very nice. I love the private pool area. The Haven concierge lounge is very inviting. .

  14. Hello everyone good morning. Welcome to DAY 2 of "LIVE" from Norwegian Joy. Norwegian Joy left New York a little before 4pm. yesterday. The temperature was in a low 70's but it was a little cloudy with no rain. The Casino opened around 6pm, I had to check out how things were. I like the fact that the slots will be open all night long for the next two nights until we arrive in Bermuda. While we are in Bermuda the casino will be open from 9pm until early morning. I went to dinner last night at the "Q" Texas Smokehouse, and it was very good. I was able to enjoy a nice brisket with a side of jalapeno grits. The grits we're good but very hot. There was a live country music band playing that played very well but the volume was a little loud. This morning I am co-hosting a Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle at the District BrewHouse at 11am. My co-host has put together several small raffle gifts for some attendees. Here are a few pics from last night in this morning. Thanks for tuning in. Radio The Statue of Liberty We passed under the Verrazano Narrows bridge. "Q" Texas Smokehouse There was plenty of room in here. 18. Hello everyone and good day. Norwegian Joy has left Manhattan, NYC, and is on her way to beautiful Bermuda. MSC Meraviglia will be ahead of us on this Bermuda voyage but will arrive on Tuesday. Norwegian Joy will arrive on Wednesday morning and will only be traveling about 10 kts. I'm not sure how many passengers are on board, but I think we may be at capacity. Embarkation day is always the busiest and most stressful day of any Cruise. I'm sure things will start calming down as the night progresses. I have a standard balcony solo cabin on the starboard side of Deck 12. It is a basic cabin and it has all the normal cabin amenities. I like the fact that it has a glass shower with no curtains. It is a little strange that there are no drawers anywhere in the cabin, but it does have many shelves in several places. Here are a few pics from entering the terminal and on board Norwegian Joy. Thanks for tuning in. Radio I approached the Lincoln Tunnel which would take me under the Hudson River and to Manhattan. I'm not sure why, but I really don't like the Lincoln Tunnel. I drove by a Carriage Ride on 11th Avenue and 42nd Street And I can see my home for the next 7 nights. Norwegian Joy is a beautiful ship. Workers are busy prepping. The terminal was crazy busy but I was able to make it from this point onto the ship and only 15 minutes. I don't think I remember this terminal having food vendors. This photo props before you board And away we go . . . Almost there. . . Norwegian Joy from New York Port webcam (PTZtv) .
  19. Hello everyone. Today is DAY 1 of "LIVE" from Norwegian Joy. I had a good sleep last night in the hotel. I stayed at Embassy Suites (On International Blvd) in Elizabeth. This hotel is very close to Newark Liberty International. The hotel was clean, and the food was good. (They have coffee 24hrs/day) I will be leaving here soon to drive to Pier 88 and board Norwegian Joy. I should arrive at the Pier around 12-12:30. I am hoping the traffic won't be too bad. Oh, by the way . . . Today is CRUISE DAY See you on board. Radio Pier 88 Embassy Suites Hotel I set up a Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle for Monday What day is it? .
  20. Hello everyone, I made it to Elizabeth, NJ in one piece. It took me about 3 hrs to get here from Maryland. I had to watch news when I arrived, but I was up in time for a light dinner. Today is a “Radio Rest Day” It should only take about 30 min to drive to Pier 88 tomorrow. My check-in time is 12-1230. The forecast for tomorrow is partly cloudy (but no rain) and 78f. Norwegian Joy (to Manhattan), Anthem of the Seas (to Bayonne), and MSC Meraviglia (to Brooklyn) are all heading up to this area and should arrive early tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is Cruise Day!
