  1. Hi there!

We just booked our first princess cruise- we have been on many other cruises but have always wanted to try princess. Can you please tell me what is not included in the cruise line fare. I know the specialty dining is extra, liquor but what else is not included?? What about what's in the international cafe'? We are going on the royal princess next March. We will need all the advice we can get. Thanks in advance.

  2. Like you we too cruised Carnival but it was quite some time ago. We do prefer Royal above the others having cruised with them 4x with 2 more coming up this year. We like the decor and layout of their ships so much better also and its very easy to navigate and find your way around. I think the food in general is very good and their specialty restaurants are excellent. As for ships, I think the Freedom class and above may be to your liking. However the radiance class is also very nice too but smaller. It just depends where and when you all want to travel in the Caribbean. Keep in mind the summer months and over spring break do tend to have more kids. Since you want to go end of March early April- I think you all should be fine. I know my college daughter's spring break is 2nd week of March. Only you will know what you like and the only way is to give RCCL a try and I do recommend them. They have always been so wonderful to us and we have never had a bad time. Best of luck. :)

  3. Correct, the luggage tag image will be at the end of the Guest Vacation Documents (cruise docs), which are usually released around 7 weeks before the cruise.

There should also be a "Print Luggage Tags" button on the same page as your online check-on appear at the same time as your cruise docs.

Ok thank you! We do not sail till end of April so I guess that explains why i didn't see them. :)

  4. Thanks for taking us all along! It was so nice to get your report on everything and thanks for answering so many of our questions. I just can't wait for our cruise in April- just made our final payment this past week. I plan to do much of the same thing as you RELAX! It's been a tough year for us too- last year I mean. Hope you have a good day and safe travels back home. Thanks again!! :)

PS You might want to update the year on your countdown to cruise for next year it say 2017 and I think its 2018.

  5. I was at port at 9:30 or 9:45. I had to return a rental car so I knew I needed time to do that and get to port. I got a ticket when I checked in that was green and said group 2. Green was general boarding. I can't speak to how it worked for C&A status and check in.

They told me in the terminal they were expecting to start boarding at 10:45. They were later starting but it was quick once they did start boarding.

This is just so different that Port Everglades- well, I guess I will just arrive early and hope we are among the first. I know we will have the suite guests, PC, D+ D and emerald go before us....but hopefully that won't be too bad. Thanks for all the updated information. It helps a lot.

  6. I personally found the food great in the MDR. I ate there 3 times each time having something different. It was very good! I did Chops. I'll be doing it again tonight. The filet was fall apart good! I never did try Giovanni's so I can't talk about it. I do know from a fellow cruiser that if you have the eat, play, dine deal then you get a different menu thank the regular menu.

I found it easier than Miami. Miami was extremely busy and crowded. I have heard that there were long lines for shuttles and it took forever to get dropped off. I was there fairly early so I didn't notice it myself. From what I noticed there was a reserved area for Diamond Plus and suite guests but everyone else was in the same holding area. You will be boarding before the general boarding because of your C&A status as it goes b2b, wedding parties, pinnacle & suites then C&A status. The families and those needing assistance are mixed in their somewhere as well. Then non C&A guests.

I was general boarding group 2 and it was quick. I was on board by 11;30 I think. Was cupcake cupboard on the boardwalk across from the dog house? If it was then it's now cups and scoops. Ice cream and cupcakes for a fee

Gee thanks for the warning about embarkation, that makes me so nervous. What time did you get to the port? We will plan to get to port early. We are staying at the Raddison and will take the earliest shuttle possible. The cupcake place was on the royal promenade so I will have to see on deck plans what went in its place. Do they assign you boarding groups and how is this done?? I just want to be onboard as early as I can. I literally can't wait for the days to go by and our cruise to be here. :)

  7. We are cruising the Oasis end of April we last cruised back in 2009 and it was on the Oasis inaugural- been a long time. We are excited to see the changes since we were last on. Can you tell me how the food is overall in the MDR. We will be eating here the bulk of our time with only Chops and Giovanni's table booked- we loved those 2 places from last time. Also, since she is now sailing out of Port Canaveral- how is the process of embarkation there? We like to arrive early and do they have a special place for priority boarding?? After this cruise we will be emerald and I was just wondering how the process went. Do you know what took the place of the cupcake cuboard?? Not sure what is there now. Thanks again.

  8. We are sailing on Oasis in April- was wondering if anyone can give me the names of a few shuttle services that are not expensive that can take me from the airport MCO to the hotel Raddison? And then back from Raddison to airport when we get back. Thanks so much in advance.

  9. Hi there. We are on the same cruise and have been researching same options (although quite late). Anyway. Did you end up booking an excursion to trunk bay? Cost? Details ? Thanks. We are Helen and Larry from Ohio btw

No we did not book thru ship because it really only allows 1.5 hrs there which is not enough time to really swim and snorkel. We are planning to do it on our own and that way we can control when we want to come back. Not ideal but I think we can manage it just fine.

  10. How awesome is this that you both are fortunate enough to sail on such an amazing ship and in the Royal Suite. We could never ever in our lifetime afford something like that but I am so happy you all can and will have to live vicariously through you all. I hope you enjoy every second of it. We were on the Inaugural sailing of Oasis and thought that experience was about the best we had ever had- we saved for 2 years to afford our little meager D1 balcony on the hump- We had the best time ever!! I am really interested to see how you like it sailing from a northern port- We live in Ocean City MD and have considered sailing from there on 1 of the newer ships so this review will be very useful and helpful for us. I am excited to see what your thoughts are and look forward with anticipation to this review. Thanks so much for doing this for all of us!!!!! :D
