  1. Was the ship nowhere near capacity for this sailing?
  2. Thank you. We are in the US and going on an Alaskan cruise ( with a stop in Canada).
  3. I haven’t read through all these posts but I’m wondering how people handle this dilemma . We’re told we need a negative PCR Covid test within 48 hours of departure. However , Walgreens cannot guarantee the results back in 48 hours ! So they suggested we also do a quick test with them in case the other results aren’t back in 48 hours , but I don’t know if the quick test is a PCR test or if it is accepted?
  4. And not sundresses/ summery clothes, since it’s usually cool?
  5. So you can dress more casual for the specialty restaurants than the formal dining nights in the MDR?
  6. I am so sorry. That must’ve been such a disappointment! It makes me wonder- At what point do we start treating this like the flu ? Five years ago if I had the flu I wouldnt have cancelled a cruise. I 'd have medicated myself and probably spent the first day or two in my room. And yet the flu is contagious and some die from it. But we aren’t all tested before a trip.
  7. Isn’t the Salty Dog Grill basically the same food as the Salty Dog Pub?
  8. Where are you able to see this season's Alaska menus?
  9. Thank you for this. Can you tell us about the entertainment and what you enjoyed?
  10. Thanks. We will have kids aged 4-17 with us, so family-friendly places would be great.
  11. We'll be staying at the Hotel Monaco at Spring and 4th Ave. Any recommendations for coffee shops or breakfast and dinner places within 1/4-1/2 mile? TIA!
  12. Are there companies that'll have a van for a group of 11 to go from the the Seattle pier back to the airport?
  13. It's not offered at ISP but maybe there are private companies.
  14. Our Ketchikan stop has been replaced with Icy Strait Point. We had planned to do sea kayaking. Is this available in Juneau or Skagway or Victoria and if so, are their private companies you can recommend? Or just in case Ketchikan is put back on (I heard that happened on the May 7th sailing), are their private companies there you can recommend? TIA!
  15. I heard the train isn't going into Canada anymore since Covid. Would it be different if not a train?
  16. Coral- So you didn’t/ aren’t going to Icy Strait Point?
  17. So the May 7th sailing ended up cutting out Juneau and adding Ketchikan back in? What about May 14 and May 21? And did they still go to Icy Straight Point?
  18. That t is our situation too. We have a free night included.
  19. Is there a way to reserve a specialty restaurant ahead of time? I can’t seem to find a way. TIA!
  20. We will be on The Crown in July ( Alaska) and I found a website that gives the actual menu for every night. Is this accurate? It’s from profcruise. TIA!
  21. A google search- “American bacon is generally served in crispy strips, streaked with fat, while British bacon, also known as rashers, is chewier and thicker, served in round slices; it’s closer to a slice of grilled deli meat than what an American would traditionally call “bacon.” But what, exactly, causes the difference. Even though American bacon is often smoked for flavor, and British bacon is often left unsmoked, or “green,” both styles of bacon are cured. American bacon is streaky with fat because it comes from pork belly, one of the fattiest parts of the pig. Rashers are cut from the loin, located in the middle of the pig’s back where the meat is leaner. The cut of meat that’s used for British bacon is actually the same cut as a pork tenderloin or loin roast, just sliced and cured differently.“ So will the ship have both?
