  1. When I booked, we expected that type of experience. Now....though I no idea when I booked it...was the summer Olympics going on. If I had known, I would not have booked the tour. Though I have a feeling this tour may be cancelled.
  2. Oh you debonair dog you. 😉 😄
  3. I suppose RCI wanted to toss the Pinns a bone after all the exclusions were happening...albeit worthless bone. 😉 😄
  4. Yes, thanks I know that from reading the "new and exciting perk for Pinns" 😉 Wahhooo! I am soooo excited. 🤪 I still find that ironic. Just recently RCI was banning Pinns when numbers were high...now they want the Pinns to bring in non Pinnacles...and call it an exciting new perk! Huh?? 🤨
  5. The question is...do you really want to drag around your full luggage until your cabin is ready to let you in?
  6. Does not make sense to me at all. First they are restricting Pinns into the SL/Ck...now they want to let us bring in non Pinnacles...even if those are in an inside cabin.? No ...does not make sense to me. Sheezz...🤔 And this is supposed to be an excited benefit for Pinnacles? Excuse me?
  7. Actually had no idea the Olympics were going on there when I booked it. Sigh...still have not visited Paris in our travels, except the airport. 😉 Drats...bad timing. Will see if they cancel it. Otherwise we still want to go, and being RCI tour...should make it back..at some point. 😮
  8. Beautiful pictures Lady Zolt! Thanks for sharing. What a great idea to do a flyover of the reef! Question for those of us doing the tour/tours in Paris. The tour we have booked, tour of the landmarks and cruise with lunch on the Seine, is just 2 days before opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Will they still run that tour? Have heard the city is doing some restrictions on incoming tourists to keep the crowds manageable. Wonder if it will affect us?
  9. I love my BOA Visa card! It's my second card that I use for traveling and for paying off RCI cruises. Nice with the no annual fee as well. 🙂 I just pulled 2K OBC for 4th quarter World Cruise on Serenade, which paid for most of my excursions I booked for the last 62 night quarter. Paying off both quarters of the WC with that card definitely put those points up there. 😉
  10. Thanks...very interesting. But from reading it...IMHO...fluff and stuff. "Alluding"...had my attention. No worries...been there done that...going on to other venues while I am still on this planet. 😉
  11. Exactly my thought. The age of the relaxing smaller ships is gone. Only the monster theme park ships geared to families are being built now. RCI letting their small ships fall apart and then either junking them or selling them off. They know full well that the older generation is not into that type of thing...so it kind of tells the story by itself. If they were expanding their target base...they would have a few of the more adventurous smaller ships on order to replace the aged ones that are leaving...of whom can go into places other than the usual Labadee, Nassau, Coco Cay etc. ports. But then again...RCI owns Silversea. Time to give them a look over.
  12. We didn't see them repairing much during the first quarter. A couple of the broken windows (there are several) and a hatch repair...but that was it that we could see. Both self leveling pool tables, revolving bar in VCL, sliding glass doors in VCL, one elevator, and most of the broken windows were all like that when we boarded, and except for two of the windows...were still broken when we left. There were other things, but I can't remember now. Nothing that would prevent the journey from continuing...but really should have been repaired before she left Miami IMHO.
  13. OK...thanks for the clarification. We "dead weights" talk with our wallet. I am now booking most of my cruises with a company that cares...though more pricey yes, but we are now back to what cruising used to be for us...with Viking. Funny thing is with so many of us doing that...RCI may look back and say "Hey, what happened to our sure thing?" (the loyalists). And this dead weight books suites...which takes a bit more out of their pocket to lose us. 😉
  14. Welcome to the real world. Those rude people seem to be everywhere now. Look at the ones behind and in front of you in line at the grocery store...the ones cutting you off in traffic...the ones that have that "me first" attitude...and the heck with you. Sigh...makes me want to curl up in bed at home and not come out. Although...we still meet some wonderful souls that negate that feeling...and bless their hearts...makes my world better. 😉
  15. Cash cow. Charge high prices...deal with the problems (or actually not) as they come. 😉
  16. As you probably already guessed...I think Celebrity would indeed be too sedate for him. So that leaves Symphony, which has already raised prices and Allure. Are you flying in? If so, I would chose FLL. The airport is much closer than PC. If driving...I would chose PC...much easier to negotiate traffic. Then there is the cost. Obviously both have same itineraries, so I would check into the total cost of flight (or driving) and bottom line of each cruise. Enjoy your time with your son. 🙂
  17. Me too. And will be happy to contribute again early July, staying on then until we reach the end in Miami. 🙂 And also my thanks for those that are still contributing. I am doing the virtual cruiser ......following along until then. 😉
  18. Serenade should have gone in for extensive dry dock before the WC put her out for 274 nights. So many things not working. She is in need of some real care. I hated to see her in that condition, since the Radiance ladies have always been my favorite class of ships. Still enjoyed my recent 63 nights on board just weeks ago, but was amazed at the lack of repair. Will be back on again for another 62 nights this July to finish up the WC. Will be interesting to see what else is not working then. 🤕
  19. Agree.....LOL...those are not parents...they are breeders. The real parents have children that are behaved and are learning their manners to grow up to become responsible adults.
  20. Agree totally. Just stay on the ship if you are concerned. Personally I could happily live the rest of my life without having to go to Labadee. It is not the port it used to be. We enjoyed it when it was a tendered port. Much more relaxed and natural back then. Now...yeah, wouldn't bother me to stay on the ship. All we do is walk around the area for some exercise anyway, then back to the ship for early lunch...continuing to stay on board to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the empty ship.
  21. Thank you so much for the posts and the beautiful pictures! Enjoy your time in Australia. Nice plans you have! 🙂
  22. I have 5 Viking cruises booked. Pricey...but oh so worth it. And ditto to no kids. 😉
  23. OMG John, you climbed that with your back in that condition? Wow! Good for you, great photo shots! I think I recognize Melissa and perhaps her husband behind her? Beautiful photos! We are doing several overnights early next year in Sydney, connected with Viking ....staying right there on the harbor. We are ready to try the climb as well. 🙂
