  1. We Americans really are the worst. I’ve literally heard Americans in foreign countries say both “this is America, speak English” and “go back to where you came from.” These statements are incredibly rude at best, but outside of America they just made me crack up.
  2. Everyone on my tour bus is coughing, sneezing, and sniffling…
  3. Social media influencer actually was a thing 10 years ago at this point, sorry to make you feel old. Not on the level it is now, but it definitely was a thing by then.
  4. Oooh, I didn’t realize Amsterdam had an alternate port. I hope we get the good one…
  5. Yup. I was expecting that announcement to end with “I hope you enjoy your day at sea on Wednesday” but I actually cheered out a “yes!!!” when he said Amsterdam. I wonder what the reception is overall. I’ve heard/seen people boo or scream in public venues when itinerary changes have been announced on other cruises.
  6. I view it as an upgrade. I wasn’t planning on going to Paris since it’s such a long bus ride each way. Le Havre didn’t look too exciting. Amsterdam you dock right in the city center. I’m sure some people will riot because they won’t be able to get their Eiffel Tower selfie, but I’m actually very excited about the change.
  7. When the “ding dong” comes into your room, you know it’s gonna be something dramatic. I won’t steal your thunder and I’ll allow you to share with the crowd what just happened…
  8. I love Indian food, and this one never disappoints. I wish Carnival did more Indian dishes. (Splendor!!!) I love how on Norwegian they always have an Indian station at their buffet, which is also usually pretty decent.
  9. Is there a name for the husband of a Karen who can’t ever disagree with her publicly for fear of her wrath? I know there’s been discussion on what the male version of a Karen is (Terry, Ken, Chad…IMHO a male Karen is still just a Karen.) But we need a name for the embarrassed husband that quietly follows behind a Karen. People need to remember this is a budget cruise line. That doesn’t excuse everything, but it means that some things are not going to be as perfect as you expected, and you gotta expect and accept that. I’ve had a couple mishaps on previous Carnival cruises, but I come back because on average it’s a great product and the value for what you pay is outstanding. And I never yell or slam my hands on the table because I’m a decent person and have worked customer service jobs (which should be a requirement for everyone to do 6 months in a customer-facing job for every single adult, then we’d be a much more polite society if people realized just how stupid they look throwing tantrums about small things.) The couple next to me at dinner yesterday sent back three entrees saying “these are all HORRIBLE! Just inedible!.” (It’s fine to send back a dish if you’re not enjoying it, but you don’t have to be rude about it.) Meanwhile I sent back two clean entree plates and enjoyed every bite…can’t go wrong with the Indian Vegetarian, and the other one was just fine too. Not the best meal I ever had, but I don’t expect it to be at this price point.
  10. I’m not totally sure, as it’s been a while since I’ve been on the Pride. I’m more familiar with the Spirit. I’ll try to take a picture next time I’m in there if it’s empty (don’t wanna get reported for taking pics in the locker room haha) unless @TxTeach79beats me to it, since he seems to be taking pictures all over the ship and covering much more ground than I am.
  11. I was able to get into the locker room. But I didn’t actually use a locker since none of the water is working (sauna, steam room, or shower.) So after the gym I just went back to my cabin instead of using the facilities. I usually use the steam room and spa showers every day, which would be very nice given all the walking I’m doing in these ports. But if it was a choice between certain things like this not finishing in time and the cruise being canceled/delayed, I’ll just say I’m happy to be on the ship even if it’s not quite 100% yet.
  12. The signs around the ship still say David’s as well. I think they just removed the statue, put up a couple new art prints, and “changed the name.” I’m wondering if they ran out of time to do some things, since there are still contractors onboard working on bathrooms and other public areas. And some people seem to have cabin updates that not everyone got, so maybe they will keep slowly updating those over the next few cruises (if rooms are empty.) They also are apparently still doing a lot of work in the spa. The saunas and steam rooms are not functioning.
  13. Oooh I forgot about that one. Just one time, not every cruise, right? (Would be nice if it was every cruise like Norwegian does at certain levels)
  14. Oh I’m all for it. Aside from some bars not yet having certain ingredients delivered (no limes!) and said they should have them tomorrow, I’m just living my best life here on the Carnival Pride. id say “ we could never leave port and I’d be happy” but that’s happened to me before, so I should be careful what I wish for.
  15. That’s because as you pointed out, “sailaway” ended over an hour ago, yet SAILAWAY has not begun haha 😂
  16. I’m guessing millennials killed Guy’s fries too cause I’m on the Pride now and they are generic. Damn you millennials!
  17. Ah yes, millennials killed Buffalo Wild Wings. Millennials killed the housing market. Millennials killed the San Diego Zoo. Millennials killed everything you know and love. Kindly sit down.
  18. Which shows it was never about actually fixing the issue at hand, it was about the joy some people take in finding a reason to complain and demanding money for it.
  19. I read the whole thing...and honestly I find $500 fair to generous. I get how much you've gambled in the casino. I'm a gambler too and haven't "paid" for a cruise in years, on NCL and several other lines. People act like lost sleep is worth thousands upon thousands of dollars. It's simply not. If NCL started caving to everyone who demands a high level of compensation for "lost sleep" caused by one reason or another, they'd go bust. I know you had additional struggles with how things were handled and the overall communication of it, but they aren't goin to compensate you for that. If you don't like the way NCL handles customer service and related issues, go to a more upscale line. Sorry, but I think you've taken this too far and the problem is bigger in your head and you're wasting a lot of time and energy on it which makes you think the problem is bigger than it actually is.. Move on with your life.
  20. Well....probably not in the grand scheme of things. I pay for all those "free" cruises one way or another, haha But that's the beauty of a gambling gift/problem
  21. Ah...so if I only ever book casino rates, which are usually $100 per person...I'll get $25 in OBC on my 25th cruise? I hate to be one of those people that wants more free stuff on their free cruise, but it would be nice to get more than $25 haha I guess I could book a non-casino rate for my 25th cruise, but that seems a little stupid to do just to get some OBC.
