I always avoid walking through the casino, because eof the smoke. It was strong and noticeable last cruise when I cut through quickly. To avoid walking through there, I just walk through the VIP Gaming Room. There is no Churchill's on here as that was turned into a random arcade room.

So smoking aside,  what's the casino verdict on masks , are masks required while seated and gambling at a slot machines in the casino ???

  2. Yes, but a good lesson to witness, please everyone when asking a question in a new thread title everyone has to learn to use a question mark in the title. So a thousand people don't chick thinking you're adding something new instead of asking a question that's already been asked a hundred times before

That is why we sail Celebrity----no smoking anywhere indoors!  We are trying HAL due to the TA itinerary.  Hopefully no balcony smokers.

True no indoor smoking on Celebrity.. BUT way way more outside smoking areas , HAL normally has just one outside smoking area on their remaining ships, and unlike Celebrity you don't unknowingly stumble across a smoking area when exploring outside.

Personally I prefer HAL's smoking protocols, accept for the casino, they are WAY WAY more restrictive than Celebrity

If I have to wear a mask on the cruise, I will be wearing it. At least I will be on a cruise. Things can change. The cruise lines don't want a repeat of shutting down. I think they have been playing a waiting game, between each other, to see who would go out first. To see what problems would arise. They don't want a Grand of Diamond incident to happen again. A friend of mine was on the Grand. They had to quarantine. Because of that, would never cruise again. Said in was a nightmare.

While most will agree that the cruise lines don't want to shut down again, and a repeat of 2020, and that your/our mask acceptance will help that cause..

But it should not be overlooked that personally for many, and by in large from a customer/consumer point of view, cruising remains a very expensive recreational choice, and not a casual mandatory activity, so while the leap to masks, and restrictions as a solution for cruise lines is a easy one, it may not be for customers, there's been a shift, consumers in general have come to feel that it's not 2020 anymore, mind sets have changed, the sacrifice, and concessions of the past year may not be so easily over looked going forward when so many other mask-less, and less restrictive recreational alternatives exist for their 2021 vacation dollar

    YMMV

I would have still booked. I don't love wearing a mask. I'd really rather not. But for me, it's just not that bad.

I feel you're probably in the majority, but that still leaves a LARGE percentage of people who seek a vacation to escape the realities of the pandemic , and not one that embraces it

  6. I wonder back when the congress passed the "Rescue Alaska Tourism Act" (?)  bill back in May if all the people who rushed to book Alaska cruises would have, if they knew at that time they were going to have to where masks ?

I'd be willing to bet a significant percentage would not have booked at that time knowing they'd have to wear masks

Wasn't there an hour ago, but is now. Same for on the left hand menu. I had seen it some time ago but then it disappeared until now. I think the HAL IT dept. is working to coordinate the Navigator and Website menus but when they add one to Navigator, it gets dropped on the Website and then they finally fix it.

Not back for us yet, just checked all our future booked HAL cruises, and none either with HIA or the single barebones without HIA has the pre-pay crew incentive links or any indications of include perks associated with each booking

Add it to the list of all the current anomalies when it comes to booking a cruise  🤪

I have the same things as before, dining promotions, excursions and pre-paid grats all showing on all bookings.

But are those part of a promo (Have it all, ect )? or did you purchase them

Can I ask where on the booking page you see them ?

    .

  10. Also Interestingly on one of my booked cruises, in the recent past I could see my included gratuities from the original HIA promo under the "Itinerary" icon at the top of the itinerary listing, now that's gone too, absolutely no reference at all to any of the HIA perks to be seen anywhere now on the booking page (?)

Does anyone see any listed HIA perks anywhere on your bookings ?

  11. I clearly remember seeing the pre-pay icon /link when logged in on the "Manage my cruise" page, and thinking I'll come back to it later, but now I can't seem to see it anywhere on the page (????)

If you see it, what section is it under ?

Where is the link to pre-pay ??
