  1. Is that for access to the gambling floor or the water park/aquarium? Or both?
  2. Without a doubt, it's my one foray into small ship cruising, the Uncruise small ship in Hawaii. Very different from medium/large ship cruising, but also worth it from a bang-to-buck viewpoint.
  3. Now we know that Harrod's is lying about peep toe shoes being a "supremely elegant silhouette" - MSC and neptuno say so! Warning: don't try this logic near the shoe-affinity afflicted.
  4. mvh: When there are tendering situations, or are at private islands, it's worth taking a good look at the cruise line excursions. I did one on RCCL that got us off the ship earlier, kept us moving with very little down time, and got us back to the tendering line just in time to visit the WC before the next event aboard. That said, Kitty's itinerary only has to worry about the private island part of the deal. I assume Puerto Plata and Nassau are the ports of call. Will update you if I find something worth doing... even if it might not be the MSC excursion.
  5. I noticed that the traffic on the MSC Roll Call pages was light compared to the posting I'm seeing here, so: Do you post on the roll call for your cruise?
  6. They didn't ask for a picture from us, and it's our first MSC line cruise; maybe they think it's best to take a picture at the front desk now?
  7. When you were on Ocean Cay, did you notice if people could snorkel with their own gear? I've seen rental packages for snorkel equipment in the shore excursions, but I have a weird shaped face and need glasses, so I bring my own instead of rent. (The one that involved a boat trip out to a shipwreck isn't about the gear rental, it's about the boat trip. I get that.)
  8. Thanks for the sanity check - I swear I thought I saw it as "free" earlier this weekend, but thought I may have mis-remembered. It's a lot less confusing as-is, but I still had to ask.
  9. (I've cruised other lines, but this is the first time I'm looking at going on MSC) I just so happen to be looking at booking a cruise this weekend, because other vacation plans fell through. On the MSC page, it says: Labor Day Sale Limited Time Offer Drinks & Wi-Fi included + up to $400 in On Board Credit But when I go to book, it shows two price points: one at the advertised price and one at a higher price for a package deal. Let me guess, they don't really mean that they're including things at their advertised price, but that they're trying to sell me their package deal, right?
  10. My $0.02: the best night life you'll find on the Kona side of the island is a night snorkel (or dive, depending on your skills) with the manta rays. This was an amazing included excursion on my cruise, but it's offered by a bunch of 3rd parties. The only warning is that, even if they include food, you will probably become hungry again once you're no longer on the small boat, so plan on finding late night snacks or room service aboard.
