People, we need to calm down. I can understand the apprehension since we also have a B2B booked on the Triumph in September 2019. We need to let them complete their changes which will take a couple of more days, then we will know for sure. I agree that some information should have been posted on their website especially in their booking engine and on those effected cruise managers, but it is what it is. Having cruised on Carnival since 1985 I expect the following: The ship will remain as the Triumph. Deck plans will be updated, new cabins and new cabin catagories will be introduced. Those passengers in decommissioned cabins will be moved to similar or better cabins without extra cost. Our bookings will remain the same and we will not have to rebook. Those that booked any excursions including FTTF, will find that those excursions will still be attached to your booking. Take a deep breath and try to relax as hard as that is.
Thank you for being a voice of reason. Carnival wouldn't have the following it does if it regularly screwed their customers. :)

My FTTF was cancelled as of this morning for one of the Sept 2019 Canada New England triumph cruises. Makes me wonder what they are changing
I hope you can get your FTTF back when the bookings re-open. That is something I would stress out about until Monday :O

I don't know how it is in other ports, but, in the Port of Miami they always walk across the walkway in the waiting area and do a cheeky little wave to everyone waiting. Haha. I'm sure it is fun for them, but I always get excited because I know boarding will start not too long after :D

Is anyone having problem with there booking. I am booked for 9/16/2019 for bermuda. I am locked out from seeing anything regarding reservation.
There is another thread about this on the boards already. You can find it here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2660799&page=2
It is a known issue, and Carnival has said that the bookings page will be back within a few days (Monday/Tuesday).

I have a B2B booked on her in November. Like you, very early, but we wanted a certain cabin. I went to check my booking today to check pricing and whatnot and noticed that both of my bookings had disappeared. Glad to know that we aren't the only ones impacted. The wife and I were starting to panic.

I like your idea of countering them. How do I go about doing that? My offer came in an email, when I click on it, it tells me the room and the price. Accept it or don’t, that’s it.
It doesn't work like that. Either you want the deal they're giving you, or you don't. There is no negotiation.

We will be on the same cruise and Deck 6 as well!
Wife and I found deck 6 to be super convenient. Not far from the aft pool. Not far from the Lido. Not far from the promenade. Nice central deck.

Oh hey there neighbor :D
Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the cruise.
I'm still congested from getting off of the ship. I blame the promenade deck. The smoke in the casino was overflowing and out of control. The whole 5th floor stunk terribly.

Hi, sailing on her on the 22nd of Oct. How was the food?
The steakhouse was excellent. The MDR was good. The buffet was okay. It's pre-2.0 so there is no guys. No blue iguana.

How was the wifi?
Wifi was alright. We only stayed on ships wifi for the hub app. I lost connection a couple times on my balcony, otherwise, no issues.

Hi Cruise Critic,
I have tried looking myself, but I am finding a lot of conflicting information. I know Carnival recently changed the policy where adult pools are family friendly as opposed to adult only. However, I know because of the backlash they received, they quickly reeled back and have returned them to adult only except during peak times. However, I am still finding conflicting information about that here.
Can someone please set the record straight for me? I leave on the Splendor on the 18th. Curious if the aft-pool will be adult only or family friendly.

I sweat out the booze and work off the hangover that was incurred the night before.:');)

Seriously?????? Irma was a massive storm. The east coast of Florida was in the eastern quadrants of the storm as it approached and passed through the state. The east side of the storm is the "bad" side to be on.
That meant the east coast suffered heavy flooding from the storm surge, tornadoes, and punishing wind.
Power is out for many areas. Removal of storm debris is ongoing.
The OP is justified in her concerns.
I also suggest that for any local reservation you may have in Florida that you check closer to your departure dates. Make sure the your hotel is not doing the right thing by making sure that their rooms are being given to evacuees or emergency cruises restoring power to the state. Depending on where and when your reservations are, it might just be that the rooms were not freed up as soon as the hotel is projecting at this point.
Yes, seriously. There are hotels open. There is gas. The dramatics need to stop. OP will get on the ship and be fine. I was merely suggesting that OP stop complaining and start enjoying their vacation.

we are suppose to set sail out of port canaveral with carnival cruise for an eastern Caribbean cruise to St marteen,St Kitts and San Juan which all three islands were hit. The cruise is suppose to leave in 9-16-17 and we live in Michigan the cruise line will not let us know until the 14th what our choices are.
The choices are easy: get on the boat, or go home.
So here we are driving to Florida and there are no hotels to be found and very little gas. We really should not be here. Unhappy cruiser VirginiaThe east coast didn't get a direct hit. There are plenty of hotels available. I leave on Monday, and my hotel is up, running and my reservation re-confirmed for 9/17.
You're being extremely dramatic and immature. You're about to go on a lovely tropical vacation, where you're going to have a lot of fun, eat a bunch of good food, and sit back in the sun sipping delicious cocktails. Are you going to make every port? Maybe not. But such is cruising. I suggest you get ready to have fun, and go on the ship with an open mind ready to enjoy your vacation. If not you might as well turn around and drive back to Michigan, because you're going to sabotage your own vacation with a bad attitude.

I sailed Triumph during Easter week. There was no adult pool and 1000 children onboard. Most children were kept busy in camps. The top deck behind the big screen by the whale tail was the perfect spot.
I thought that the new "official policy" for ships was that, aft-pool is adult only, unless sailing during "peak times" (holidays, spring break, summer) in which case they're family friendly.

Puerto Plata itself is approx 20 min via cab. I have only been to AC one time, and it was raining the whole time, so a number of people elected to stay on the ship. However, when I was walking around the cruise terminal, there was a tourist corral with a number of taxis waiting. So I am sure if you really wanted to explore Puerto Plata it wouldn't be that hard to get there.

The Nanny State of New York doesn't allow you to purchase liquor from the fun shops either. Sucks, but it is what it is.
-
Cannon fire at 9:45? Ghost ship confirmed. The ship is haunted. No one sail on her! ;) :P

As with pre-purchased excursions, when you order Cheers online pre-cruise, you pay for it at order time. I'm not aware of any way around that. If you're thinking you won't spend all your OBC, you might want to consider waiting to purchase Cheers until you board and the OBC will go towards the Cheers program but you'll pay a little more for it ($5/day I believe is the difference in price).
Do you pay for all of cheers upfront, or just the extra gratuities?

Hard to say until your on the ship. My advice: don't worry about it at all, get on the ship, grab a cocktail, sit back and relax. You're on vacation.
PS: Take good care of the ship, getting on her right after you on the 18th! :D

I don't have a problem with a change. My problem lies with them not taking into consideration the possible damage these ports may sustain after this storm. How do they expect to get people on the ship if these ports aren't open or if there are no flights into Fl.
Flights have never been a concern of Carnival's. It is the passenger's responsibility to get to the port, always has been.
However, if the port is damaged badly enough, Carnival won't have a choice. Once the weather reaches a certain severity the Coast Guard takes over the port, making decisions on the operational nature on it, and who gets to come and go, until such time as the weather improves or, in the event of damage, repairs have been made to their satisfaction.
Carnival is just waiting and biding their time, not cancelling cruises so they don't have to pay out refunds. They would rather alter the cruise, giving people the options of cruise credits. That or, have the Coast Guard declare the port closed and cruises cancelled so they can point fingers and say "Hey, not our fault, we didn't have a choice".

So... you're upset about them having your money?:confused:I couldn't tell from your 5 other posts in this thread. I just wanted to make 100% sure /end sarcasm
In all honesty, what is done is done. We should do as Jamman said and all take a deep breath and see what happens on Monday.
