Just booked this hotel for a 2 day stay prior to our cruise in August.

Has anyone stayed at this hotel?  I have read mostly good reviews.  

The pictures look nice.  They also offer free breakfast each morning made to order.

Otherwise we would be looking at the Holiday Inn Royal Poinciana  Blvd.

We are sailing in August. Wonder if we are going to have problems with Walgreens or CVS.  Got me worried now.  I live in the Chicagoland area.

We decided to stay at another hotel for the 2 days prior to the cruise. I just did not feel comfortable staying for 2 days at this hotel.  However that being said, we are going to stay at this hotel after the cruise and fly out the next morning back to Chicago. That will be more convenient for us.

We will be sailing in August on the Carnival Horizon leaving out of Miami.  Can anyone tell me their thoughts on the hotel that is inside the Miami airport?

I have heard a little bit about it, but the convenience as well as mobility issues with the husband is the reason why we are thinking of staying there.

We are flying in 2 days before the cruise and flying out 1 day after the cruise. With all the flight problems lately, we have opted to fly in earlier then we normally would.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The prices are crazy. We always fly first class and tickets for middle of August jumped from $1200 R/T for 2 people to as of a few hours ago $2300. This is on American Airlines. Glad I booked at the $1200 rate as I was debating to wait or not.  This would be from Chicago to Miami

What does the code RX1 mean as opposed to the code RU1 ?

I have a hotel booked for a cruise coming up next year in June 2020.

It is located in Linthicum Heights.  

Does anybody know how far that is from the port ?

We got off the Carnival Freedom a few weeks ago and were in a fully handicapped cabin.  It had an automatic door opener when you put your card in...it was great !  

The Posh dining room at the back of the ship is for early/late dining.  We just got off her last Sunday.

We have him booked for our sailing this Sunday August 25th...I have read lots of good reviews and hope they hold true.  He was very pleasant on the phone and was very reassuring !  He will be picking us up at a hotel near IAH and taking us to Galveston to the port, they taking us back to IAH after the cruise.

If they don't charge for day 1, how about the last day of the cruise (debarkation) day, which is counted in the # of days cruising?  You can't utilize the cheers program on that day (just like the first day) as you are in port and about to leave the ship...so shouldn't they just charge for 5 days ? 

We are booked in Cabin 8449 on the Freedom.  It says it's fully accessible.  At one time it was not.

Is it possible that the change was made during dry dock?

Does anyone have any pictures of 8449 or 8442 since dry dock earlier this year?  I did not have any success on Youtube.

I have a follow up question please to my original post.

We have decided to stay at a hotel near the airport, Hyatt Regency Houston Intercontinental Airport, now my question is, Is this hotel near IAH or HOU? I believe it's near IAH but I am not sure.

It's a silly question, but the hubby wants to stay at this hotel. There is almost nothing available in Galveston even though our cruise is not until end of August 2019 !

Just got it for our Aug 25th 2019 cruise out of Galveston TX on the Freedom

Hey everybody:

We have not sailed before from Galveston. We will need to fly in as we are coming from Chicagoland, and just need to stay for 1 night. I have a few questions please and would greatly appreciate your help and wisdom.

1. Which Airport ? HOU or IAH ?

2. Where should we look for a hotel, staying for 1 night pre-cruise, not looking for anything fancy. Port area or airport?

3. Do hotels have a shuttle from the airport to their hotel ?

4. Do hotels offer a shuttle from their hotel to the port? I realize it's about a 1 hour trip.

Any information is appreciated!

Can someone please tell me if the pools on the NCL Gem have a lift to get in and out of the pool?

I thought I saw stairs that you can walk down into one of the pools.

Hubby cannot use the ladders to get in and out and I thought I had read that the NCL Gem pools had lifts.

Do I understandn this correctly that if we hire a private car service from LaGuardia to the hotel, we would still have to shuttle over to get the car service? Are the Taxi's willing to take us to the hotel also where we don't have to take a shuttle ?
