I look forward to seeing the pics of 9201. I can't wait to sail in that cabin..hurry up September!
-
Conquest has sailings already showing out of FLL for next summer.
Whew...thanks
-
We will be on the Conquest in September in a GSOV..these pics are of that type of room..the regular SOV only have 1 floor to ceiling window..but still a nice view.
-
I sure hope they don't re-position the Conquest until next year..we are sailing on her beginning of September from Ft. Lauderdale. I will be out a lot of money on airfare/hotel if the do.

The vanilla with strawberry is awesome! I was quite surprised.
The chocolate, not so much.
The vanilla was so good, not heavy, not airy, just very good !

We have a Grand Scenic Ocean View Cabin 9201 on the Conquest coming up in September. I found it by looking at the deck plans as it was not advertised on the Carnival website. I contacted my TA and she booked it for me. It sleeps 2 and Cabin 9200 sleeps 4. I am so thrilled!

It should be credited back to your card.

Not all TA are worried about the amount they will lose in commission. A good TA will not care, they just want you to be happy.
And not all TA charge a penalty.
If I booked a fare that I could get money back for, I would be checking much more frequently than every 2 weeks.

I agree. I always book ES thru my TA. She does not check everyday for price drops, but I do, I just love to do it, and when I come across one, I immediately contact her and she gets it for me. She also gives me OBC which she will reduce depending on the ES price drop, which is fine for me. I have booked 10 + cruises with her and she has been outstanding. I realize not all TA's are like her. Guess I am fortunate!

Ok, booked Hyatt Place.
Got a rate of $99.00 thru Value Trips dot com. Seems like a reasonable rate.
Looking forward to next September!

I have a choice between:
Best Western Plus - Stirling Road - Dania Beach
Hyatt Place 17th Street Convention Center - Ft. Lauderdale
Of these, what would you recommend?
This would be 1 night pre-cruise stay
This would be for September 2015

Deck 4 is the best in my opinion

Roger that! We stayed in 9200 on the Freedom. Grand Scenic Oceanview. It gets no farther forward than that. Loved it. The motion didn't bother us. Put everyone sound to sleep.
How did you like it? We will be in 9201 on the conquest.
-
We always book a cabin as far forward and low as possaable:eek: We love to feel the movement and the ship maybe a little spray makes you realize you are out to sea:cool: A little motion of the ocean will put you right to sleep:)
We love the cabins forward on the ships. Next September we will be on the Conquest, deck 9, right above the bridge in a Grand Scenic Ocean view cabin..only 2 of them on the ship...can't wait !

If choosing a hotel to stay at pre-cruise out of Pt. Everglades, would you choose
Best Western Plus or Hyatt Place ?
The price is about the same. Which has better amenities and/or shopping?
Hubby is mobility challenged and walking to places is out of the question.

When we sailed out of New York, we stayed in New Jersey and took a shuttle to the port. The hotels can be very expensive in New York. New Jersey worked out fine for us, we flew in the day before and we were not looking for anything fancy, just a place to sleep. We had done the tourist thingy many times so did not want to pay the price for a hotel for just 1 night in New York

We were on her in August with 4 generations sailing, all in cove balconies. Could not say enough about the ship and her staff! We had our cove balconies all next to each other which was fun.
I have to admit, waiting to get on the ship was quite the CF..we had fttf but it really did not matter, it was such a mad rush, etc..very unpleasant. One of the worst embarkations that I can remember (been on 24 cruises) not all on the same line or at the same port.
I would sail in a cove balcony again in a heart beat. Not so much sailing out of New Orleans though.

I this on CNN. I was surprised that they did not post a picture of a Carival ship. Last time something was posted was a few months ago about a Princess ship I believe that had a Noro problem which was mentioned in the article CNN ran, but they showed a picture of a Carnival ship. I am not impressed with CNN.

I love the kids menu....I could order off it all week...LOL
Especially love the chicken nuggets....very good actually..real chicken
And the deserts............YUM

We were on the Dream in August in cove balconies. Just loved loved loved them.

I checked on Carnivals webpage, 9200 is max 4 people, 9201 is max 2 people. Only difference looks to be bed folding out to double size from couch, same sq footage.
I also was told by Carnival that if someone with 3 or 4 people want that cabin that accomadates that # if passengers, then it's possible to get bumped. Not sure how correct Carnival staff is.

I booked 9201 for our September cruise on the Conquest. I was under the impression that 9200 was for 3-4 people? Is that still the case? Don't get me wrong I am sure I will love 9201, but maybe I missed something during the booking.?

Ooops..I meant Port Everglades
Hotel Recommendation/Fort Lauderdale

I am looking at 3 choices and would appreciate any opinions. How would you rate each?
Embassy Suites 17th Street
Gallery One
Hyatt Place 17th Street
Price is not that big of an issue. I thought I heard that the Embassy Suites is next door to a shopping mall?
Are any of these hotels close to restaurants (short walk) ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are looking at staying beginning of September for just 1 night.
We are flying in the day before the cruise.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
