How to do Sound of Music Tour on Danube Waltz

I have received all of our documents for our July 5th Danube Waltz cruise on Viking.

When we booked the cruise, we were told there would be an optional tour to Salzberg. So far, nothing is posted. I called and was told that I could book through the main desk while on the boat.

Would it be best to wait, or book train from Linz and the tour separately? Anyone have any other suggestions or know if we can in fact, arrange through Viking.

There's a Salzburg tour on the Romatic Danube trip. It's on the day when the ship is in Passau. The brochure does not list a Salzburg optional trip on the Danube Waltz.

...which might mean that there isn't enough time to do it.

I did the Danube Waltz tour this past December and was told the trip to Salzburg was only available on the Castles & Legends cruise. I would recheck with Viking if it is truly available on the Danube Waltz.

We also did the Danube Waltz in December 2016. There was no mention or printed material mentioning a trip to Salzburg.
