Still no word on what's going in regards to Paul Rutter on Grandeur after September 15th. I'm on her 9/24 and would love to know who to expect.

I'm sailing on her on the 1st. If it hasn't been reported by then, I'll let you know what I find out. I wish I knew what to expect with Paul Rutter. I don't know anything about him.

He doesn't even know...lol RCI had a lot of movement of CDs to land jobs, etc, so there is a "shortage" even with the promotion of a few AMs. The schedules aren't as predictable as they usually are.

Since you have a reservation, you can email web_reservations@rccl.com, however, their response is often incorrect, but it is better than nothing and it gives us something to work with in trying to figure it out.

Paul gets wonderful feedback on CC, in fact, I cannot recall reading anything negative about him. Have you tried looking for videos of him on youtube?

I'll scratch Liberty off any cruises in the near future.

I don't see him working too well on Liberty. Not only has he proven himself to be extremely annoying and narcissistic, but he also proved himself to be a dud at managing a larger ship.

Yes, that's how I feel about Jimmy Rhodes. He talks too fast, laughs at his own jokes with aren't even funny, extremely annoying, and he's a terrible host. He was horrible on our New Years cruise a few years ago. It was a cold weather cruise, so a lot of people were indoors wandering around with nothing to do, complaining - he should have scheduled more engaging activities. We were on the same ship a few months later with a different CD, and the entertainment/activities were 1000x better (even the same stuff was more enjoyable!). I hope they keep him on Quantum/Ovation and far away from any itineraries I am likely to cruise on. Edited by DonnaK

I know, right? I probably won't see them again as I will keep most of my future cruises to the Oasis Class.

I'm really annoyed that they fired Leigh, but still keep incompetents like Blair. I don't think they'll fire him because he's been with the company for many years.

I wonder who I'll get on Harmony next July?

I didn't mind Jimmy Rhodes on Oasis and actually thought he was fine, but on Oasis it doesn't matter who the CD really is. I thought he was a little bit better than Jerome on Allure the following year.

He should have done more for a cold weather cruise though. I would've been pretty bored.

We have really enjoyed Drew Devine on Oasis. But have to admit We ended up on a Carnival cruise a few months back and Ben Lambert was one of the best CD's we've had - would love to see him on Royal

Allan Brooks and Richard Spacey are my FAVORITES which now are not with RCCL anymore GRR but oh well won't stop me from cruising!!!!

Richard Spacey was excellent, but I have to say my favorite CD is Abe Hughs who's back will be on the Anthem of the Seas in August. I'll be sailing on her in December, I just hope that Abe will still be on at that time.

Sailed Grandeur in March with Paul Rutter and he's not one of the the most visible CDs but neither are Ricky Mathews and Ken Rush. Paul did a good job and his staff was excellent during various activities such as trivia, etc. I must be in the minority but I like John & Katrina Blair. They have always been courteous, friendly and taken the time to converse with us when we meet around the ship and last week on Anthem we had several morning conversations in the Diamond lounge. If everyone liked the same people or things, the world would be a much less interesting place.

I have to agree with you about Ken Rush. He is by far my least favorite CD. I don't see why RC continues to put him on the sail aways of new ships.

I like your perspective on everyone liking the same people or things. My wife and I have been married for 42 years, and we are the most complete opposite people you'll ever meet. Enjoy the Grandeur in 2017 and 2018.

What are Joff and Jamie like? Considering taking an Indy cruise in 2017 [emoji56]

Joff's my favourite CD. Had him 4 times. Very funny. Make sure to be out on deck in port. He'll make fun of all the smaller ships. He also does a great morning show.

Agree - been on 4 RCI cruises and Joff was by far the best.

Just come off Navigator. Rob McNally was by far the most invisible CD I have had. Only ever saw him on the morning show and introducing acts in the theatre at night. No idea how he spent the rest of his day!!!

Haven't heard great stuff about Rob McNally. Was he any good hosting the shows?
