Car Rental Questions

We will be arriving via the Celebrity Solstice on the islands in Sept. Can anyone tell us if the car rental agencies will pick you up at the port, specifically Hilo, Kona, Maui and Honolulu? If so, which agencies would you recommend?

If you search this forum for "car rentals" you'll see numerous threads with a lot of useful information.

In January we used Costco to book the off-airport Hilo Enterprise location & Alamo's airport location in Kauai. Shuttles ran regularly & here's a link to another booking website & it often has lower prices than by booking directly.

On our cruise their prices were more expensive than through Costco.

I agree with AstroFlyer- there are dozens of threads here on car rentals, pros and cons.

For Maui, you need to tell us where you are coming ashore. If Kahalui, yes, there are shuttles. But if at Lahaina, I don't believe there are anybody shuttling.

Reading/searching is your friend.

Harpers did pick up & drop off in Hilo. Didn't do Kona, but looks like they serve there, too.
