stitchcreek Posted August 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Does anyone know if there are excursions offered on disembarkation day? We're with NCL... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tiggertastic Posted August 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2017 There is 1 on the list, 3 hours and suitable for people with flights after 3pm - it's a city tour Sent from my iPad using Forums
stitchcreek Posted August 13, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Thanks, probably will have seen the key spots already, as we depart from NOLA too, so might look for something independent... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AndyCapn Posted August 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2017 From the NCL site: The New Orleans City Tour is a thorough and fascinating introduction to the endless variety of sights found in America's most European city. Board a deluxe motorcoach and sit back and enjoy your tour. You’ll pass the fringes of the French Quarter before heading down historic Esplanade Avenue where you’ll see the mansions of Creole merchants nestled among 100 year old oak trees. Visit Louis III Cemetery, often called "the city of the dead" because of its above ground tombs. Next, you’ll pass by the New Orleans Museum of Art, located at the end of a tree lined avenue, which is also the entrance to City Park. This neo-classical building was designed by Chicago architect, Samuel Marx. You’ll continue through the old town of Carrollton to St. Charles Avenue following the streetcar route where you'll see Tulane and Loyola Universities, Audubon Park and beautifully restored mansions. This narrated tour also includes a glimpse of the spectacular Superdome. Time permitting you may pass by Lake Pontchartrain. As stated earlier, the tour ends at the airport and they say it's only available if your flight leaves after 3 p.m. Based on my experience with NCL's Houston city tour / airport transfer, it probably gets to the airport around 1 p.m.
cougfan Posted August 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2017 We visited the WW II museum (maybe for 5 hours or so) after we got off the boat. I think they have opened up an area for the Pacific war so maybe it would take longer now. Before the cruise we had gone to the aquarium (we did the penguin encounter, great fun) and walked around the French Quarter. There is also a zoo but I think it is further out of town and you would need a car.
mvaygibson Posted August 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2017 I'm also looking for ideas. Our flight isn't until after 7pm. Any ideas on what to do with the luggage?
