JosieCat-MN Posted November 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2017 I'll be taking my first river cruise next July - Highlights of the Mississippi - on the America. First question. Laundry Facilities is listed as an amenity. What exactly does that mean. Do they have a little laundry area available, or do they do your laundry? Also, does anyone know what time of the day these cruises typically get in when the cruise is over. I'm not seeing that on the web-site. I would be happy to have anyone share any information they think is important to know, as to how river cruises compare to regular cruises.
Rare steamboats Posted November 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2017 As for the laundry: They do have complimentary washers and dryers (2 each plus soap). Back in 2012 we had an overnight in St. Louis and left on disembarkation day at 8:30 am. steamboats
DaveinCharlotte Posted November 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Just got off the America, St Paul to New Orleans. Happy to report that the two complimentary washer/dryer pairs are still working fine. Great that they don't charge for the soap. We left our pre-cruise hotel in St Paul at 10:30am, and the ship departed around 1:00pm. Disembarkation was same as steamboats' cruise.
