Mummble Posted January 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Searching on-line it appears that museums like the Uffizi and Accademia will be closed on Tuesday, May 1 for the Labor Day holiday. Is this accurate? I'm holding out a little hope because the cruise line is offering excursions that claim to go inside the Accademia and see the David. We don't plan on doing a cruise line excursion, but wanted to see these two museums on our own. If the museums are closed, is there something else we should do? I think the Duomo will be open. Are there festivals or something happening for the holiday that we could go to?
marazul Posted January 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Suggestion. Go to http://www.uffizi.com/ Click on "Florence Museums." Click on each to check for opening hours and days open. I did a quick check and it appears that the Medici Chapels and San Lorenzo, and San Marco are open on May 1. You may want to click on each of them to see what is available.
