Oosterdam Reviews & Current Info Aug 2018

The one thread that keeps getting resurrected is quite old. We are on the Oosterdam next month. I would love current information on the ship...any tips, current pricing for laundry (Europe), etc. Anything that might be helpful. How badly do the pillows suck...LOL. I can’t bring mine with.

I have an unobstructed ocean view guarantee, so no specific cabin as of yet.

It’s in fine shape.

I found the pillows too soft so our wonderful steward, Andy, brought me a harder pillow.

I am interested in learning more about this ship as well. Still considering, but if we book it would be our first on Holland America after many, many Royal Caribbean cruises and one Celebrity. HA just seems to have so much more of the itineraries that I am looking for...

If you like RC, you’ll also like HAL. I would equate HAL with Celebrity. So I agree, HAL has more interesting itineraries so if that’s what you’re looking for, give HAL a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Yes, we are sailing in October and would appreciate updates. How is the Fleur de Sel dinner? Worth booking?

We had a wonderful time on the Oosterdam last November. She was in great condition. We had our first Neptune cabin (5190) and loved every minute of it. So much that we have booked her again for next June in Alaska. Same cabin.

Thanks everyone, so far. Especially the pillow tip.

If you like RC, you’ll also like HAL. I would equate HAL with Celebrity. So I agree, HAL has more interesting itineraries so if that’s what you’re looking for, give HAL a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I asked this question when I first booked and a very lovely person shared some photos of their recent trip. I was surprising my daughter with this cruise for her birthday and I was able to give these photos as a gift

We are on the Oosteram next March...............yes, please fill us in!
