5oclocksomewhere Posted April 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2005 My wife and I ported in Key West on Easter Sunday at 12noon and had to be back on the ship at 5:30. We had rented a Harley for the afternoon and road to Seven Mile Bridge. This was one of my favorite parts of our cruise. We road a total of 171 miles that afternoon crossing bridge after bridge after bridge and seeing parts of the Keys that your average cruiser does not get to see. Seven mile bridge is a must see. It is incredible to ride across it. I highly recommend this for anyone that enjoys riding a hog at home. It was absolutely beautiful. We actually rented the Harley cheaper than we could have taken an excursion book through the ship and we got to see a heck of a lot more. Not much to do in Key West other than shop or go prop yourself on a barstool. We decided to hit the open road and had a blast!!!!!! The business that rented us the Harley met us where we were dropped off by the ship tender. They were super nice and even gave us a T-shirt. We could have not asked for more!!!!!!!! budaman Posted April 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2005 Any info on a link to who you rented from would be great. Tried to find a rental last month and nothing was listed. Rented in Hawaii last trip and it sure gives you a different perspective!
sportsterjohn Posted April 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2005 I rode 7 mile bridge a few weeks ago. Rode down to bike week then down to the keys for a few days. Of course when I rode over 7 mile bridge it rained. Only I can go to the keys in march and have the temps be only in the 50s!!

5oclocksomewhere Posted April 6, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted April 6, 2005 We rented the Harley from Island Choppers. Their web site is http://www.islandchoppersofkeywest.com. They were excellent and extremely friendly. We could have not asked for more.

JerseyGirl23 Posted April 7, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2005 Actually, if you want to go to a REAL Florida Keys beach (on your way to the 7-mile Bridge), stop at Bahia Honda State Park. :)

FKGirl Posted August 19, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 19, 2010 Glad you enjoyed the drive - we do this drive all the time (although in a car, not so much on a Harley) and it is really beautiful, especially if you are not pressed for time and are just enjoying the scenery! http://www.FloridaKeysGirl.com
