Anthem or Harmony? With preteen kids...

Hi. Have what will be a 9 and 12 yo. Looking at either the Anthem 12 day southern in April 2017 or the Harmony 7 day in October 2016. School not a factor at this point. (they are off both times). Does Anthem have enough for kids to do? Have been on Oasis and Allure, is Harmony too similar or is it all about the waterslides? Any opinions welcome... thanks, c

My first thought was that Harmony would be better for the kids, but 12 days is much better than 7, so I'd guess I'd be leaning towards Anthem.

However, I haven't gotten the best impression of Quantum Class, while I absolutely love Oasis Class.

Hard choice...Sorry I didn't really give you a great answer. ;)

We just got back from an 8 day on Anthem with 9 and 12 yr old boys. We felt there was plenty for the kids to do. The 9 yr old will be able to go to Adventure Ocean (my son always begged to stay longer). The 12 yr old will be in the teen program (they run some structured activity in the Living Room - though it's mostly a hangout). There is also the seaplex with some table games and the Xbox area which my boys loved to hangout and play with their friends.

The system worked well for us except that 12 yr olds need a parent/guardian present if they want to do any activities like bumper cars or roller skating. This is really only a 'problem' if you allow your 12 yr old to be independent on the cruise and they want to go with their new best friends while you are at a show. (Don't forget to sign your waivers) However, 13 yr olds can do the activities without a parent present.

If you want to do iFly or Flowrider - book time as early as possible. They sold out very quickly.
